"Begone, Metal Man, I have no desire to find myself indebted to another of you accursed Midgardians!" Angela called to Iron Man. "Nothing for nothing, and there is nothing I wish from you nor nothing I wish to repay."She took off in flight towards another part of the city, trying to shout to grab the attention of who she had seen yesterday. "DIANA! SPIDER-WOMAN! .... GOLDEN IDIOT!"
Midgardian? Iron Man thought. She sounds like- Thor. That might explain her- style of dress. And her confused state.
"Ma'am" Tony said, in his most charming voice, "Are you an Asgardian? If so, I can help you find your way home. Just follow me."
Somewhere in the Skies Probably - Angela
"An Asgardian!?" Angela roared, stopping her flight dead in her tracks and pausing to look at Iron Man with a vicious stare. "The Asgardians are responsible for severing the Tenth Realm from Yggdrasill! The traitorous Allfather who leads them has great debts left unpaid for protecting Midgard for countless ages! My people are cursed by the Odinforce to live in isolation in the darkest corner of the universe because of his arrogance!"She pulled out her sword.
"And yet..." she grunted, her anger somehow managing to increase still. "Despite that, not only do you offer me the ultimate insult by mistaking me for one of those wretches, but you DARE to offer aid to the savages of Asgard?"

"Hey, Diana!" Apollo greeted with a wave. "How's it goin', girlfriend?" he asked, putting a hand on his hip. "Sorry, sorry. Cliche, I know. Couldn't help it." Then his ears pricked up and his superhuman hearing noticed some familiar bellowing. "I think our favorite redheaded idiot is about to start a fight," he muttered with a roll of his eyes.

OOOPS. Faux Pas!
"Err, no no!" Tony tried to explain. "It was a misunderstanding! I mean, you talk like an Asgardian I- heard once. You're obviously not from around here, I wanted to help YOU, not those- 'accursed Asgardians'!"
Tony considered his options. He had a feeling she was going to attack him, regardless. He needed to gauge her threat level. He decided that if attacked, he would fly away, leading her in a wild goose chase until he could decide on how to handle the situation.
It was unbelievable. The big man himself had decided to fund a superhero team. It was like a dream come true. Despite that, Gwen knew full-well the try-outs meant she would need to tell the truth about her powers. She could already picture their reaction.
"I can play the drums, stay awake during a three hour lecture and, oh yeah, I stole and retrofitted an armor that was police property to play superhero. Please don't arrest me"
That wasn't going to work. Maybe lying and just saying her powers were some kind of mutation... like say, a radioactive spider had bitten her. Yeah right, they would totally believe that.
That train of thought lasted until Gwen heard Angela's voice calling her. On the one hand, Gwen didn't really want to deal with her again especially not in such an important day but on the other hand, she couldn't be left to roam the city without supervision. And considering she was seemingly about to attack Iron Man, it wasn't an unfounded fear. From the top of a building, she tried to call Angela's attention.
"Wait, Angela calm down! I don't want you to kill him"

Angela growled at Spider-Woman's words, contemplating them as if torn."Very well," she finally said. "I will spare the annoying Midgardian. I shall not harm him... unless he chooses to attack me himself. Now consider my debt settled, Spider-Woman. A life for a life." She put her sword back and turned to look at Spider-Woman, though not without one last scowl at Iron Man.
"Have you seen Diana?" she asked Gwen.
Wonder Woman - Outside Stark Mansion
"Hello again, Apollo!" she said, looking past the butler to see him. What did he mean by cliche though? Did he mean his joke? "A redhead... Oh!" Diana took a step back and listened again, this time actively searching for Angela's voice. Yes, she was definitely nearby. "I thought I heard her a minute ago, but it was difficult to tell. Perhaps I should go and get her..." Diana looked back at Jarvis.
"Would it be alright if I left for a few minutes?" she asked.
Sky
Stark was a little miffed. Sure, he was glad he didn't have to fight the- Valkyrie?- but he really didn't like her attitude. And where does she get off acting like she can threaten *him?* He was wearing one of the world's most powerful weapons, after all!
Fortunately some superheroine showed up and seemed to have calmed her down. Still, better keep an eye on them for now, just in case.
Mansion
"Wonder Woman!?" Max Lord gasped, having spied upon who was at the entrance. He literally ran outside to her. "Wait! Don't leave! You're exactly what we're looking for! Powerful, famous, and the looks don't hurt either!"

"Powerful? Looks?" Apollo echoed, cocking an eyebrow and gesturing to himself. "Buddy, I am literally right here in front of you." Seriously, that was just kind of rude. He could appeal to just as many demographics as Wonder Woman could!

Max literally skidded to a halt, and turned around. "Of course, I'm sure of it, but Diana here is *already* a celebrity, and her being in the team would help greatly when we launch. But don't go anywhere, I'll get to back you!"
Then he turned around to see if the amazon was still there.

Diana tilted her head as Max tried to convince her not to go. What did fame and looks have to do with this?
"I had planned to come back anyway," she said, crossing her arms. "Besides, is it not the point of this Justice Avengers project to assist people? I'm not entirely sure how my presence in particular would help your "launch"."

"Huh, I can't believe that worked"
Angela didn't listen to logic all that much but she was a woman of her word. Iron Man was spared of her fury thanks to Gwen's request and just like that the life debt was settled. Although Gwen couldn't help but feel that favor could have been traded for something that amounted to more than just stopping a murder.
"I don't really know where Diana is but my best bet is looking at the Stark Manor. The try-outs are today" she looked at Iron Man "And I guess you are here for that too? At least until whatever it is you did to piss her off"
Mansion
"Of course, fighting crime and saving lives will be our priority!" Max quickly explained. "But publicity is important too! The public needs to know they can trust us! There is much you need to learn about our society!" Then he aded smiling, "That's where I- and the JA- come in!"
Wonder Woman-Stark Mansion
"Hm..." Diana looked like she was in deep thought about what Max had said. It always seemed to come back to publicity in Man's World, and publicity in her eyes meant being surrounded by cameras and microphones while being talked to from every direction. It was a little annoying, but that was apparently how news spread now, and she couldn't say that their method was inefficient.
And if playing nice with the press made the general public trust heroes more, then that could only be a positive thing, right? She didn't want people to be afraid of her or anyone else that was trying to do some good.
"Right, the public. Maybe I could stand to learn a little more about how things work here," she said with a nod. "...As long as this publicity does not become excessive." There was only so much of a spotlight that even she could stand, and she had no desire to hit that limit.

"Try out? Stark Manor? Your words mean nothing; I am not familiar with your Midgardian festivals" Angela replied to Gwen. She stretched her arms up as she thought for a moment. "Very well, I have no greater lead to where she may be, I will accompany you to this Manor."She hovered up a bit and cast her gaze into the horizon as she got ready to follow along to the Manor.

Riri was having reservations already. She could see Mr. Lord's point, of course it made things easier and smoother if they are seen as something good... But it seemed to her that they were going overboard. Made her feel slimy for even coming, and even then she was clearly not along the lines of what the were looking for... No she couldn't afford to hold that line of thought, maybe they weren't looking for her but she came, she would do her best. As the rest discussed she went to her duffel and began to pull out her gadgets and suit, just to have them ready when she was called up.

"Yes, obviously, helping people is what's important," Apollo agreed. He'd realized, thanks to Diana, that he'd suddenly been fixated on the fact that he was no longer the center of attention, when what really mattered was that the point of this team, if there was going to be a team, was to bring together who could do the most good for the most people. A fact that he suddenly felt was lost on the very man who'd brought them together. "Almost as important," he added incidentally, "I will not be homeless anymore."

Overhearing the conversation between the warrior woman and the girl in the spider costume, Stark noticed that they were heading towards his mansion. Good, he thought. That way he could both continue keeping an eye on them and also arrive at his destination.
Just to be careful, thought, he sent a radio message ahead. "Jarvis? I'm about to arrive. Announce it to any guests present, and also warn them that I *might* be bringing trouble along. As in, not a part of the test."
He got a quick response: " Yes Sir" The butler then proceeded to do as told.
King of Lame-Style
Stark Manor - You got a suit?
"Wait homeless? Man that must really suck" Said Riri sympathising with the glowing handsome man. Then the butler (Jarvis was it?) came in to tell the room that there might be some company coming and that wasn't in the test. Yeah sure. She... really didn't look forward to fighting again, but she understood it was a skill they would be tested in. "We better suit up then" she said to Apollo.
She took off the hoodie she had, her baggy pants too, below she had an under shirt and a set of yoga-pants; anything more becomes to stuffy inside the speed suit. She put on the teal padded mechanic's jumpsuit, zipped it up and stepped into the jumpboots that snugly covered her shoes. She then hefted the hoverpack, a bulky orange box-like device that had four large thick metal discus-like devices that sticking out of it and attached to the box by a support structure, onto her back and fastened it to her body with the harness, and pulling the pack' controllers through the wholes in the jumpsuit and through the sleeves to have them at a hand. She then adjusted the boots' boosters at each side of the garment and picked up the helmet. She would be ready if trouble came.

Naturally, Angela wasn't sure what try-outs were or why it was important, let alone knowing why Stark being related to them was a big deal.
"Basically, the big man himself wants to found a superhero group and I sort of want to be part of that because heroism doesn't pay all that well"
Gwen quickly reached the manor—not much time to lose when swinging around from building to building—and landed just in front of the manor. It wasn't that she was scared or anxious or still thinking how to justify her abilities without having the police after her... ok, it totally was that.
"Why don't you go first?" she asked Angela.
Wonder Woman- Stark Manor
Apollo was homeless? Why didn't he say so earlier when they had met? Diana gave him a softer look and was about to say something to him when Jarvis passed on a message.
"There's trouble?" she asked, getting serious. She could see a teenage girl gearing up inside the mansion, and she wondered if this was another of Max's recruits. She wasn't sure how she felt about allowing someone that young to put their life on the line, but Diana knew better than to underestimate people on looks alone. She'd keep an eye on her anyway, just in case. For now, they'd have to wait for Tony Stark to arrive. Any sense of tension quickly disappeared when she spotted Spider-woman and Angela on the front lawn.
"I was wondering where you were! Are you both here for the try-outs?" she asked.

"Big man? Is this where your local god resides? Excellent idea to come here, surely your god will know more of Heven," Angela said to Gwen. "I will go first. If there is anyone waiting in ambush, it is better they attack me, not you." She went up to the door and pulled it open, hopefully not breaking the lock in the process, and looked inside."Diana!" she said. "What are you doing here? Are you here to see the god of this world? You did well in seeking this place out, if this allows me to return home I shall repay you."
She pointed back outwards.
"I also seem to have attracted interest from an imbecile of some sort who parades around in his ridiculous armor," she added, pointing slightly to the side at Tony. "I would be cautious not to fall for his trickery, he is an ally to the Asgardians."

"I mean, yeah, being homeless isn't fun," Apollo admitted, already in his costume, "But since I don't need to eat, sleep, or drink, it's more of a prolonged annoyance of the last six months than a crippling issue. Still, it'd be nice to have a place to stay. Come to think of it," he added absently, "I don't even think I need to breathe. I mean, I haven't tried to hold my breath, but I've never gotten tired or winded, and I ran through Texas in about two minutes because I didn't wanna hang around that state any longer than possible. I'm pretty sure it's still Du Joure illegal for me to exist there." He blinked for a moment before turning to Riri. "That joke doesn't work without context," he realized before explaining, "I'm gay." He took a moment to admire the workmanship of her costume, genuinely impressed. "You made all that yourself? Nice."
When Diana remarked about Tony bringing "Trouble", Apollo just rolled his eyes, tapping his superhearing ears. "He means the aforementioned redheaded idiot." That was when Spider-Woman and Iron Man arrived with Angela in tow. "Speak of the devil," he said, gesturing to her.

Tony Stark was late for the Justice Avengers try-outs. Well not really, he was only a few minutes behind and it had been Pepper's fault for keeping him busy at the office for so long. Maybe he should just tell her he's Iron man and be done with it. One of these days.
Anyway, the fastest way across New York was either by plane, or by putting on a snazzy power armor and flying on your own. Of course he chose the latter.
As the red-and-gold hero neared Manhattan, he began to slow down and lower his altitude, preparing to land near his mansion when-
..is that a scantly-clad female warrior on the beach?
That was worth investigating. Err, purely for heroic reasons of course. She was scaring the tourists, already.
Boot jets thundering, he landed softly on the beach not far from Angela. "Greetings! I'm Iron Man. Do you, umm, need assistance?"
