It's based on readability more than anything. If the un-folderized page takes so long to scroll through that you can't maintain attention to it, or it lags your browser, then alphabetical folderization is probably called for.

I know some works with lots of tropes have them in alphabetized folders. How many tropes should a page have before you start doing that?
