The big thing was that it needed vastly more show and vastly less tell. So much of the stuff that was drily narrated to the audience would have worked so much better as scenes where we got to see the characters' personalities and relationships as they bounced off each other and navigated their strange new world.
I also think that cutting Meteora and increasing Magaine's screentime and relevance might have been a good idea. Making the boring bit-part exposition character a member of the main cast was never a good idea, and Magane's character offers much richer soil, as a For the Evulz villain who gradually grows beyond her role as a simple plot device that murders people with word-games. She's a writer in and of herself, in her own way, making her key to the nature of the conflict, her arc contrasts interestingly with Altair (the fanfic superheroine who became a threat to humanity) in a way that makes for an excellent Hourglass Plot, and her weird sorta-romantic relationship with the protagonist seems like an obvious way to personalise the story as a shallow, inhuman monster experiences the freedom to become human and interact with people in ways that don't involve gruesome bloodshed.
What's precedent ever done for us?What would be a good way for Meteora to explain her theories on what happened in the story while utilizing 'Show Don't Tell"?
"Eratoeir is a Gangsta."Cut the exposition, show the creations running tests on what they are, how their powers work, and so on. Use the scenes to build character and show the developing dynamics between them - maybe bring in the odd bit of philosophical chitchat. Maybe have Magane run her own solo tests in parallel, and have that kickstart her Character Development as she begins to wonder about her purpose in life and bumps into other members of the main cast. A few scenes of Altair's faction adjusting to the world might work too.
What's precedent ever done for us?Yep, Meteora doesn’t have to shoulder all the exposition.
What about the Battle Royale thing?
"Eratoeir is a Gangsta."Should've been called "The Royal Rumble".
"I'll show you fear, there is no hell, only darkness." My twitterRazing it to the ground and pretending it never happened. More seriously, the writing has just too many flaws and it's ironic, considering that the whole series is supposed to tell us how awesome the ability of authors and fans to create whole worlds is.
22 episodes is a good amount of time to expand upon the characters, yet the Creations never amount to much besides being expies of famous characters and the Creators are just kinda there; the Big Bad similarly has no characterization besides "want to destroy the world because I'm pissed" and both her and Magane were more or less invincible from the beginning so the whole thing was just doomed to fail from start.
I'm also annoyed that the work is supposed to be more realistic and yet everything that happens is really forced and contrived, with characters acting like idiots for no other reason that "the plot said so", and other improbable stuff like the mega-city the story is set in being somewhat always empty when the Creations are fighting each other and blowing everything up. Also a lot of plot points that get mentioned and then never amount to anything, like the fact that Altair was based upon a healer character from a RPG: it could have brought some interesting concepts but it never factors in the plot.
Basically to me its only "success" is the musical score; I would have said some character designs, but then again these are mostly based on pre-existing characters so it would be kind of cheating.
"Effective Altruism" is just another bunch of horsesh*t.So Re:Creators needs a Re:Make?
"Eratoeir is a Gangsta."Pretty much. Wouldn’t mind another take on this premise, myself.
Wanted to stop by and say the show will no longer be available on Amazon Prime in a few weeks, and thus you’ll have to look elsewhere if you want to watch it via…other means.
Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession.
She definitely would not consider that "hell".
I would've given more scenes of Altair brooding over Setsuna, including a Nightmare Sequence and a flashback showing how she came to be in the first place.
Also have her "Nope" herself out of existence...only to bring herself back through sheer rage and willpower.
