about the Gotg, well...is hard not feeling that way, the use of rock song, the heavy sci fi bent and have more a goofy and wacky feeling, I mean the trailer start with Hel cracking Mjoljir and end with Thor fighting Hulk as sparring match, it feel less "the dark hour of Asgard" and more the "the wacky aventure of thor and hulk!".
Also sorry to said, but those gladiator shield and weapon REALLY look like toy, for a moment I was wondering if hasbro own this film.
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"It also includes more shots of the Used Future setting of Sakaar rather than the Space Fantasy direction of prior Thor films, and thus far little description of a galactic threat and instead emphasizing comedic "bro moments", both of which are reminiscent of GOTG's trailers.
Yeah I think that the visuals are what are causing a lot of the comparisons to Got G, Thor clearly ends up leaving the High Fantasy area of space that he's been in so far and falls into the Science aficton area of space that the Guardians currently inhabited.
"And the Bunny nails it!" ~ Gabrael "If the UN can get through a day without everyone strangling everyone else so can we." ~ CyranYeah, Sif and Volstagg or whatever his name is went to Nowhere before to give the Aether to the Collector, but I bet that the Asgardians stick to the Nine Realms for the most part.
That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw.yeah, the moment he got capture it start to look let like "the hero touch a low ground" like tony stark in iron man 3(sure a flawed movie but DAMN it manage to push the hero to is limits) and more a "sucky place to be to our sucky hero"
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"Marvel cosmology or whatever it's called is fucking weird.
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?Marvel has used songs for trailers since day one. It is part of the reason why most people have problems to remember the scores of the respective movies, because they are rarely used in the marketing. Ironman for example was marketed on AC/DC.
also because marvel is more a beliver in the invisble soundtrack.
sure, but like other said it look Thor just landed in Got G than is on movie, which is the not the first it happens
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"My guess is that the parts on Sakaar will be more "space-operaish," whereas the rest will be more "Thor-like." As it should be imo.
I mean all of the stuff with Hela seems very fantasy-ish.
It still has created some truly amazing themes...most notable "Triumphant Return" and "Take a Stand". I love those.
Now that is how you make a movie trailer and classic rock song *COUGH COUGH* come together.
it feel less "the dark hour of Asgard" and more the "the wacky aventure of thor and hulk!".
Yeah why is this even called Ragnarok ? It's about as different from the comic Ragnarok as it could be. Unless there's a serious pivot in the second half and Thor does pluck out his eyes and hang himself from the World Tree.
Civil War is only loosely based off of the comic of the same name. Same with The Winter Soldier, or Days of Future Past, etc.
Films love doing this. Also it seems like Asgard does get devastated at least.
Yeah if you're expecting a film based on a comic to be in line with hundreds of year old mythological poems and stories, you're gonna be disappointed.
I mean, Hela doesn't even have a half melted face (and is it possible Cate Blanchett just gets more beautiful with age?)
It sounds like the first half of the movie will be Sakaar stuff with Hulk, Valkyrie, and the Grandmaster, while the second half will be Thor and co trying to stop Hela from ruining everything on Asgard.
I imagine in between that will be a brief Dr. Strange bit with him helping Thor find Loki.
So Hulk is back now? How did he wind up on Sakaar?
We don't know exactly how he ended up there. A safe assumption is that he was abducted by the Grandmaster to fight in the arena.
Or, being the Hulk, volunteered.
Yes I know that quite well I was talking about the comic.
Except nobody loses in an eye in the comics Ragnarok either. The only reason for someone to lose an eye would be to tie into Odin's trading of his eye for knowledge and, again, that never happens during Ragnarok. Hell, we already see Odin has an eyepatch, so he's already missing one eye.

While fighting in the arena might of been his decision, he still needs to get to actually get to Sakaar. And I would assume the Grandmaster (or one of the Grandmaster's underlings) is responsible for that.
It's not like the Hulk could fly a Quinjet to another solar system...or jump.
Hulk jumps good.
Bite my shiny metal ass.I really wonder why they're going with the whole 80's vibe with the title font.
Well, it was used in Girl With The Dragon Tattoo trailers (a cover, but still)
And more specifically, with Marvel, I'm fairly certain there was an AC/DC song used in Iron Man 2 trailers well before Go TG came out.
Not to mention, when talking about Iron Man, the most obvious one...
