[I fail to see much of a problem with that.] “Ye, yea, yea, y’can...” [I crane my head off of Autumn’s, remember I have food in front of me, and start wolfing down a slice of pizza. I feel just a smidge of energy return to me...my palms feel warm as I run my fingers across them. I immediately move in for another slice of pizza.]

“...hmm?” [I thought I heard someone cry for help. I would zip my head around in worry to look for the source if I wasn’t currently locked into first gear, having to settle for a groggy, faux-dramatic turn.] “...an’one else hear ‘t?”

I don't know Dinah...they probably wanted to find further leads on her and her clan.

Some in the crowd take Grigori's excuse as fact, others, including the two cops, stay to watch. Of course, as they are cops, they have to inquire.

Both Cop mons, a Sawk-Throh duo, approach.

Right...so any of you wanna tell me what the hell is going on here?

Being the closest mon to them I speak first.

See, we found this Clamperl kid lost yesterday, right? We've been trying to find her mother and well...just now we discovered that her mother is a criminal.

Quizzically the second of the duo responds.

...Is her mom in jail? Why else would-

No, not like that. Do you know of the Gorebyss treasure hunter and her clan?

In unison they both say..

We do.

We do.

That kid is one of the "children" in her clan, and got lost. We don't know how.

Even more confused than when they began, the cops look around the rest of our group.

Is this correct?

Yeah, let's get on it. We've got a few hours at best to get it done. Let's see if mom and dad are awake at least.

She leads her siblings through the house to find their parents first.

(As soon as the cops asked if it was true, I responded.) As far as we know, yes. We've talked with another pair of cops and they informed us about that clan. The kid mentioned that her "mother's" name was Phoebe and we came to that conclusion. Not mention, we found the kid inside the Vespiquen's manor as she is now.

The Decidueye nods.

"I understand. Well, I suppose we should apply the orb with no further delay, then."

Outside

The cops look amongst each other. L'Arachel's Manor? What would they be there? Then they're reminded of why they're even here in the first place, so back to the topic at hand.

Other cops...uh...wait, you guys talking about Genna?

The officers pace and briefly speak to each other before looking back at our group.

I'm officer T. Roh and my partner is S. Hawk. We worked with Genna before she got involved in some accident which caused her to leave us. We're still friends with her, and uh..I'm not really sure if she's still around here or what, but she's trying to hunt down leads on that case. She would love to know about this, I can tell you that.

Bailey looks around awkwardly. "Well..." he says to Rex. "I didn't expect this. Now I'm not sure what to do again..."

"Uh... excuse me, Marsha? Is there anything we can do? About the kid, I mean."

Ta be 'onest, I'm not sure what even I can do about this right now eithah... (Marsha admits to Bailey.)

(She looks around for something she and the two new guys can do while Grigori, Marlon, and Dinah try to figure out what to do with Sally, eventually spotting Eliot and Autumn. They seem to be busy with that Uryu fellow she swears shows up everywhere they go.) Maybe I could just lead yas over theres so youse can meets them when they're done talkin'. (She suggests. It does look as though the commotion over here might be drawing Eliot's attention, though, so this could end up being a temporary solution.)

(Benji and Lucy soon show up in the dining room. Lucy rubs her eyes and climbs up on a chair.) Hi, Goobert! Is the boat done yet?

I dunno...haven't heard from the people fixing it yet. (I say to her as I bite into a Poffin.) Hopefully it is done now, though. I'm ready to get moving.

Me too! (Lucy nods as she hungrily dives into a Poffin herself.) Can't wait to see Whisperin' Pines!

Me too, lass, me too. (Rich says.) I'll see me Polly again and be one step closer t' gettin' rid 'a me curse...

Hear hear... (Cortez grunts.)

(Pancho's loud snoring from within his and Maria's bedroom when the Dos Santos siblings arrive at their door quickly answers that question.)

Doesn't look like Mama and Papa are up just yet. (Mia says.) I bet we might have time to finish repairing the boat before they get up.

   Are you sure?    (Izzy asks.)

Sure, I'm sure! Papa's always a late riser, anyway. (Mia says.) Let's get going!

We know who the mother is, but where is the bigger question, and I'm doubtful that the kid's talking any time soon. For right now, we should get together someplace and figure something out.

Roh and Hawk look amongst one another before coming to a consensus. Loosening themselves up a bit, but still keeping a somewhat serious approach to this, they nod.

Alright, how about you and your friends come with us to our barracks just uphill here and we'll figure out exactly what needs to be done here. None of you are in trouble, obviously, but this just seems so peculiar to us that you found one of her children in another known-uh, deceased criminal's manor.

I take the cops' response into account. Obviously, while they don't want to fucking throw us in jail, there's obviously more that they want to know. And if they want the information that'll help both of our sides, why not oblige them?

Officers, I think that'd be fine....what say you guys?

I turn my head to briefly glance towards Grigs and Dinah. Figuring, of course, that they were the ones that were involved initially with the situation. And me, uh...another voice in the situation (along with anyone else who'd want to go anyway)? After all, Genna and Harold did speak to me first about the whole Treasure-Hunting situation.

Kevin, meanwhile, decides to join Marsha, Bailey, and Rex, figuring he'd have not much else to do right now.

What do you think they're talking about?

He asks the three in reference to Eliot's conversation/s.

After briefly leaving her siblings to acquire things to do so, she writes the following note.

After leaving it near their parents' room Tiff rejoins her siblings and begins to head out.

Well, if you can help us figure out what we need to do... (I just want to know WHAT we need to do about this because this situation is getting crazier by the second, and I don't know what to say or do about Sally's mother being a criminal.)

And maybe Mother will be able to walk again... (Delilah says, looking at Renata, who gives a small smile back at Del.)

(Once the Dos Santos siblings are out at the Blissparce marina, they'll notice a couple of things. One is Maran and Sunny picnicking on the sand. Another is a bored looking Muk cleaning up the stray tree limbs and such still on the beach. Lastly, they'll notice a particularly large barge sitting about half a mile off-shore.)

Huh, not every day we get a ship that big out here. (Mia remarks. She thinks nothing of it and waves at Maran and Sunny and the Muk.) Òla, guys!

Bonjour! Bzz, hello! (The Muk simply waves back and keeps working.)

We should have the boat finished in a jiffy. (Mia continues.)

Bzz, great! (Maran says.)

"But of courrrrse, princess. All in due time."

Just as Uryu starts to set about prodding at the Smeargle, he seems to be distracted by the growing crowd and commotion nearby. Dropping the paw he was about to place on Eliot's chest, the Espeon watches with the others as Grigori and co. approach.

"I— not so fast, we'll take a while to get over there."

In the back of her mind, Autumn is wondering where Niles and Mila have gone off to, particularly since whatever Grigori seems to be trying to bring them towards has gathered a crowd and seems liable to bring them somewhere else entirely.

"Help! They wanna t-take my mom's stuff! Please! I don't wanna— wanna be here..."

Sally continues to put up a token resistance, though it seems she's tiring quickly even if she is no less upset than earlier. She doesn't seem to notice the police, however, whether she'd recognize their position of power or not.

Narcia, Out of Commission

"Nuh, why'n'cha go with 'm, see what'm matter is..." [I weakly push Autumn on—literally—to go help the others do...whatever it is they're doing that someone requires help for.]

(I nodded to the cops.) Not to worry, we don't have anything else planned. (With that being said, I followed to cops to the barracks, hoping the others would catch up.)

Outside

With the agreement from all three of us, and perhaps any others who'd wish to accompany us, the cops begin to lead us up to their barracks. It's a decent sized building about three blocks up from the center of the currently ongoing festival, and one can generally tell what it's meant for.

Meanwhile, Kevin calls toward those near Eliot.

You all okay? Need our help with anything?

Barracks

The Barracks that are here seem fairly rudimentary, given the general lack of technology that would generally form a modern Police Station that I would know-matter of fact, these aren't even actual Barracks-as I manage to catch a detail that in fact implies that Roh and Hawk are Private Investigators of their own right-just like Genna and Harold. The corridors that adorn this place have indentations that lead into seperate rooms, such as offices and storage areas. Roh and Hawk lead us down progressively further until they motion for us to stop.

Just up ahead.

Roh opens the door into this particular room, which is almost a "Main Office" of sorts for the more major cases. Adorning the walls are items give an inherent hint as to what their most recent case was-L'Arachel. Hawk clears some of these files and puts up a new Case for the duo to begin work-or, aid their friend in-the Gorebyss Treasure Hunters.

Take seats wherever you like in here.

As per instructed I find myself a seat close enough to where I more clearly communicate with the Detectives. I'd expect Grigs and Dinah to do the same, perhaps most put of necessity? Or whatever reason. Regardless the Detectives take their places and begin.

Alright, proper introductions first. I'm Thomas Roh, this is my partner Steve Hawk. We worked alongside Genna, who as you know is trying to hunt down leads on that Gorebyss. You can tell us your names if you want, but trust us, your reputation precedes you around here.

Marlon Redfield. Good to be here and help figure this mess out.

Right. First things first-how did you find this kid in L'Arachel's Manor? Do you have any guesses as to why she'd be there?

We have a potential theory that this Gorebyss and L'Arachel had some type of meeting based on the fact that you mentioned this Clamperl to be one of the children, and also other pivotal factors that our friends in the field helped raise our attention to.

Ohhhkay, then. Sure seems odd to have this big a boat around here. You guys sure we weren't expecting anything?

Tiff asks as she goes to inspect the cursed mons' boat after their work from last night.

(Marsha watches Marlon and the others head off with the Sawk and Throh for a bit before turning back to Bailey and Rex.) Hope they get some answahs...anyways, we've still gotta properly introduce ya fellas to the othahs.

(She motions to Eliot and Autumn. She notices how groggy Eliot seems (must be from him turning back into a Smeargle).) Yo, Foxy, Sparky! Everythin' okay? (She calls to them.)

Narcia (Barracks)

Um, D-Dinah. Dinah Martinez. (I say.) We just stumbled upon her in one of the inner hallways of the manor.

Blissparce

(Now that I've finished eating, I'm feeling a lot more energized and restless.) Man, I'm ready to get up and going now. Anyone else?

I sure am! (June says, jumping out of her seat.)

Y' know, maybe you and June could swing down to thuh marina and see how they're comin' along with the boat and come back tuh tell us how much longer it might be, just sayin'! (Benji suggests.)

Hey, yeah! Whaddya think, Gooby? (June asks, spinning around to me.)

(Well, there's an idea. It might be a little while before everyone is done eating, so maybe we can do this.) Yeah, anyone else want to come with?

Can I, Papa? (Lucy asks Benji.)

Heh heh, you've still got food on your plate, Lucy, just sayin'. Finish eatin', first. (Benji laughs.)

Oh... (Lucy returns to her Poffins, eating a bit faster.)

I'm not done and I want to wash my swimsuit before we leave. (Delilah says, looking down at the stains on her swimsuit.) Don't wait for me. And be careful.

Yeah, we will. (What could happen along the walk to the marina anyway? I look over to Dieter.) You want to head to the marina with us? (I ask them.)

I never heard anything about it unless it happened while we were trying to solve the mystery... (Mia says, a mildly suspicious expression on her face.)

(Maran and Sunny had observed the barge when first arriving on the beach and thought nothing of it.) Mademoiselle Dos Santos, do you typically get ships that size around here? (Sunny asks.)

Not typically... (Mia says.)

It'll be something interesting happening around here that doesn't have to do with the murders, that's for sure. (The Muk mumbles.) Where'd I put that bucket? Must have eaten it by mistake. Go figure, that's the fourth one this week...

(There's movement in the water approaching shore. It doesn't appear to be particularly large movement, though.)    What's that?    (Izabel asks.)

Narcia

Grigori Strel. The fact that she wasn't turned into a Combee would suggest that the two would be connected, otherwise why would she keep someone that would provide little benefit for her cause? And while we're at it, what connection do these two have in the first place? (I might be musing out loud, but it never hurts to spitball some ideas.)

Barracks

So in the hallways of the Manor, right, right...and asking the question about the level of connection they have is the right one to ask, Mr. Strel. Y'see...our theory about the two having a meeting and being connected is predicated on the fact that we had some agents in the field try to collect whatever information on L'Arachel that they could and...

Before either gentleman could say anything the leader of the operation, a Kecleon, reveals himself as he had camouflaged himself against the wall in this room.

You wanted to see me sirs?

...Thanks for the comedic act, John, but glad to see you could be of use to our friends here.

The Kecleon introduces himself with a brief wave before waddling over to the desk facing us.

Yes, they are correct. They sent me and a few others to try and collect information on L'Arachel and what we instead observed was some form of congregation. We stayed out of sight, somehow, as this occured, as we were able to camouflage ourselves.

That would be the Combee swarm you saw, would it not?

In unison the three gentlemen all say "no", which catches me off guard. If not that, then whom?

What we believe is that the congregation our recon operation observed was in fact this Gorebyss and her children having some form of meeting with L'Arachel. And that, is where the connection lies.

Now, as you are aware L'Arachel practiced some strange form of "magic", where any unfortunate soul became a Combee. We suspect that based on the meeting with L'Arachel that this Gorebyss-also-practices a similar form of this magic. And that isn't all to support our idea, of course.

John, Steve, and Thomas gather maps, clippings, and drawings/notes and spread them out for us to see.

What exactly are we looking at?

Uhh...I don't know what that is, but we might have a problem on our hands here real fast unless they identify themselves.

In the meantime Tiff produces a Needle from one of her arms and begins to produce the one last patch needed to fix the boat.

(So my hunch was right. On top of that, there's more to the connection than I originally thought. I tried to glean over as much info as I can, but there are some things I'm not sure of.) More connections?

(Oh no, not more magic, and not more of the same kind of magic L'Arachel was known for. At least Sally still has her own free will unlike L'Arachel's Combees and Nyquil. I'm somewhat amazed that the Pokémon with these two were even able to discover this without getting captured by either L'Arachel or Phoebe.)

(I look down at the notes and pictures they just presented to us.) What did you find?

Okay! Anyone else? (I ask.)

You go ahead, mateys, I'll catch up. (Rich says. The Chansey whose name I still haven't learned is still eating and gestures for us to go ahead, her mouth being too full to simply say it.)

Okay, let's go! (June says, leaping up and heading to the door. She looks back at Dieter and I, waiting for us to follow. I get up, give a small wave to the others, and begin heading toward the door.)

I dunno, I kinda hope it IS just them... (Mia says.)

(A moment later, the mystery person bursts out of the water and throws themselves onto shore. It's a rather haggard-looking Machoke in a tattered blue tuxedo and half a fake mustache. He crawls a little ways onto shore and collapses. Sunny recognizes him immediately and gasps.)

Monsieur Georgés?! (She cries.) What is he doing here? I thought he was still on Harnicara.

(She springs up and (slightly hesitantly) approaches him, Maran following her, and Mia going to kneel beside him.)

   You know him?    (Izabel asks, staying by the Shifter.)

Oui! (Sunny says in Rich's voice. She begins trying to shake him awake.) Monsieur Georgés! Réveillez-vous!

Bzz, sir! (Maran says, lightly tapping the Machoke's snout.)

(Georgés stirs and mutters indistinctly.)

Barracks

News clippings. Maps. Our notes on who this woman generally is and her mindset. Let us read our notes first....

Hawk picks up the notes and begins to summarize them.

We gathered enough information based on the news clippings to come to an inference on her general mindset. This Gorebyss wants to stop at almost nothing to grow her clan, and is very ruthless in her goal. Also ruthless is her attacks on the places she goes-not only do multiple Pokémon go missing whenever she attacks, multiple mons have turned up dead in these same attacks. I'm sure you might know this one...

This particular clip reads Acting Troupe attacked by Treasure Clan; one dies, others injured, then turn up missing.

Sunny and her acting troupe? We were told by Genna that two members of that troupe went missing from their hotel room in Foxfell. You wouldn't think?

It's entirely possible.

Hawk and Roh lay their notes aside and pull out a map, while incoherent at first with many lines and circles, they do begin explaining what everything is.

Right. Based on what we uncovered from reading these news clippings we have generally inferred a rough path of where she may be taking her clan next.

Hawk speaks next while Roh outlines the movements of the clan.

The clan seems to have, to us at least, a fairly by-the-book attack pattern-they hit as many locations on one island as they can before leaving elsewhere. Then they hop for island-to-island, doing the same thing, and what they were likely in the process of doing when they met L'Arachel. To go from here, though, we can only theorize, but given what we believe we have a solid idea as to what they're now up to.

Roh outlines the movement (with the words "poss. Current movements and position?") of the clan from L'Arachel's Manor...to Blissparce, with another line deviating suggesting one of two locations, that and Danjor Island.

A chill is sent down my spine when I recognize the implications of this.

H-hold on a second, we have friends, my best friend, Dinah's lover, too, among others (even including one who they're trying to help at the Spring) who should be in either of those places. Are they in danger?

Unfortunately they may very well be in the line of fire as we speak.

I gulp. This is gonna be a big problem, isn't it? Hell if I know what's going on there in this very second, though.

...In which Tiff recognizes, yet doesn't, recognize who washed ashore. While spindling away at the last patch Tiff calls over towards the seemingly barely-coherent Machoke.

Sir? Sir. Are you awake?

"Okay, sounds good!" Dieter says and follows June with Goobert.

Tiago gives a nod to indicate he understands before Georgés?

"Ei, você está bem?"^* Hey, are you okay?

And then looks at his sisters.

"Devemos levá-lo a algum lugar para descansar?"^* Should we take him some place to rest?

So it's a gamble to find out which island she ends up on. If we guess wrong, it's one more ransacked island. That's just great. (Not to discredit the others, but I'm not sure if we have the numbers to split up, given a good amount of them have already went their separate ways. There's also the possibility that they might not go to either one and end up somewhere completely different.)

(It may not work out well, but perhaps it's worth asking.) Got anything to get in contact with those two islands?
