I'm video editing and for the past two hours I've been looking for a movie examples of That Thing When two people are talking, but then when of them starts talking to themselves and the other starts sounding distant and muted. Know what I mean? I feel like this happens in so many films but right now I'm breaking my head and I can't find any specific example. It's driving me insane. All I need is one concrete sample so I could examine the sound effect used.
Anyone help? I'm losing my mind in here. It's like the movie knowledge equivalent of having something stuck on the tip of your tongue.
