New arena maps are the real update. Finally some I can use some different strategies. None of them seem awful so far, mostly since horses are always the worst, and they got nerfed bad here. Good thing I never bothered with them on my arena team.
Yeah, they're cool.
However, I don't know for how long I'll enjoy them in AA, because I just encountered a +10 Cav Team (Eliwood, Reinhardt, Cecilia) w/ +10 Fae. Since I still have 6 Cherche merges in stock, it means I might eventually get beyond the range of Cavalry teams.
To which I will say FINALLY.
Also if you still have spare blessings, you really should use them on your scoring team. Between last week and this one, the only improvements on my team are 1 merge & 1 blessing and my AA score increased by more than 20, from ~5035 to 5060+ (along with my Arena score I assume since those are identical when Fjorm is a bonus unit).

Def Ploy Seal get. I'd upgrade it now, but I only have 60 Sacred Coins and the QR Seal is a much higher priority.
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with? The fence maps seemingly have promoted more diversity. I didn't encounter a single horse team in AA just now. Incidentally, I hit 4963 on my first try.
A cruel, sick joke is still a joke, and sometimes all you can do is laugh.I'm hitting around 730/match right now and +10 horses are still showing up, but they're generally not full horse teams. And it's stuff like Rein and Brave Lyn with Aether and dual Rallies, so suddenly Rein gets less threatening due to being unable to Reinbow Pulse.

Though having Gronnraven+ TA Bunmilla, Blárblade+ Summer Corrin, and Warpgate Nowitch helps a lot.

If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?I've settled on my TT team being Ryoma, Sakura, Bike, and Micaiah. Not the most efficient, but they can usually get to the last map, and I've got plenty of potions. Once I get a 5* Corn I'll replace Bike and Micaiah with him and some other unit.
I beat Oliver on Infernal today with help from a nifty guide with F 2 P units.
Funny how with enough strategy Fjorm, Selena, Felicia, and Wrys can effectivley win this entire thing easily.
I am told that if you equip QR twice it acts as a buffer against any effect that would cancel out QR. So Hector can equip the QR seal and use Wary Fighter with no penalty.

Seems like a waste for the seal, but whatever works I guess?
What else are you going to do with the seal? I mean being able to equip a breaker at the same time certainly isn't terrible. But only a few characters actually have good combos unlocked by it, imo.
I mean there's always the "too poor to afford QR 3" use, but that seems like even more of a waste.
Breaker or even Renewal, since this would allow a tank to self-sustain Quick Riposte threshold without needing to give up their special for Sol.
FE: Genealogy Story Run 7PM PT Sun, Mon, Fri; Expert Unicorn Overlord 7PM PT Wed, Thurs: http://www.twitch.tv/kuroitsubasatenshiGuard+Quick Riposte to make tanks better against special-reliant units.
A cruel, sick joke is still a joke, and sometimes all you can do is laugh. That, too. Fjorm with her base setup really appreciates it, too, because she really wants both Shield Pulse and Quick Riposte, but could previously only have one.
FE: Genealogy Story Run 7PM PT Sun, Mon, Fri; Expert Unicorn Overlord 7PM PT Wed, Thurs: http://www.twitch.tv/kuroitsubasatenshiFjorm is one of those good combos I was thinking of, but I would consider Wary Fighter to be strictly better than Guard for keeping the tank alive.
Have you ever been so obsessive, you un-summon yourself?◊
Seriously Faye, I am pretty sure that is illegal.
Continue the bloodline, Fujimaru!Alfonse and NY!Corrin work very well together in TT, I think I am going to support them to make it better. Alfonse really likes the QR seal because his SPD remains bad as ever, but with Corrin next to him rallying him he can reach 43 DEF & 33 RES, which allows him to even tank about every red mage except for buffed Tharja.
If the tank's name is Sheena, she is likely better off with Guard (and now QR) than with Wary Fighter, as it allows her to exploit her huge bulk and fire Ignis on the first turn of counter.
When I talk about Wary Fighter, I mean the version with Hector abusing double QR to remove its penalty while keeping its benefit. He always gets to counter twice and never gets doubled.

Wary Fighter also only works with armours, so not every tank can field it. Even then, there might need to be consideration for damage output because not securing the one-round can easily get a tank killed. Wary Fighter would be for Glimmer/Moonbow builds, whereas Guard would allow for Bonfire/Iceberg bombing.
EDIT: Unless someone brings Axebreaker, then Hector still loses the second QR and gets doubled if the opponent is fast enough (not a terribly hard feat).

FE: Genealogy Story Run 7PM PT Sun, Mon, Fri; Expert Unicorn Overlord 7PM PT Wed, Thurs: http://www.twitch.tv/kuroitsubasatenshiIf Hector hits twice without getting doubled I don't see why you even remotely care about the special proccing, but sure.
Also I think I misunderstood what exactly Guard does, so yeah, that's a good option I guess.
Edit: The question was never "what's the best tank set-up?" It was "what's the best use of the QR seal to let tanks do things they couldn't do before?" My argument was that putting it on Hector is a bigger power boost than almost anything else you could do with it, but apparently I didn't realize how Guard worked because I've never seen anyone use it before.

If Hector fails to secure a kill, that may end in him getting expoded via WoM.
FE: Genealogy Story Run 7PM PT Sun, Mon, Fri; Expert Unicorn Overlord 7PM PT Wed, Thurs: http://www.twitch.tv/kuroitsubasatenshiHector is strong. Two hits from him is enough to kill almost anything anyway. But giving him Moonbow or Glimmer wouldn't be bad for insurance. No reason not to.
Axebreaker counters it, sure, but it's pretty easy not to put him in places where that's relevant. And it also counters anyone else who uses the QR seal just as much.
Most stuff, but there's still some bulky stuff in the meta—especially fellow armours, where things can get murky.
Yeah, he can avoid it, but if he's running the double Quick Riposte and Guard build, he'd instead still be able to counter-double through it and then Bonfire bomb his attacker. Not the most common case, but still worth mentioning.

WF seal for Double Wary Fighter when?
