It depends on how his hitbox alteration works. If it's completely player controlled and every attack conceivable can be evaded as long as the player can react to it, then the sky's the limit for how good Helix can be on defense.
But on offense, that depends on tournament rules. If no customization is allowed, Helix won't have any fast moving/attacking ARMS, and that may limit the attacks he can punish after a successful dodge, without a super.
So I went to a shady kind of site and checked the ARMS "fan art" since Twintelle's reveal: as of this edit, 64 out of 66 pics since Twintelle's reveal have Twintelle in it.

My DA account... I draw stuff sometimes! These guys work fast.
Wake me up at your own risk.A thought/question: was it ever mentioned if attack speed was affected at all by character, exclusively by AMRS, or a combination of both?
Because if the giant, slow mountain known as Master Mummy has slow attacks even with the fastest ARMS in the game, that mgiht heavily screw with any attmept of balance in the game.
From what I've seen of gameplay, character speed only affects your movement speed, while attack speed is determined solely by which ARMS you have equipped.
Since it's almost game time, here's some info/reminders for the Testpunch...
Reminder - Global testpunch times
You can play part of the roster. Spring Man, Ribbon Girl, Ninjara, Master Mummy, Mechanica, Helix. No Twintelle? 0/10 worst demo ever.
Spring Stadium, Ninja College and ARMS Labs are the stages.

My DA account... I draw stuff sometimes!Looks like Helix got access to Biff's Twitter. It's oddly adorable once you understand the context.

Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectAlso Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2 came out today. So yeah, lots of fighting games.
A TFH beta? I should see if I backed enough for that.
Not that I'm likely to play that game enough to get good; I'm just glad it's happening.
I have a message from another time...If you paid $40+ for TFH, you are in the beta.
Also ~9 hours until the first ARMS Testpunch.

My DA account... I draw stuff sometimes!Testpunch is up in a few minutes. Time to see how this fares in practice. Music is great at least.
Holy hell, that was so much fun. The game feels just about perfect. There's probably some balancing tweaks that need to be done here and there but hooooooo boy, this game is amazing.
Can't wait for the next testpunch. Managed to get my score up to 94 here.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book! The motion controls for this are really wonky. Half the time I had no idea what I was doing. I had trouble figuring out how to move the character and the camera, as well as trouble controlling my punches. It was fun when I was figuring things out, or when I thought I was. I'd have liked it more if there was more tutorial on the controls, instead of just throwing me into a brawl after a couple minutes, and giving me at most half a minute to familiarize myself with the controls between matches.
Lord Helix is fun to play as. I need to work on faking out and moving like a Butterfree and stinging like a Ribombee.
When you wish upon a side of beef, soon will come an end to all your griefAll right then. Took me about half the hour to figure out the controls (why did I not realize the controllers are supposed to face each other?), but once I figured out the orientation I could control things mostly fine. That's one concern down. Mostly used Min Min. Didn't like the Dragon ARM much, but the others were neat. So far I'm liking it, but still just considering a purchase.
I had absolutely no issues with them. Everything worked beautifully but the game does require a bit of dexterity if you're playing with the motion controls since your hands have to work in tandem with each other.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!Yeah, it'll take some doing to not fidget too much and do the wrong thing. It's fun though, and the party system is really good.
Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectI guess so. Not worth an Amazon preorder for me anymore tho
tl;dr: That was fun! Extremely fun.
Controls:
- I played in Handheld mode.
- Big loss here in that you stop dead while punching, since the L Analog also turns the punches.
- Few people seem to know (yet) that R Analog is to lock on to a different opponent in 2v2 or free-for-all.
Assessment:
- I can rarely feel the lag, if any. Maybe it's the nature of the game you don't have to perform combos and block mixups and jump, block and other things precisely.
- I enjoy light or heavy ARMS.
- Unlike Virtua Fighter/Dead or Alive, attacking is not a hard counter to throwing... as long as the opponent can't punch out your grabby arms.
- No one has any double jumps at all. Except Ribbon Girl. But everyone has an air dash.
- This makes Ribbon Girl an absolute beast in volleyball because she can easily jump higher than the net and poke the ball when it's on the opponent's side.
Characters//Fights:
- Can't control the direction of Mechanica's hover, but you can let it go early.
- While Mechanica's anti-flinch is not up all the time unlike Mummy, it's easy to have it ready most of the time.
- Helix is auto-lose for me, I can't figure out how to win (probably intended by devs to make him difficult to use).
- Especially in Volleyball.
- Hold Y to crouch, hold X for stretchy stuff.
- Handheld mode likely limits Helix's potential. It's quite hard to stretch/crouch and punch at the same time, for example.
- It is SUPER easy to make a comeback as Spring Man.
- The session ended with a 1v2 comeback with me as Ribbon Girl in a Ribbon Girl + Ninjara mirror match. I'm very satisfied with that.

My DA account... I draw stuff sometimes! My best moment was dominating a 1 v 1 v 1, juggling between both opponents and finishing off the last one with a throw right as the time expired. I was still pummeling them when it hit zero. Very tense.
Right. Helix seems like a problem because he can contort his hitbox, but I bet people will find ways around that too.
