The Hangover pic has a somewhat ceremonious vibe to it and hence doesn't fully convey the seriousness of the situation.

^^ Yeah, those are a few of the ones from HIMYM I considered. Not happy with the quality still (they look pretty grainy honestly), but it's at least an improvement on the current if we don't find something else.

Personally, I think the tradeoff is between subtlety (not relying on the "intervention" sign) and lack of ambiguity.

It looks like the current was put through a few filters—it's blurry as all hell and super-saturated.
Not very happy with alternate pics from HIMYM that I found through GIS for a different set of quality reasons (too dark, too grainy, etc.). It's also proving remarkably difficult to find a good replacement that doesn't have a giant "Intervention" sign. This example
