Right, but in the third one, he was worshipped as one too.
When do you think they will finally put Loki in a Marvel Vs Capcom fighting game? I mean he's gotten popular in the last decade, and I am surprised he hasn't been shown in one of the Capcom games.
He honestly should be dlc here. We need more villains.
Which version of Loki should they go with? I wonder Classic or the newer looking loki.
The thing with Loki is that he got popular AFTER Mv C 3 was out.
You know, I have to wonder why Pit is obsessed with this site. It’s gonna ruin his life!
And it's been seven years since Mv C 3.
If Marvel wants them to use Loki, they will. If he doesn't have a continued role after Thor 3, he may not be a possibility.
I think he does have a continued role in the MCU after Thor 3.
You mean if Marvel wanted and Capcom wasn't so lazy that getting lunch from the fridge required a Herculean effort.
I mean, I hate to keep belaboring the same point but if it was MCU focused, we would have gotten Loki, gotten the Winter Soldier, gotten Whiplash, Black Bolt, etc.

Lazy this, lazy that, how about you guys make the game yourself?
Continue the bloodline, Fujimaru! If we got Black Bolt over the X-Men people would've fucking rioted, so that was probably a good call. Plus the Inhumans show looks like hot garbage anyway.
Also people care about Whiplash?

Hypothetical if the game was as purely MCU focused as some claimed.
My point is that there's plenty of characters to use, but reuse? Not so much. So here we are.
Point very well made. If Capcom truly was "lazy," then why are we getting the likes of Mega Man X in a fighting game for the first time ever or Jedah in 3D?

With the MCU focus I'm astonished Loki isn't in the game as is.
Or would be were it not for the lack of new characters.
It still is pretty much MCU focused. It's just that they unfortunately had a shit load of MCU characters from the last game they could lazily reuse.

You guys remember that rumor about the Kamala Khan version of Ms. Marvel appearing in this game?
I wonder if that's still happening...
Maybe if Kamala gets in, people will quit bickering about the Marvel roster being MCU-focused...

They add them to keep people from calling them lazy.
And because not many people would pay for Jedah DLC.

This song needs more love.5 new characters isn't anything special for a franchise as storied as this, especially since this game is being touted as a sequel. Marvel 3 had more than 3 times that many new characters.
Lazy is really becoming little more than a buzzword at this rate.
I'm taking back every single negative thing I said about having Kamala Kahn in this game. Just...do something new.
It's apt. There are so many reused assets that it comes off as a step down from Mv C 3 rather than one forward.

Its not about laziness. Have you ever read up on the creation of MvC3? I did. I re-did the research just a bit ago so I would know I'm not wrong. When Capcom approaches Marvel with one of these games, Marvel basically gives them a list of characters they can use. Anything else is deep-set negotiation. Capcom had to fight to get Shuma Gorath, one character, added to the list and even then they were only allowed to use it as DLC. Marvel is very conscious of its brand right now. They want very specific characters to be at the forefront. If Winter Soldier doesn't show up, its because Marvel wanted a different character to get the exposure Winter Soldier would have had.
If I had to apply any adjective to this game, I'd say its rushed. Not in that its gameplay is unpolished. Actually, the gameplay looks fantastic. Then again, I think Street Fighter V plays great and nobody ever wants to talk about that. No, it seems to me that they needed to fill in the roster for a game they rushed to get the rights to as soon as they were able to reestablish the license. Reusing game assets is, by all means, the best way to do that, and isn't just some lazy tactic to save effort. The game would just have significantly fewer characters, otherwise. They're probably hoping they can be allowed to build on the game afterward in the same way that Street Fighter V has retained development since its release.
I like Marvel vs Capcom. This one looks like fun. Not all of my favorite characters are in it, but I can live with that.

EDIT:
I could've sworn this game was being touted as a soft reboot rather than a full-on sequel.

It's not even about people's favorite characters missing from it, at least to me. I find it exceptionally difficult to justify buying this game when I can get its predecessor for a fraction of the cost, almost twice the number of characters (and with virtually no new entries in Infinite to entice me away from that cast), and enough extra content that a goofy, unappealing story mode I can just watch on You Tube won't be missed.
I don't want a rushed, $60 buy-in. I don't want to purchase the right to pay more money for a season pass with characters I actually care about down the road. I want to know I'm spending money on a product that had the time and effort put into to justify its price, and right now, Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite absolutely is not that product.
Get the fuck out of here with that corporate ass buzzword technicality nonsense. This is a new entry to a franchise that doesn't have any kind of continuity to begin with.

That was irrational you know...
The only good fanboy, is a redeemed fanboy.
In fact, Secret Wars starts with the heroes and villains immediately breaking down to bickering amongst each other and splitting off into unnecessary mini-factions. Professor Xavier mind-wiped Spidey and joined Magneto. It happened.
For the record, first first Secret Wars also ended with God DOOM.
