Milliana is walking around the boat looking around. She's a bit distracted however and trips.
"Eeeeeek!"
... And falls onto Vera.
"O-Oh my... I am so very sorry... Are you all right?"
Milliana seems to feel extremely guilty.
"It's quite alright," Vera said, planting her foot firmly to avoid being completely knocked over by the dainty girl and bracing her with her arms to keep her from being knocked over as well. She patted her on the shoulder and made sure she wasn't maimed. "Just watch where you're going. It would be a shame for someone so young to scuff up their face. You wouldn't want to wind up like me."
She tapped her right cheek on the scar, and gave the younger Laguz a smile.
Milliana manages to not to fall with Vera's help.
"I-I will try to be more careful from now on... Thank you, Vera."
Milliana smiles a little. The people she and Inuksuk have been traveling with have been so helpful to them.
"All of you have been so very kind to me and Inuksuk. I am very thankful you are helping us."
Inuksuk continues to look out over the docks, not seeming to register Grendan's voice. His eyes flash to one side when he hears Milliana cry out but, having registered that she has merely tripped and is unharmed, his gaze returns to its former range. "I haven't seen anything particularly notable as of yet, no," he informs Grendan.
In his previous life, he might have said more. He doesn't.

While putting the finishing touches on his sketch, Damien notices Astra mulling over their character sheet for some reason. He glances over at Astra and asks, "You okay over there?"

Grendan nodded, but continued his scan of the area regardless. True, many believed one lookout would suffice, but in Grendan's experience one man could miss things, whether through fatigue, inattentiveness, or simply not knowing what to watch for.
Astra jerked in surprise at being addressed, but responded, "Sorry, I just... have trouble believing I got through that game without getting hit." After a brief pause they added, "Well, that and how useful Rinsewater turned out to be." They tucked the character sheet away to rub at their eyes before mentioning, "By the way... Grendan's been considering making a character of his own the last few days. He... isn't sure what to make, though, so... he says he'll let the dice decide."
“Yeah. You had a lot of fun playing with us,” replies Damien. I think you even acted like Rinsewater when you got lucky.”
When Astra mentions that Grendan got interested in Crypts & Cryptids, Damien smirks. Guess he's a fan like the rest of the group. “That's great, Astra. The more, the merrier, I always say. Maybe the character Grendan will cook up will make my sketches more interesting. Speaking of sketches, what do you think about the sketch of our characters?”
Damien holds the sketch he made earlier up in pride. Damien prays that the drawing is good enough for Astra.
"Astra, you didn't get hit because you were always at maximum range from the enemies, and people acting as meatshields for you. You really should be thanking the others rather than bragging." Kiri noted to the younger dragon.

I expected projectiles... or monsters from behind or... something that'd kill Rinsewater instantly at any time," Astra corrected Kiri as they examined the picture Damien had drawn. After a moment they commented, "It seems... pretty good, but, um... I don't think any of our characters actually know spells like that... I mean, Rinsewater mostly uses lightning and support spells."
Damien studies the sketch for a bit and scratches his chin, as if Astra had made a good point. "Huh. You have a point there. It still looks cool, though."
"Arr, lousy good fer nothin' so-an'-sos," Scherwiz grumbled as the conversation drifted away from people agreeing with them. "You lot just get yer junk stowed and bunks in order, I be settin' sail soon as yer spy be back." Continuing to grumble under their breath, the pirate captain shoved their hands in the pockets of their overcoat and stalked off to yell at their first mate, passing Diane and Addelus coming up from the cabins on the way.
The pair made their way over the to group at the gunwale, Diane resting her arms on the railing while Addelus climbed on top of a coil of rigging rope for a better view of the happily bustling city and sighed peacefully.
"I miss this," he said to no one in particular. "I used to watch the castle market from my window in the palace during afternoon lessons back home." His shoulders sank as a thought crossed his mind. "I suppose it's probably all gone now."

"J-just... think of it as... a chance to rebuild everything better... after this is over," Astra hesitantly suggested to the prince-in-exile.
"I guess," the prince said, not sounding particularly convinced.
Diane patted him on the shoulder. "It will be alright, Addelus. Vissan wouldn't have any reason to destroy the market. I'm certain it will all still be there when we get back." She ruffled the boy's hair affectionately and turned to join the rest of the party in watching the docks for any sign of the erstwhile Caldarian spymaster.
"What concerns me more is how both the rebel groups knew about the secret meeting. I thought only Ailes' spies had uncovered it."
What matters in this life is much more than winning for ourselves. What really matters is helping others win, too. - F. Rogers."Well obviously Vissan was behind it." Kiri shrugged dismissively, as if that was supposed to be entirely obvious.

"They sure seem to be everywhere," said Zeera.
Diane frowned at Vera. "Are you suggesting that Ailes told the rebels?"
What matters in this life is much more than winning for ourselves. What really matters is helping others win, too. - F. Rogers."Are you just a pretty face to look at after all?" Vera asked Diane sharply. "If only someone with a network of spies as capable as the one Ailes manages would have been able to find out about the meeting and act on it, who else but Vissan could have done so? The prospect of a third party being capable of doing so is unsettling."

Inuksuk continues to observe the docks but dedicates his spare focus to the conversation. This information might, after all, be important.
A flicker of a frown crossed Diane's face before she turned away and coughed embarrassedly. "Well, that's what it sounded like you meant. But you're right, I suppose it was just good luck that we happened to be there when the Duchess needed help. I, um, I should go talk to Malia about... something. Excuse me."
Addelus watched his attendant hurry off, then turned a frown up at Vera. "That was kind of rude, wasn't it, Miss Vera?" the boy said.

Rogers."Perceptive as always, young master," Vera said, smiling and patting the Prince on his shoulder. "There are things you have yet to learn, though, about how to use your tongue to come across a certain way."
Addelus's face scrunched up into a look of innocent confusion. "Is that what you were asking Captain Scherwiz about regarding Miss Morgan?"
What matters in this life is much more than winning for ourselves. What really matters is helping others win, too. - F. Rogers."No, that was unrelated, that had nothing to do with having a sharp tongue," Vera told the boy. Then she paused. "Well... not in the same sense at least...."
"Scherwiz, darling, I hate to say it but even a critical wouldn't have saved you there. You had fair warning not to rush ahead. I even broke my rule and dropped the theatrics brielfly to tell you" She said. sighing and shrugging. "I'll help you make a new character the next time we play. One that's actually the same level as the others" the little dragon continued with barely hidden hint of annoyance.
