Qualnar noticed and recognized the centaur as he came up to the Salty Kraken.
"Can't fit? Want me to get you an ale? I'll ask about your room. Probably have to stay in the stables."

Ulysses gave a chuckle "Thanks there, and kinda used to it by now, those humans have no sense for scale... then again mysituation is better than that of the ogres."
"One may feel fear in the face of danger so long as one banishes fear when danger actually arrives"Shynre turned to the pair outside, nodding, before walking in.

All are significantly abnormal in a normal world... All are significantly normal in an abnormal world."Hey there! What would a beautiful young lady such as yourself want to drink?" Caoin smirked smugly as he set a clean glass on the bar "perhaps i could interest you in a r.... hey wait a second ... are you the merc's Sasha hired?" his smirk became much less sultry and more of a welcoming smile "you don't look like one of my regulars."
"I'm not familiar with your military friend and his fondness of poultry"Qualnar held out his hand and smirked as he said, "Fair warning, I'm keeping the change."
Trump delenda est"Ah of course, here's your keys" he handed them over to the elf and the drow before pouring a glass of ale for Qualnor "Ah I remember back when she was a private. Traveled with her dad and a weird cast of characters years back during the whole Ur catastrophe years ago. Anyway ... can I get you guys something to eat? Maybe some drinks an gossip? Mercs always have some interesting stories. Always better then what the newspapers and the radio reports" he chuckled as he pulled up another glass
"I'm not familiar with your military friend and his fondness of poultry"She brushed the train of conversation away. "Regardless. You want stories? I was a member of the Shyreni armed forces. I have stories. I was a lieutenant. Arcane mechanic. I didn't have a platoon, per se, instead I had four golems. Walking engines of war powered by arcane energies." She paused for a moment. "It was the last engagement of the war, the siege of the Shyreni Gate. The passage which had, in the past, connected us to the rest of the Empire, to our... kin. Now it served as a fortification against the Imperials who wished to, ah, reintegrate Shyren with the rest of the Empire. Long story short, that went... poorly for them. They had numbers, but they were using outdated weapons. All their guns were muzzle-loaders, and some of them weren't even rifled." She motioned to the rifle slung over her shoulder. "This? This is a Shaera point three-oh-eight sunari. Rifled, clip-loading, lever action. Standard issue rifle of the Shyreni military. One Shyreni soldier could manage the same rounds per minute as a whole squadron of ten Alliance - the Imperial loyalists - could, usually with better accuracy.
"The botched siege of the Shyreni Gate broke the Alliance's war effort. In the end, almost fifteen thousand of their soldiers had fallen, trying to break the Gate. We lost one thousand, three hundred and eleven. The Gate stood firm. They sued for peace, we went home, business as usual resumed. There's still a lingering expectation that the Imperium will, eventually, get off their collective arses and actually do something, militarily, not from two centuries ago, but it's just that - an expectation."

Ulysses gave a chuckle, putting out coins that would somewhat pay for it and a bit extra "Hehe, for serives rendered then, off you go."
"One may feel fear in the face of danger so long as one banishes fear when danger actually arrives"Quelnar shrugged and said, "I was raised to believe that doing something for someone else without profiting from it was an unnatural act."
He walked in and up to the bar, nodded at the incubus and said " I believe you have a room for me courtesy of General Sasha? Also, one of my companions is stuck outside because he's a centaur. If you could give me a drink for him as well and make some kind of sleeping arrangements for him?"
Trump delenda estCaoin handed a key and a drink to Qualnar "welcome! And you are correct, here is you're key, feel free to order a meal or to get set up in your room! We do have stables if your centaur friend wants to sleep outside ...though I'm sure he could squeeze through here. Just make sure his hooves are clean I dont want to mop centaur shit and mud off my floors. "
He turned his attention back to the drow "interesting ... another military officer ....I should expect that being in the same town as the biggest military base in Hapsburrow. Its pretty rare to see an underdark dweller up on the surface, most of the drow I've met up here have been a few generations above ground.
"I'm not familiar with your military friend and his fondness of poultry"Quelnar raised a sardonic eyebrow. "I'm pretty sure adult centaurs know how to control their bowels, probably better than some of your two legged customers once they've had a few."

Ulysses looked at the door... typical for humans, wlel, staying outside was nothing new for him, so he just gave a nod before kneeling down in front of the tavern.
