At the risk of this thread getting closed or locked or whatever, i have to discuss what we all like to talk about every now and then; the holidays.

We all have our favorites among the holidays, those special occasions that we look forward to every year. For me, the top two will always be Halloween and Christmas, but it just occurs to me (or at least hits me after such a long time of not thinking about it), each holiday has at least one thing about them that appeals to someone enough to make them consider it their favorite time of the year.

Here's a few examples;

Halloween is that time of the year when we can let our imaginations run wild, when we can be whoever or whatever we please. It's a holiday about fantasy and a day about dealing with fear.

Thanksgiving is, in addition to being a time to give thanks, a day when we can eat enough food to make us feel content and full. When we can enjoy the company of family while you all eat and be merry.

and

Christmas is a time where goodwill and joy is in the air, when some people just can't help but be generous and kind. When people are just surrounded by imagery and songs that convey a certain sense of peace to them, which is greatly needed for those who get caught up in the commercialism of the holiday.

I honestly like thanksgiving because of all the food like marshmallow covered yams,turkey,mashed potatoes and gravy and the most famous thing of all the pumpkin pie!

Christmas! There's the religious bit, the lights, the carols, friends, family, presents, songs, people wishing you Happy Christmas in the street...just this general feeling of goodwill and happiness. I mean it does get overly commercialised, but it's a holiday where people come together and try to love each other. How could I not love it?

Everybody's all "Jerry's old and feeble" till they see him run down a skyscraper and hijack a helicopter mid-flight.
