Anyone else find it strange that we were all just dragged into the auditorium without the principal/relevant authority figures directing us to go there beforehand, even though it may have been implied? Cause I kinda assumed before that that everyone would be headed off to their respective classes.
Also mentioning I'll probably be inactive for most of tonight, as will probably be the case for a while.
Well, sometimes there are mandatory assemblies every week/every day/a couple of days a week. Could be something like that.
I mean, sure, there are mandatory assemblies, but usually students would know about them ahead of time or something, and I'd assume this is something that would require an announcement or something (though I vaguely remember there being a daily announcements sort of thing displayed on monitors/projectors or something that would display stuff back in my high school).
Gah, my apologies for that! I was kinda in a quick rush, and I wanted to put something out there- this week's been sorta hectic, but I don't plan on losing sight of this soon! But, soon enough, I plan on editing that out so I can improve on it! My apologies once again for the lackluster post, and for the sake of quality, I'll try to get to this soon!

So, in my high school, we always had our bags with us everywhere. During class they'd get chucked under our seats (except in drama or home ec, where they get put in a corner). We wore uniforms, so we weren't allowed to wear jackets in class: they'd get taken off and put on our seats (except, again, for drama/home ec).
Is that the same for Callow's, or is there a place to hang up bags and jackets? Are kids allowed to wear their jackets in class?
they/them || "Forgive me, regent of queer amphibians" - Lt.BGobMost of the time in my high school, books and stuff were carried separately from backpack, though other students may have used them during the school day. Also school didn't have uniforms.
Also kinda wondering what subject Mr. Leiman teaches (I'm inclined to believe it's math for some reason), as it'll probably affect what Ivy does during encounter thing.
Also kinda assumed Mr. Leiman hadn't arrived yet due to commotion in halls and Ivy's attempted early departure. Also might have assumed that Mr. Leiman's classroom was some distance away from the commotion in the halls and was also on the first floor of the school complex, if there are multiple floors. We didn't really get a lot of details about what the whole layout of this place was, so I kinda made a few assumptions while writing most recent post, as these things will probably figure into what Ivy does during the encounter with Cassandra.
I'd like to apologise for my recent lackluster levels of activity. Apart from the inconvenience of writer's block regarding what I could have Edgelord XII do without giving away his identity, the exams I mentioned when I first showed up have begun. So yeah, I'll be posting rather rarely for about the next month or so, but after that, I hope I'll have plenty of time!
Also, random bar graphs I ripped from Google without checking sources and citations say that only about 20% of US schools have uniform policies, and I'm reasonably certain that this RP takes place in the US, so just roll 1d5?
Well, to answer all your questions-
1. There are lockers, but since this has only been the first day, students were free to carry their own bags and the like. Lockers and combinations will be given out in a short amount of time!
2. As far as uniforms go, there's no real policy on the matter. My school has uniforms, but this school isn't necessarily as strict. There might be a policy for it in the making, however.
3. Mr. Leiman teaches history- but, the school is separated a bit differently. The school has 3 floors, with the lunchroom and gym on the bottom (sorta obviously). 12th and 11th grade classes mainly head down to the first floor, 10th and 9th on the second, and 8th and 7th on the third floor of classes. From the front entrance, Mr. Leiman's class is a short distance away, off onto the right- the commotion is happening off to the right of the auditorium as well! The only problem is, he's just too late to notice.
And that's no problem, Mistfader- get here when you can!

That information might have been useful to know earlier. I think a few of us have been operating under the assumption that we have received our lockers and whatnot, and at least one of us has put their mask in their locker. I haven't mentioned specifically whether or not Ivy has done so, as I haven't fully decided if she's carrying her bag with her or if she stowed it away, though with this new info the second possibility is ruled out.
Yeah, Rachel put her mask in her locker. Might be best just to assume we already got the combinations—that's how my school goes. You get your locker and combination alongside your schedule in the summer.
Also, I've been very very busy. Will probably be able to start posting again in a week or two. Until then, assume Rachel uh, went home sick. Or something.
That's no problem- in the event that a lot happens, I'll try to update you when you come back!
And augh, yes, my mistake- That's definitely something I should've mentioned earlier as well, my bad!!
Okay, so I seem to have missed yet another memo concerning the exact mechanics of the masks (i.e. they're leaking now?), so may I request a quick crash course on everything we know OOC about what the masks are doing and prerequisites for any effects? About the only thing I even suspect I can assume any more is that we need to put them on to access our powers, but maybe that changed too since I last checked, heh.
Hopefully I'll be able to keep up better with the discussions this time, and stop myself if I notice I'm skimreading instead of giving the posts the attention they need and deserve.
Masks: How do they work?
- You have to wear a mask for its power to work. The power will immediately be lost if the mask is taken off.
- While wearing the mask, it is up to the player whether their mask's power is constant or can be turned on and off. The default is on/off.
- The mask's power directly ties in to the mask's emotion, but liberties can be taken with the interpretation. For example, an Anger mask could enrage an opponent or it could control fire. A Joy mask could motivate allies, or it could have healing powers.
- Most masks will have an area of effect power and a power mainly used for offense/utility, or just the offensive power/AOE power.
- Most AOE powers do something to affect people in the field around them in some kind of way, rather than be automatically offensive. The effect can be positive or negative.
- A mask wearer can wear another person's mask. The new mask's power will combine with their own power to create a more powerful mix of emotions and abilities, but only while they're wearing the new mask (Anger + Joy = Scrappy, etc.)
- The mask's power can grow and expand over time if the character practises enough with it.
- Characters who wear a mask will most prominently show the emotion associated with that mask (an Angry mask wearer will mostly be angry, even while not wearing the mask).
- The mask wearer can unintentionally affect the emotions of people around them (an Angry mask wearer will make people around them feel a bit angrier).
- Mask wearers are immune to the lethargy around town, and are resistant to the effects of other mask wearers.
- People who are emotionally close to a mask wearer (best friends or family members) are likely- though not guaranteed- to be unaffected by the lethargy around town.
- The mask can alter the voice of the person wearing it. This isn't a requirement though. UPDATE: A mask can only alter a person's voice if it voice alteration can be tied to the mask's power.
Some of this comes from old info, so lemme know if it needs updating.

they/them || "Forgive me, regent of queer amphibians" - Lt.BGobWait, all masks can alter people's voices?
How nicely laid out and comprehensive! Truly amazing work! Thank you! (I'm actually trying to figure out how to explain how awesome this is and coming up short.)
Oh, thanks, whizzerd- you probably explained it a bit better than I could've here!
Thanks!
I don't know if all masks can alter voices, but a few people (including myself) have mentioned it in passing- our identities would be found out pretty quickly otherwise.
(Also I don't know how the others are doing it, but in my case the voice isn't unrecognisably distorted; it's just deep enough that someone who isn't close to Masumi wouldn't be able to tell it's her).

they/them || "Forgive me, regent of queer amphibians" - Lt.BGobI'd say that not all masks can distort voices, but if it's a big part of their power, then it can be a part of their mask abilities, yes!
Edit: Nvm.

they/them || "Forgive me, regent of queer amphibians" - Lt.BGobgosh, I apologize for saying this, but, it might be hard for me to get to this.. with school work starting to grow and dealing with college stuff, i'm finding myself forgetting about this!! I'm really sorry!! It's not something I mean to do, really!
While it's certainly hard to hear that, it can't be helped. If this game's going to die, there's not much we can do about it. It was fun while it lasted though. Who knows, maybe it'll survive after all! You're a damn good GM, Lime.
Long live the New Bev.I know at least I am willing to wait if need be. Real life should take priority most of the time, so focusing on that is probably good!
Well, I don't wanna say it'll die out, but with the level of activity I'm keeping in it at, that might happen! I'm just not the best at juggling life and stuff like this!! But, thank you for staying patient with me!! If anything, I'll give this some time!
I'd be willing to wait too, but in any case real life schoolwork definitely takes priority. Hope it goes well on your end

Aw, jeez.. sorry to hear that! But, if you really must, I'll just say that it was a pleasure having you here! I hope that in time, you get adjusted to this IRL stuff and things become easier!
