He can even be a world-class athlete in regular competition, just not in the decathlon. He won't be able to pole vault or compete in throwing events (unless his left arm is strong enough for throwing events), but he's still top tier for running, hurdling, high jump and long jump. Anyway, my point was not that it was dangerous, but that it had no chance of success. Trying to block the wormhole with his arm does nothing except get his arm sucked in, at which point losing the arm is the best-case scenario.

Happy ending, but it felt rushed. I think it should have been 6 volumes instead of 5, in order to fully unveil the mystery back on Astra.
Reviving this thread because of the anime that aired:
Episode 2
Still feel exhausted after watching the first episode given its 45 minutes long. But this episode is mostly about Kanata and co. hunting for food in another planet and some bickering with one of his teammates named Quitterie. She's a tsundere but we see the flashbacks on why she behaves that way which is understandable. And yeah, we also saw the flashback about Kanata being an athlete and he used the skill so that he could save Quitterie's little sister, Funicia, from trouble which is great. However, seems that the communication for their ship is jammed by someone...
"Making screw-ups and mistakes was I ever really good at. Because everything I touch went to hell."I do like the anime so far, except for one thing: What's with the black bars being used for every scene that doesn't involve space? I mean, ERASED did it but it actually served a purpose. Not sure what the deal is here.

Episode 3:
Today's episode: About the team on panic about potential murderer on the ship and ended up working together to save the ship from crushing into a planet by fixing some gravitation machines. We also revealed about why B-5 team ended up being in space altogether as there are several people who tried to eliminate them.
"Making screw-ups and mistakes was I ever really good at. Because everything I touch went to hell."Late but Episode 4:
On this episode, we see the B5 Team working together in a Planet which is revealed to be ruled by giant mushrooms that poisons B5 people unless they wore a helmet. And yay! Yun-Hua got a focus and backstory although not necessarily bright as she's intentionally self-depreciating herself until Kanata comforts her and motivates her.
"Making screw-ups and mistakes was I ever really good at. Because everything I touch went to hell."Episode 5:
Today's episode: Is about the B5 team having a fun together in a beach like paradise which is nice In the meantime however, there is a meeting between the parents of B5 about their missing children and they seems suspicious af. Yun-Hua finally gains her confidence and cuts her hair and was revealed to be the daughter of a famous singer. Oh man! That ending though, Ulgar attempts to shoot Esposito...Oomph
"Making screw-ups and mistakes was I ever really good at. Because everything I touch went to hell."Can't wait for next weeks episode.
Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession.Since I have actively been avoiding spoilers beyond enough to know that something fishy is going on, but Ulgar and Luca's fathers using the exact same phrasing in describing how their children being missing is effecting them raised all sort of additional red flags.
I was thinking the same thing. To me it seems like Aries' mother is the only parent Locked Out of the Loop.
Robots would emote more than those parents would for the lost kids.
Wake me up at your own risk.It would be one thing if they claimed to be finished grieving, but Vice Principal Zweig claims they're all as distraught as Emma, which they clearly aren't.
x 3, as things stand at the moment I could see Charce's mother being out of the loop too and just letting herself be pulled along by the others going by her reactions in the most recent episode, but she's the only other one who might not be in on it.
Episode 6, one of my favorite chapters gets adapted, and what a doozy it was! Ulgar's backstory, albeit a little too much of an exposition dump, Luca being intersex, the tsunami, and everyone being awesome. I was so afraid the anime would mess up Luca so badly, like hide him being intersex somehow to make him into a straight boy or girl. Glad to know they didn't go in that direction, and it helps that he's one of the better written and more positively portrayed fictional intersex/non-binary something characters I've seen in media recently. *coughcoughMagnusChaseHammerOfThorcoughcough* It's a shame most anime watchers I've seen on My Anime List are all up in arms and freaking out, accusing the show of somehow being run by social justice warriors inserting gender politics into it or pushing some non-existent agenda, even over stupid stuff like the words on Luca's shirt. I mean, come on! That's just reading too deep into it!
A fun episode overall. Luca is best boy!
So, who can solve the mystery? So far, we can rule out Funicia on account of being literally incapable of keeping a secret, Kanata and Aries have alibis for the time when the radio was sabotaged, Zack volunteered information revealing that there was a traitor when nobody else even considered that, and Yunhua tried to run away on Shummoor, which would have prevented her from killing or stranding the other crew members. That leaves Quitterie, Ulgar, Charce, and Luca as suspects.
Zack would have been a good suspect at one point, because he is the one who'd know how to mess with the ship's wirings in the first place and the fact that he got Kanata to reveal there was a traitor could have caused a lot of trouble in the crew.
Wake me up at your own risk.Episode 6:
Ah! So the reason why Ulgar have a huge hatred towards the Esposito family is because of his dead brother that was suspiciously killed and yeah, it was also revealed that Luca doesn't have a good life either as both Ulgar and Luca doesn't get any love from their parents. In the meantime, Tsunami happened but this incident made Ulgar a lot more friendly than ever which is nice and man that end with Charce though!
"Making screw-ups and mistakes was I ever really good at. Because everything I touch went to hell."I wonder if the anime will make a Shout-Out to Armageddon. "We're all safe and we are heavy one cosmonaut."

Episode 7:
Late, but that episode is about them getting trapped on a planet full of carnivorous plants and hope seems lost when their plane is wrecked. Though at the end, they found another ship with someone in a hibernated state revealed to be a beautiful woman which reminds me...
"Making screw-ups and mistakes was I ever really good at. Because everything I touch went to hell."Episode 8:
Yep, that beautiful woman slept for a long time and she officially joined Kanata's team. Although shocking revelation that her own past crew already died long time ago. And even more shocking that Zack found out both Funicia and Quitterie are the same person from their DN As.
"Making screw-ups and mistakes was I ever really good at. Because everything I touch went to hell."The reaction Polina had to the year was suspicious too. Makes you wonder how deep the hole they got into goes. Funny what they end up discovering after an attempted murder by being flung to the depths of space, isn't it?

Wake me up at your own risk. The most curious part is that Polina was shocked that nothing happened. Something big was in the works and didn't happen. Can't guess what yet though.
But I think at this point we already got some major mystery clues already.
- All parents are implied to be in cahoots except for Aries'.
- Marco Esposito was one of the very few senators against mandatory DNA sampling/use of DNA signatures.
- Aries is heavily implied to be Seira but haven't shown any signs of remembering this.
- Zack's father researches memory transplant but still wasn't succesful, at least publicly.
- Funi was confirmed a Quittiere clone.
With cloning and memory transplant pretty much confirmed already, I'm assuming our main characters were created to be spare bodies for their parents, but still have no idea why they were dumped in space.
Note that with these ingredients, they could be copies of their former selves. In theory they could also be wrong about what year they live in.
(I don't claim this is likely).
Episode 9:
Yep, all of the puzzles are connected now. All of the main characters are basically clones of their parents and yeah, their parents are truly scum of the earth. While they initially distraught by this, they ended up moving on and then we have Zack and Quitterie married together at the end. Oh yeah! There's also a twist that the mcs are not from Polina's home, Earth.
"Making screw-ups and mistakes was I ever really good at. Because everything I touch went to hell."
It's not that he doesn't understand, but that he really wanted charce to stay with them, and to convince someone whose personality has been so conditioned there is no room for playing it safe.
He can still be the best paralympic athlete though
