Quick, somebody at least write a fan fic for that.
Episode 12:
No show deals with parent child bonds as well as this one. I liked the parallels between Kotori situation with her mother and Tsgumi and Kouhei problems. It's sometimes not easy to convey how much we care. But if we try it will all work out.
Kotori's mom does not disappoint, she's great. And I love how Yagi is a fanboy.
All those little dances that Tsugumi does.
What I can say about this show? Amazing, one of my favorite animes in the season... scratch that. One of my favorites, period.
Okay, the final episode is just amazing. Everything I love about this series condensed into 20 minutes of win. I'm going to need a list!
- I like that the episode started with the somber shot of Kohei and Tsumugi mourning the Inuzuka mom. It makes Tsumugi's tantrum later on less aggravating. (Not that she's been annoying, heck, she's been an angel as far as little kids go)
- Kohei telling Tsumugi that he doesn't like scolding her hit me in the feels so hard. It's so true. I'm not even a dad, but it's so true.
- Next was Kohei talking to Kotori about Kotori's mom. Basically, tackling parenting problems from both the kid's and parent's perspectives. It was so sweet.
- Speaking of which, KOTORI'S MOM FINALLY GETS TO JOIN THEIR MEALS! And she really is an adorable muffin, just like her daughter. I can see why Yagi is a fan (heck look at him in the eyecatch! Fanboy). And when Kohei and her introduced themselves to each other my shipping senses went haywire.
- Last but not the least: okonomiyaki. It's a good dish to end the show with.
Weird. I thought they'd end at the manga chapter where Kotori's mom is about to reopen the shop but this story is also a good note to end on.
I can't wait to get home and watch it.
"Curry killed the pussy hoping that I could kill the hate in you" - Curry, D. "TABOO | TA13OO." TA13OO, PH, 2018This show was the most sugar inducing shit and I loved every second of it.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.I'm sorry, but that's sick and wrong. I mean, she's going to be his mother-in-law in few years! Have some basic decency!
Ew.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.Ah-haa. Such a pity it's already ended. But what an episode to end it on. It makes perfect sense that Tsumugi would be tense and stressed out after a day of morning, that the disappointment of not getting to make her own okonomiyaki would put her over the edge and that Kouhei wouldn't have the patience and energy either to deal with it properly. And of course with two people who are this close and unused to getting into this sort of fight, the tension lingers until it comes to a new outburst.
All very well done and this is why this is more than just a diabetics inducingly sweet show.
Not that I mind a bit of diabetics if it's this warm & fuzzy and getting to properly cook okonomiyaki with the whole gang as well as finally meeting Kotori's mum made for the perfect ending to this happy series.
But I still want to see more of it.
The manga is still going strong, and even if fan scans aren't your jam, Crunchyroll's simulpubing it and Kodansha is doing official english releases. The latter does a translation real good.
"Curry killed the pussy hoping that I could kill the hate in you" - Curry, D. "TABOO | TA13OO." TA13OO, PH, 2018If anyone's interested in perusing the manga, the last episode apparently corresponds to chapter 19. Someone please confirm that, hahaha.
It does. They skipped a few chapters though and rearranged some things.
