Seija, The Van
...Since this girl's statement didn't make sense in the macro, Seija took a logical route and tried to break it down into the micro. Take one step at a time, if you will.

  • Step 1: So, hating people so much you wanted to bash their brains in? Yes, that seemed reasonable, and what Seija was going for. Entirely what she expected Mary to feel, or most anyone in this van.

  • Step 2: Then, while hating them still, the idea that they couldn't be replaced? That one was...a little more out there, because what's the point of a long term hatred without a violent consummation? Why did she want to be subject to an amanojaku? That sounded more like one of her own kind's line of thinking than a human.

  • Step 3: She hates...and likes her? Seija found this kind of oxymoron troubling, but it seemed so simple that she must've been able to wrap her head around it. Hatred and Like, right? Hatred and Like. Nothing complex about saying it, so why didn't it make any sense? How can you despise someone and, dare she utter the word, love the same one at the same time? That kind of backwards logic would ne-

Oh, hold on, Seija had an answer. It was staring her in the face the whole time: Mary was an amanojaku. That kind of need to keep those who hate you around, combined with loving them just to piss them off, and she finally understood what she was getting at. She might still be a human, but she must have the mind of one. Nothing else made sense, so this case was closed!

This little pause of hers was mostly expressed outwardly with a few seconds of growing confusion, but in the end Seija looked like she had made a great discovery of her own, eyes twinkling as she figured out she was talking to a kindred soul. "I know what you're getting at, frenemy. Now, I need to know your name, so I can know who I'm gonna insult."

Asuka, the Party Van

Asuka, who'd arrived right at the end of the standoff and found herself unusually bereft of words, sees the guns being lowered and shifts from her frozen spot by the door, relaxing a white-knuckle grip on the machine pistol she'd lifted from one of the werewolves. Shirou still in tow, she makes an uneven bee-line to the nearest unoccupied bunk, and collapses onto her arse with little in the way of ceremony.

There's a handful of quiet moments as she stares at the gun in her hand, caught in a sort of thoughtless rumination, until her eyes flash up to Shirou's and she throws his wrist out of hand, almost as an afterthought. Something comes to her, and with an ineffectual savagery the point of her foot crumples against his thigh, more of a nudge than a disciplinary action.

"You can't go around calling people minxes, you idiot," she says, punctuating with soft attempt at a stomp. "It's, it's whatever year it is. You can't do that, okay? People are gonna think you're..."

The thought gets lost against the truth, which is that he probably is. Asuka shifts uncomfortably against it, one some deep-set level unable to release the pistol, and realises with a dulled horror that she probably won't be able to get back up again. She seems to be merging into the mattress.

Something else floats up through the fog, hazy and undefined, and her fingers brush against her cheek - there's nothing there, but she takes the act of checking as the decision in itself. Her free hand gestures past Shirou, just barely cuffing his elbow. Gunfire filters in from outside but barely registers, like a clock ticking away on the edge of hearing.

"Just, just go get me that medkit, okay?"

Lucina, the Van

After returning to her human form, Lucina had piled into the van after Asuka and Shirou, bracing herself for a tight squeeze - only to be pleasantly surprised by the miraculously spacious interior, her ears perking up from her head. If she hadn't already witnessed Ser Aryl and his group's brand of magic before she would have been dumbfounded. Now the self-propelling cart with the space of a small barracks squeezed inside was simply notable.

Steadying herself against the side wall as the vehicle moved off again, she looked around, taking stock. There was a tense atmosphere in the cabin - it seemed a few of the others had almost come to blows before her team had arrived - but that was fading now. What's more, there were still enemy forced pursuing them, but others more suited to that role were already engaging them.

A moment later, Scott would find a hand clapping him on the shoulder before he could start another standoff. "At ease, my friend." She said with a firm look and a smile, shooting Reimu a glance as well. "Let's just be glad we made it this far." Her free hand habitually settling onto her sword hilt, she half-turned to look around the cabin and called out, "Is anyone injured? Anyone unaccounted for?"

Carmilla & Sypha, Party Van!

Carmilla seemed to have moved to sit on Sypha's lap and looked to be enjoying herself in the new seat. Carmilla glared in the back as the priest used holy magic to heal someone in the back of the van. When Lucina entered into the van, Carmilla glanced over at her.

"Be careful, bunnygirl," Carmilla warned Lucina, pointing her head at Lady. "She's pretty eager to shoot nonhumans."

Team 3

"Alright, you feckless maggots! It's do or die time! The army ain't paying you louses to sit on yer asses and eat our money!" A higher ranked officer shouted at the soldiers crammed like sardines before him, face red like a tomato and throat muscles wiggling like earthworms in order to be heard above the loud whir of the rotors. Opening the side-door to let the natural airflow whip at the people inside, the man started gesturing out and specially equipped paratroopers next to the infiltrators began to jump out of the space once the flying machine was roughly parallel to the moving truck.

The soldiers hopping out of the various helicarriers would all begin to deploy a circular design with a hole cut into it, the perfect amount of fabric to survive a fall while having enough flow to hasten the descent onto moving targets. Before long, the surrounding area was a literal field of falling humans. With the sheer number of droppers making their way down, it wasn't long before a few soldiers would be able to physically latch onto the fast land based vehicle with their magnetic gloves and boots. The parachuters still in the air meanwhile were doing their best to get as close to the truck as possible while offing opposite members from the other armies, side arms whizzing about the air as a great majority bloomed blossoms of blood.

The Van

The people aiming out the window would be able to pick off the motorists, some falling to headshots and others being blasted off their bikes via bullets hitting something flammable. A particularly unlucky man got squashed underneath a boulder which proceeded to bounce a few more dozen feet before slamming into the hood of a jeep and flinging the seatbeltless riders sky high before gravity brought them back down to earth in a way that Humpty Dumpty could rather relate to.

Tali's Omnitool linking up to one of the systems would briefly blur about in fuzzy static and garbled numbers before the thing finally figured out the equivalent way to respond to the Quarian's system, after which things turned butter smooth. Tasks were streamlined and programs refitted to better enable survival in their specific situation, the truck even going so far as to to retract its wheels and enter a function that turned the thing into a hovervehicle, pushing off the ground and pushing off via thrust to speed up even faster as well as avoid the literal minefield the thing had all but swerved into. The followers behind the group would have a quite harder time though considering they were causing explosions to bloom irregularly on dint of not being able to leave the ground and triggering the mechanisms of the buried bombs.

"Alright, just a few more minutes and Rook's thing will be fully charged to break through the dimensional veil towards our next destination! Just hang in there and don't let anyone do something stupid like shoot bullets towards the dashboard!" As if to jinx the man's words, one of the various windows that were left open during everyone's crazy antics was grasped by a gloved hand and yanked open, a masked commando peering in briefly to spray a brief burst of lead in triplicate before being smashed back out by a particularly irate Jeda who was in his blind spot, the man's head tilted back in an impossible 165 degree angle..

"It's no worry, Miss. Anything to help out a fellow comrade in need." Giving a slight nod towards Elesis after taking care of the interloper nearby and furrowing his brows at the bullet holes in the interior of the area, the priest turned back to head towards the commotion that the newcomers were wrangling up. "And yes, I'm one of the newer members of the group in question, part of Team 4 which I believe is the last of the stragglers to trickle into this warzone. My name is Jeda Roxford, I'm a Paladin of the Priest Order, and my mission is to ensure that everyone here lives to fight another day."

Walking briskly and closing any window he found along the way while conversing with the warrior in red so that the shielding outside would prevent similar entry to invaders, Jeda was soon near the new flock. "Anyone who is injured, please come close and I'll attempt to heal you with my magic. In the interest of time, I propose people hurry up while we have the opportunity." A large runic circle bloomed under the prayers of the devoutly supplicating man, its functions doing what he stated in a large enough voice that was designed to be heard above the general din. "Also watch out for invaders, they've latched onto the outside of the truck so they might climb in through the unlocked windows and doors!"

Shizuka - The Party Bus

There was hardly any time between the Van pulling up to Team 1's location and opening up before a floating pair of sunglasses barreled their way through the doors. The large woman in the diving suit was hardly even a deterrent at this point. Shizuka didn't even take a moment to take in the interior of the vehicle, as she made a beeline for a seat and dived into it, fading pack into view with her shades resting on top of her forehead. The young girl was not doing a good job of hiding how freaked out she was by this situation.

And why shouldn't she be freaked out? She had been thrown into a warzone not long after witnessing giant wolves getting turned into chunks and then into people, in that order. Even if this was a strange vehicle, it was a place to stop and collect herself. After several deep breaths, the young Joestar finally took the time to look around, surprised at how spacious it was inside of there. Despite several groups of people piling inside of this thing, there was a lot of room to move around. This wasn't even everyone, since she couldn't find the red-haired Jack woman.

Actually wait a moment, there were a lot of unfamiliar faces milling about. A lot of people she did not recognize from the parking garage. A buff man with a beard, a girl with horns on her head, and a strait up goat lady being the first ones she noticed. like everyone else, they seemed just as tense and kind of lost. Slowly Shizuka's eyes widened as realization dawned on her on what this meant. She jumped to her feet and shouted "Holy Shit, seriously Will?! More people?" This meant these people were dragged in after the people she showed up with. If this system really had been sabotaged, then this could happen again. That meant there could potentially be infinite people whose lives will be ruined because someone was too much of a coward to save his own world.

Foxtrot 813- The Van-

As the motorcyclists fell one by one, Foxtrot heard the thud of something colliding on the roof of the vehicle. While he heard that this truck had a energy shield similar to the ones used in the Replica's E.P.A and REV 6 units, he assumed that it didn't had a electrifying field that blocked enemy targets from attempted boarding.

Manual extermination of the hostiles, then.

"Fuck!" He glanced at Lady. "You, help me in the roof of the vehicle! We can't shoot the motherfucking hostiles from the windows like this!" But before he left, he glanced at some of the group. "I'll appreciate the help of one psychic with us to stop the boarding of the vehicle, if possible, as they compose 95% of the group population!" With that said before Lady or anybody could say a word, Foxtrot sprinted off to the hatch of the van, holstering his assault rifle and then readying his SHO-3 shotgun.

Feeling his heightened reflexes come back, he found it to be the best time to use it right now, taking the boarders by surprise without them even knowing what hit them. Foxtrot climbed and opened the van hatch while using his reflexes, moving like a blur and quickly jumping on the roof of the van before they could open fire at him, as he started running and shooting at the boarders with his dangerous shotgun at a fast pace.

Mary-Van-Contradictory feelings.

"Mary, Mary Bromfield she told the demon girl. What about you? Don't tell me it is "Ms Satan"..." She smiled.

Even if they had been very little time together, Mary had been able to guess by her horns and the way Seija tried to make her feel angry made it obvious. She was an imp that tried to make others feel miserable. Mary hated how bad she had made her feel about herself. Regret and anger. And yet she couldn't help but like the honesty behind her. Humans often hid their horns behind fake smiles of friendship. Daggers behind their backs. But she proudly had them in her head.

"As for insults. What about emo girl or wangsty teenager I would hate that...maybe." She winked at her. Maybe she told her exactly what she hated the most.

Then after the priest's offer she asked Jeda. "I got some minor bruisers and my head hurts." She touches her forehead. "I'm not exactly dying... but if isn't a waste of your magic energy—she sighs-I would like to accept your offer.

Toriel - Van

She had kept to herself throughout the events that transpired, then the priest offered a helping hand with healing magic and she chimed in as well, "I shall help with the healing as well." She figured that if her fire magic can affect the body, then perhaps her healing magic would do so as well. After all, she didn't want to feel useless here, when she could trust others, even when others wouldn't do the same.

Seija, The Van
"Mary, huh? I'm Seija Kijin. It's...uh...great to meet you." Man, even if she was true-blue-amanojaku, Seija wasn't sure of how to address someone like her. Would she take insults like a human does, or would she inwardly welcome them? She needed to test the waters more before she could talk to her plainly.

As for her suggested insults, Seija groaned in a painful way and said "Aww, you should know it isn't gonna work if you just hand me the insults..."

Though, come to think of it, even if her knowledge of western culture was shaky at best, there was at least one thing she'd heard of. Thank the Lord for gullible priests in the outside world and their need to give free shit to homeless people, otherwise she'd never get this insult out: "Man, for someone named Mary, you don't dress like a virgin."

Leaving that sick burn to cool down, she looked over to the Jeda/Toriel Combo and called out, "My arm's in a bad shape, and I don't think I should be moving it to get over there. I'd say have the goat come over, but she'd probably break down crying when she saw it, right? Heh heh."

The Van

Delta grabbed onto the top of the window to brace herself along the outside of the van. She used her free hand to channel her Cyclone Trap plasmid, placing mini tornado traps on the roof that were meant to knock off any of the attackers who might step in them.

The Unicorn

Bastion used the power of wifi to tell the unicorn to continue following the van and doing its best to avoid trouble. He then stood up, and promptly sat back down, this time in his sentry configuration. After a momentary pause to take aim, the HK unit opened fire on the nearest helicopter with its Gatling gun.

Scott, Van

Scott's glare shot from Reimu to Lucina for a brief moment when she put her hand on his shoulder and told him to calm down, which quickly fell into an annoyed pout. He held her gaze for a second longer before he looked away and crossed his arms, still on his back on the floor. "...Fine."

Rolling over, the young man quickly jumped to his feet and dusted himself off. He glanced around, then looked over at Lucina. She was cute, now that she wasn't a weird rabbit. Slowly, a grin spread across his face. Now that they weren't running, he could give it another shot. He sidled up to the woman, acting casual and ignoring all the shouting going on. "So hey, why don't we go take a look around this thing? I mean, it's pretty crazy, right. Bigger on the inside and stuff. We might find something cool."

"Well then, ladies first, as they say?"

As soon as she felt the van was close enough, Jack-O' leaped out of the chopper, the ball and chain on her leg not slowing her down any. Trusting that her comrades were following her, she turned to take a gander at the helicarriers behind her. Counting down how many priority targets she had, she settled for taking out at least one with this next attack.

With a swing of the leg, Lantern detached and was thrown straight towards one of the attacking helicarriers; the intent being to slam right into it and burrow into the vehicle's hide (maybe even land in its interior), then having Bat release a massive amount of Fire magic, the resultant explosion, if Lantern had landed deep enough, hopefully being enough to clip the vehicle's metaphorical wings.

Naturally, Jack-O' hadn't aimed at the helicarrier she'd just jumped out of, her teammates could've still been in there.

Rock jumped out a few seconds after Jack-O' did, positioning himself in order to create as much controlled drag as possible. This is because, due to his incredibly heavy body, he was dropping at a much faster rate than anyone else. While Jack-O' attacked the flying enemies pursuing the van, Mega Man fired plasma shots at any ground forces pursuing the van and upon any of the parachuting soldiers that were getting close to the van. All the Robot Master could fire off were single shots, his rate of fall and the sheer number of enemies not affording his the luxury of getting off a charged shot.

Truck of Wonders

Nodding in assent at the people who wanted the healing of the body, Jeda took out a cross that wasn't meant to horribly bludgeon people into meat pulp and chanted in a low voice, a rumbling sound that was akin to the gravel bouncing down a mountain slope. A holy glow spread out from the holy symbol as it fed into the magic circle on the floor and then wisps of healing energies started funneling themselves into those who wanted succor. Everyone would feel their body regenerate at a speed noticeable to the naked eye, all hurts disappearing, wounds sealing, and even blood producing what was lost. The spell didn't even hurt, even erasing the dirt and grime from the battlefield and cleaning up people plus belonging atop the primary service...

Except Seija, she would feel every bit of pain that comes from the body reconnecting tissue and killing off impurities due to the priest "accidentally" forgetting to turn on the pain numbing function for the youkai. Though the religion that Jeda belonged to preached overall forgiveness for those who strayed, that was only applicable for those who later chose to repent and the amanojaku smelled suspiciously of ill intent in general to the holy man. The Cathedral Basilica didn't raise no fools after all, nosiree.

"There we go." Nodding in satisfaction, the man looked towards Mary before giving a shake of his head. "It's better to treat injuries when we are capable of doing so, even if they are seemingly small. If we have the power to prevent worse consequences from happening and choose not to do so, then it would simply be a tragedy. I am around and it is my job to cure ills and injuries, and so I shall."

It was during the healing ritual that something particularly strange happened, a heavy weight thumped down atop the roof like someone smashed a boulder down on it, the truck actually lowering by a few inches to scrape along the ground to emit sparks before the propulsion system righted itself. The source would turn out to be the Blue Bomber himself, his frame's great mass concentrated on a small enough point that it bucked the vehicle itself after falling from three hundred feet. Luckily for everyone involved the materials were sturdy and there was a shield in place, otherwise things would have gotten really hairy.

The helicarriers meanwhile would experience a great deal of trouble as a Blue Lantern crushed the rotors of one, Bastion's gatling gun tore into the cockpit of another, and the third bloomed into a fiery blossom courtesy of a metal Jack-o-lantern. All in all, three vehicles fell to the ground in a wrecked blaze, which greatly helped the group by stopping the flow of jumpers for the moment. The paratroopers themselves made for some rather juicy targets due to lack of cover and slowed speed of descent, and the men clinging to the truck itself suffered from the same problem of being on a flat incline moving at high speeds.

Still, for all the fact that they were easy targets that fell like wheat, there were plenty of meatbags in the vicinity which were also armed with machine pistols that had high rate of fire which they liberally shot towards anyone that could be described as eye-catching, the missed shells ricocheting off the shielded surface and ground wildly. Special attention was paid in particular to the previously undercover targets that had now revealed themselves to be part of the truck hijacking group due to wounded pride and great number of comrades taken down by their hands.

"Well, life gave us the biggest lemons it could get and we ain't got no damn sugar to make the friggen lemonade! Deal with it!" Will barked back as he massaged his temple, nerves frazzled enough as it was that he couldn't help but snap at the invisible girl questioning their competence. "Anyways, the dimensional capacitor's at 99 percent and it'll only be a minute before we can pilot a route out of this universe so tell everyone to get their asses on this truck or else they'll be left behind! Preferably inside too or else the space-time corridor will utterly destroy every subatomic particle of their very being!" After that was said, a rather big countdown timer was seen displayed just about everywhere in the vehicle's interior that had enough room. "59...58...57..."

Toriel - The Van

She had reached a hand to see the injured yokai, but as she made a rather biting comment to the incident, she decided that she would rather the priest heal her instead. And so he did, along with everyone else. She had thought about making a comment back about her probably wincing in pain, but she didn't wish to stoop to her level.

She had heard from Will that the vehicle was going to some other dimension, but it would take a minute to do so. She had hoped everyone had been accounted for since their skills, no matter how unsavory, could be useful.

She had began to notice that the room was larger on the inside than the outside, never mind the technology. Perhaps some spacial alteration magic applied to make it so. If so, that would definitely help her store some extra food, clothes, books, snails, whatever she needs. She was lost in thought for a moment before she reminded herself that this was probably not the best use of her time.

She was slouching pretty hugely against the wall and had kicked her feet up on top of the back of the seat in front of her, but that was probably as close to 'sitting properly' as one could expect of the girl).

When she heard that the dimensional jump was imminent, she breathed a sigh of relief. At last, they were finally getting out of this godforsaken place!

... Then, after a second's consideration, she thought better of it.

"Shit, this is all about to go tits-up, isn't it?" Ami muttered darkly, bracing herself for the (as she saw it) inevitable last-minute disaster.

Tali'Zorah - Mako 2.0

Tali was relieved to have guessed correctly, their transport had some kind of VI that could interface with her own system, though hers was probably laughably primitive in comparison, but evidently she had managed to help in some way. At least it wasn't quite as bumpy a ride anymore. People who could provide medical attention were giving it, those who had good ranged weapons were providing covering fire out the windows and roof and it seemed as though they were staying ahead of the majority of their pursuers. And then Will made another announcement of impending doom. This time, she barely blinked, but instead flicked away from the screen where she was struggling to improve the transport's performance still further and back to comms. This time she just broadcast on all frequencies. Who knew what the others still outside might be listening to?

The Van, Everyone's Together Again!

Seeing that her attack hit right on the mark, Jack-O' turned her attention to the next pressing matter.

Chanting a Float to secure her landing on the van was out of the question, she didn't need to be an easier target than she already was. A Barrier would be the go-to spell for this situation, but it would not guarantee her safe landing on the van. Casting them both at the same time? Get outta here; in a high-adrenaline situation like this, something that complicated was a little past the human mind.

She decided she'd simply have to cast the Barrier and hope for the best. She tried to shift her momentum towards the van's roof access whilst the Barrier shielded her from machine gun fire, but by herself, there was still the chance she'd miss her mark.

("C'mon...")

A few seconds after Rock landed on the van, Jack-O' stuck her own landing. Just barely, as her hand clutched to the back of the van's roof with as much force as she could muster. The sheer amount of strength she applied might have put a tiny hand-imprint shaped dent in the van as well. As she hung on, her body thrashed about in the wind and sheer turbulence, making her an easier target to machine gunners despite her previous efforts.

"Little help please!"

Van Surfing

As soon as Mega Man landed on the van, he immediately went to work punching out and non-fatally tossing any paratroopers that Foxtrot missed, making sure to disconnect their magnetic boots so he did not accidentally rip out their feet in the process.

"Only two more," Rock answered Foxtrot. "I think everyone else got snapped back." The replicant would be surprised at how calm the Robot Master sounded, casually talking while fighting soldiers first at hand to hand and then firing upon at both incoming paratroopers and at any pursuing vehicles with his Mega Buster.

When Jack-O' landed by barely hanging on the edge of the van's back, Mega Man carefully walked over, grabbed her by the wrist, yanked her up, and then carried her to the roof hatch to drop her into the van. The Robot Master would continue to fire upon enemies until Walker went into the van before he himself jumped in.

Atop The Van

Now hovering above the van, Walker looked down over the van. He created a shield construct and floated down to the top of the van, touching down much more gently than his allies. As he landed he pushed his construct outwards, trying to push any remaining paratroopers away. Rock having already helped Jack-O' in, he flew to the hatch and dropped in.

Last One In

When Walker flew in, Mega Man charged up his Mega buster and fired one last charge shot at one of the larger pursuing vehicle before hopping down into the van.

After landing, Rock looked around. "Oh wow, this place is bigger on the inside!" he said. "This like the fourth time I've been to a place like this!"
