Lady (Van)-Healing hurts

Lady glared at Susan with rage in her eyes, a dozen biting retorts going through her head before Delta's finger on her shoulder brought her mind back to the current situation. Now was not the time to get into an insult match with a demon.

"Whatever." She said dismissively as she turned back to the window. "Let's get the hell out of-GAH!"

Before she could finish her sentence, a surge of pain went through Lady's injured leg for a moment before something came out of it and clattered to the floor. Anyone looking closely would see a very bloody bullet, slightly flattened from the impact, had been ejected from her leg.

"Damn it, I hate that part." She muttered in an annoyed tone. "Ok, time to go." Suddenly, Lady remembered something, and very reluctantly addressed Susan as she reached for the gas peddle with her foot.

"What direction are the rest of the people that were with you in?" She asked in a tone that might have given away the remainder of the unsaid sentence. Assuming you didn't kill them all.

Susan, The Van
Susan's returned glare only ended when Delta calmly reminded her that they had more important things to be angry about. As much as she hated that term, it was downright childish to get mad over some petty thing like that right now. She broke her stare when Lady did, and sighed.

With that only partially settled, Susan planned on leaving for the back cabin until Lady screamed with pain and managed to eject a bullet all on her own. Man, that really was some fast-acting healing on her part!

Then, in response to her question, Susan's mood brightened just a little bit, and she replied "Directly in front of us. Half of them split up to try and help win this fight, but the rest should be in a safe spot about...half a mile from here, maybe?"

Seija, Moving Away from The Cliff at High Speeds
"That's good, then," she said to the two flight capable members of her team, giving them a thumbs-up. Her voice became increasingly more jaunty as she kept talking because she could only barely contain herself now. "I hope you two can figure out how to change to those forms or whatever, because I'm not waiting for the rest of you!"

Without warning, she immediately flew off the cliff and straight towards the van in the distance at cruising speed. The only thing these poor souls had to remember Seija by was an echoing call of "See ya later! Hope you don't all die without me!"

Bastion glanced up at Seija as the distance quickly increased. "Analysis: The meatbag appears to have selflessly volunteered to as a distraction for enemy infantry and anti-aircraft installations. Her sacrifice will be appreciated," he said. "According to the situation report from our mysterious benefactor, the evacuation vehicle will approach our position. Recommendation: Find cover and draw your weapons."

Taking his own advice, he hunkered down prone along the cliffside near cover and took up a sniping position, ready to fire at enemy soldiers that might be firing on the 'special vehicle'.

"You backstabbing bitch!" The goth teen shouted after Seija announced her intent. She then Shoot three bullets at their fleeing "friend." They all missed. Intentionally?

"If I ever see her again." She muttered to herself with a frown on her face.

She then reloaded her gun. Following Bastion's suggestion, she also hid behind something solid, by crawling. Unlike Bastion her back was behind the cover, as she just dared to peek at the coming vehicle while trying not to be seen.

Lucina - Team 1 an 2

The final charge was at hand, and Lucina sprang forward with the others, boots pounding the road beneath her. She did somehting strange, however - she sheathed her sword, her face set in concentration as she pulled something else from within a belt-pouch - her beast-stone.

With a grunt of effort, she leaped forward into the air, the stone flashing with a light that obscured the girl's form for a few second. What landed at the end of her leap was not the bunny-eared girl, but a rabbit-like creature, lean and sleek and the size of a small horse, Falchion's scabbard still slung across the back of one powerful thigh.

With her powerful bounding steps, the taguel soon caught up with Scott and Reimu, announcing her presence to the unfortunate soldiers guarding the artillery truck by planting her front feet, swinging her body around and slamming both of her hind feet into a man's chest.

Scott, Team 1 and 2

Scott's grin at his successful sneak attack turned to a disgusted grimace as his blade wedged itself grossly into his opponent's head. There was something seriously wrong with this world, they were supposed to burst into coins! This was just... messy and gross.

He was so wrapped up in his disgust and trying to dislodge his blade from the man's head, that he failed to notice the second man aiming at him. Only pure luck saved him, when Scott yanked on his new sword especially hard, and pulled the body into the path of the shot. The sudden gunfire startled Scott, and made him scream. Spotting the man past the corpse, he yelled and thrust the exposed tip of the blade forward at the man and stabbing him through the eye before he could get a better shot. With both men dead, he focused on dislodging his blade.

A brief struggle saw Scott standing over the dead body as he used his foot for leverage. With one last pull, the blade came free with a weak noise and covered in bits of brain and other gore. Scott dry heaved slightly. "Oh, that's gross."

He quickly wiped the blade clean on the man's clothes, and turned back towards the fight. And that's when a giant rabbit thing hit the ground nearby and then kicked the shit out of a man. Scott was bringing his sword around, when he noticed a familiar sword strapped to its thigh. His mind grinded to a halt, and he stared blankly for a moment. "Lucina? Are you- you're a giant rabbit thing now. Did... did one of the werewolves bite you?" The young man sounded genuinely concerned.

That made sense, right? Yeah, werewolves bites transferred their disease in movies and stuff. It had to be. But wait, she had those rabbit ears before. Was she- was she a giant rabbit pretending to be a person?

Lucina - We're going to have to have the bunny talk

Lucina turned her head to face Scott, her long ears swiveling around as she monitored the battle around them. In this form, the taguel's eyes actually glowed a faint red,

"No, I was not bitten..." the princess' voice still sounded from somewhere in the vicinity of the big rabbit-creature, although it had a slight echoing effect. She cocked her head slightly in confusion. His concern was touching, but injuries from a previous fight seemed like an odd thing for the boy to focus on, all things considered. "Do not worry, this transformation is simply something I can do. I shall explain later."

Scott - Not sure how to feel about the rabbit-girl now being more rabbit than girl

Scott jolted when the familiar voice seemed to start emanating from somewhere near the rabbit, but his body untensed slightly. He sighed, and grinned. "Phew, that's good. I was worried you might have gone rabid or crazy like new werewolves do, and I'd have to stab you. That wouldn't have been pretty."

While he wouldn't have minded fighting the woman, there was a strange sense of relief at not having to possibly kill her. And an even stranger sense of reluctance to hurt a girl. He frowned at himself for a moment, before pushing the thoughts aside.

Foxtrot nodded at Bastion's suggestion, and moved out. He quickly slid to cover and took out his assault rifle, looking down at his ACOG sights at the streets while waiting for the vehicle to arrive.

He would have to make sure to attempt to contact those inside it once they were closer.

Walker - Team 3

The Blue Lantern dimmed his aura, which would have been far too obvious in a crowd but the spell managed to disguise some of it so he didn't have to turn it off completely. When they came to the soldiers he wasn't sure what to do; following the soldiers could lead them to where they wanted to go but it also made further combat much more likely and he definitely wished to avoid that. As he walked along, Walker mulled on the nature of the soldiers' emotions; it was hope certainly but in a rawer form, coloured by desperation. He had seen similar with the Green Lantern Corps, especially near the end, but it made it more difficult to simply ignore the conflict, despite their priorities lying elsewhere. For now, at least, they continued onwards and the the team would have to run with whatever happened.

Oh, wow, Little Miss Swears-a-lot. And she's falling. Guess that's what you get for swearing. I should really tell Soryu. This looks like it's gonna hurt.

"Hey, Soryu?"

Right in the truck. Neat. That sure is a lot of blood coming from that van over there. Smells beefy, just like my eye. The black one.

"Do you think we could make a run for that van? I mean, that is a lot of blood. Looks real slippery. And it's all over the wheels and stuff."

I squint.

"Looks pretty packed, too. Is that the Lady Lady?"

A man points a gun at me, so I shoot Fang through his left lung and out his back. He splats, bits bubbling from the huge hole where his side used to be in a stew of red-white-brown. Chunky.

"Great job, Fang."

"Whatever," says Fang, thudding into the ground with folded arms and unimpressed face.

"Ooh, you little minx. Don't make me batter you. 'Cos I hate to tell you this, but I'm not hungry for tempura... bones."

I glance at Soryu, then pretend I didn't say that out loud.

"Hey, Soryu, look. Blue Bunny actually is a bunny. I guess that makes her Big Blue Bunny."

Elesis (Now Entering: Van) - Tactical Retreat

It took a fair amount of time for Elesis to notice that the rest of her companions were entering the vehicle one by one, but in the end she did notice not only that her teammates were rushing inside, but that her enemies were heading directly towards it as well. Understandably, she also darted towards it; the very last thing she wanted was to be left behind.

Her sprint did temporarily come to an abrupt halt when a soldier actively tried to block her way, with his arms and legs outstretched to cover as much space as possible. Under normal circumstances, she would not have treated differently from any other soldier; but a quick look at his face and his pants revealed that he was in fact completely terrified. So she decided to be somewhat gentler with that man.

She violently kicked him in the groin and shoved him to the side, leaving him on the floor curling in pain while she started running once more.

Before long, the bloodied woman made her way into the vehicle, where she simply awaited near the door for whoever was left to get inside, and to keep any and all unwanted guests out as well. They only needed to hold their ground for a few more moments.

Rock silently followed the rest of the army as the illusion scroll allowed him and the team to blend in. He knew that whenever there was an army forming or some other type of congregation, it also meant some kind of big event was to occur. Since much of the current conflict involved the Rook's mobile base, Rock also predicted that the chances of them finding it wold be 50/50 at best.

As tempted as the Robot Master wanted to ask just to make sure they were headed in the right direction, he did not want to risk blowing his or his team's cover.

Teams 1 and 2

Lady would find that the keycard would eventually click into what looked like a small card-reading slider, one that would suddenly turn on the inside of the truck. The controls that looked overly complicated and sci-fi in general would give the whole group a scan with a small device before having the dashboard shift into the analogue of a twenty first century equivalent.. The scanning upon detecting the bleeding of the group members would also pop open a slot from the wall to reveal a lunch-box sized first aid kit not too far off what hospitals had. A monitor would spring up to words saying "shield capacity: 72%". Each time a bullet would lodge itself into the vehicle proper, it would simply bounce off but the percentage would go down a few decimal points each time.

Her frantic stepping onto the gas would reveal a rather nice surprise though- the truck could go from zero to fifty in 2.2 seconds so she performed what was basically a high speed ram through a few throngs of soldiers. Windshields automatically came online to clear away gore now staining the windows, whatever futuristic tech put into making them proclaiming superiority over modern day equivalents. The g-force within the truck however would be like someone pulling into the parking lot, nice and steady with no sudden momentum flinging things about. The same couldn't be said for any people outside or on the truck though.

The unicorn would find itself missing the suddenly moving truck by a wide margin though it would simply land before dashing off after the thing with boosters sprouting from its haunches- the speed spiking up once more to attempt to catch up with the grand theft auto performed. A whirring sounds could be heard as the horn on the robotic copy of the mythological animal began spinning, heat building up in the apparatus that began to scorch the very air itself before a heat beam the size of a grown man's fist flashed forward in an attempt to cripple the wheels of the fleeing multiversal truck.

Team 1 would find themselves quickly being on the winning side of the battle as they took out the nearby defenders of the artillery truck, offing off the nearby guards with the ease of both strategic timing and a powerful blitzkrieg. Now with the enemy long range weapon's platform under their control, it would be up to the group as to whether they would destroy it to keep it from falling into the hands of others or using it for themselves to sow havoc on the battlefield. Still, whatever decision they went for would have to be picked fast as the truck was barreling at top speeds in their general direction with a throng of angry people rushing after it

Team 3

The group of transformed dimensional travelers disguised as soldiers were easily able to mix into the throngs of rapidly rushing groups, most people only giving them a once over before continuing on their mad dash towards who knows where. The destination made itself known quite well in a bit, what appeared to be a long road that led to what was presumably a firefight of rather epic proportions if the sound of whizzing bullets, explosions, and artillery would be known.

"Alright guys, you're the last people to make it to the party and if you continue onto this path you should eventually end up near where Teams 1,2, and 4 have appeared- though all of them are in various distances from the truck in question. Your mission is simple, to aid in the successful retrieval of the truck as well as boarding it so everyone can finally leave this blasted hellhole of a world." Will's voice spoke up once again from any communications system his signal could worm into.

Team 4

After seeing the deserting Seija and the massacre of the deserter by a certain war droid, Jeda couldn't help but grab the side of his head with a large palm before shaking his head to get back into the game, only letting out a small grunt of disgust at what he was seeing. "Those of you who are feeling lucky, feel free to grab on for a free ride." After stating his intentions, the Priest began clenching and unclenching his hand a couple of times, each succession springing forth an additional bubble of glowing barriers until he had a half dozen shields erected about him. "There are very potent barriers about my person which can tank a fair amount of damage from any source though my movement speed won't be as fast as a specialist excelling in speed. Still, I can guarantee flight is an option. People who are planning to stay in this entrenched position should attempt to relay the coordinates of this potential escape route to the truck drivers so they could pick up the snipers"

Sprouting white wings like those of a giant dove's from his shoulder blades spanning a few meters, the chiseled giant of a man waited for a few seconds to let anyone take his offer before launching into the air and soaring towards the truck in question. Holy spears and light bombs would then be flung down every now and then to harass the ground-bound enemies, the shields more than doing their job by deflecting the hails of bullets headed his way while causing curses and screams of agony to erupt from the trail of soldiers that he flew above of.

Needless to say, the giant winged and glowing man made a rather fetching target but his boasts about the shielding were true- it was a damn hard task to drop the guy since he could simply replace the broken layers. Still, it would be best to land soon since the techniques weren't the most mana saving of abilities. The people remaining behind to snipe away would find a throng of easy targets once the truck began speeding away from the encirclement, key personnel such as commanders and specialized units armed with anti-vehicle weapons standing out from the mooks around them.

The Van

Delta grabbed the first-aid kit and started looking through the contents. Most of it wasn't particularly useful immediately, although one item stood out. She grabbed a tube of triple-antibiotic ointment and gripped it hard in her right hand, causing the contents to explode out of the small plastic container and onto her left gauntlet. From her position behind the driver's seat, she snaked her left arm through the gap between the seat and the side of the van, and reached for Lady's injured leg to smear the substance onto it.

Team 4

Seeing an opportunity, Bastion scrambled to run towards Jeda, then jumped to grab onto his leg with his left hand. "Statement: The meatbag does not need to concern himself with friendly fire diminishing his barriers. My Droid Assassin's rifle is modified to bypass shields and will therefore cause you no trouble. Now if you will excuse me, I wish to exterminate a certain meatbag," he said pointedly with the slightest hint of delight in his monotonous voice.

Keeping the sniper rifle charged up in his right arm as he dangled below, he focused his aim towards a certain unicorn-riding man and started firing at his torso.

Foxtrot 813- Team Four

As the Truck got close enough to their position and saw some of the enemy forces charging, Foxtrot found it best to tell those that are on his "team" that they are currently helping them...he somewhat missed the extremely organized teamwork of his fellow Replica Soldiers.

He used his helmet's secured frequency to contact those inside it, hopefully they would atleast have something like radios or even cell phones to receive his attempt to contact them. Those with more advanced interfaces like HUD's would see a image of Foxtrot apper as he spoke to them.

"This is Replica Soldier Foxtrot 813." He stated in his stoic and monotone voice. "Do not attack those who are near the cliffs and the man, the woman and the sentient REV 6 Powered Armor unit flying nearby as we were taken too like you. We will give you covering fire against the hostiles and attempt to group up with you. Foxtrot 813 out."

With that said and done, Foxtrot then immediately went to fire at some of the enemy with the advantage of the high ground, mainly focusing fire with his assault rifle on those with anti-armor as he wouldn't want the truck to be easily destroyed

He really could use a EPA unit right now.

Toriel - Team 4, soon to be Team 1, 2, 3, 4

The queen had witnessed a few of her compatriots had taken flight, including the priest of which she took his right hand to join him. She looked on at the site below her, the armies taking heavy damage, the team occupying a truck, and finally, the path ahead to where the mobile base is located. In a way, seeing an angelic figure similar to the depiction of the mythical Delta Rune seemed almost majestic, yet instead of liberating the monsters, it, or rather he, was laying waste to the soldiers to clear a path for her new "friends."

She thought to herself, attempting to block out the noises of the conflict below, if she ever meets this Rook, perhaps she might have the solution to destroying the barrier, stop the rebellion, and make things right with him, all without the risk of a second war. But that is for a later time, now, she has to prove herself worthy enough to survive, even if she must do the unsavory, even in the conditions of which she can no longer attack the soul.

She must be filled with determination.

The goth girl crawled close to Foxrot's side after he had finished using his coms. She then looked for a rock to cover herself near him.

"I won't let you have all the fun, besides it looks like you know what you're doing," she told Foxtrot.

That's when she noticed the magical priest passing above them as a now, winged figure.

"Show off," she said about Jeda with a smirk, after he started to see the priest use his magical might against their enemies.

Her weapon was a pistol and unlike Foxrot's assault rifle, she didn't have the luxury of having as much ammo per clip or a scope.

Her shots had to be more calculated and slower.

Instead she tried to shoot at the mooks and the higher ranking officers while aiming at their heads. Each time she shoot, she hid to avoid being spotted.

She was sweating and having a hard time to breath slowly to not ruin her aim. But she still managed to hide her fear from her face but not the adrenaline rush that made her heart beat faster. She seemed to be almost emotionless, if slightly angry.

"You know, I've always wanted an excuse to do this," she commented to the replicated soldier.

Tali - Team One - The Battle

The fight was brutal, short, and one-sided. And no matter how many times Tali reminded herself that was the only kind of fight you wanted to get into, it still gnawed at her that their enemies died like that, without ever having a chance. They were just doing what they were told, fighting in a war they'd been taught was the whole world, for all their friends and people they knew who had died for them. They were stupid and ignorant and very, very brave. And now they were dead.

They were set to get out of here, if that big truck careening down the road towards them was any indication. She fervently prayed to every Ancestor that ever was that they had a good driver for it. Shepard and the Mako between them must have shortened her life by years and she didn't want to lose any more. But then, there was the big artillery piece they had just taken. They couldn't have it raining down fire on their heads as they escaped. She slapped her shotgun against the mag-patch at the base of her spine and let it stick there and begin folding up for storage as she turned her full attention to the big gun. Trying to use it was out of the question, even if she had a program that could take control, there was no time to calibrate it for accuracy and get used to how it worked. But if there was something that could make it or its ammunition explode, that would give them an excellent way to briefly delay pursuit.

"I'm going to try and rig this gun to blow," she told the others with her without looking up from her work. "One of you flag down our friends as they pass and make sure they don't miss us! If I can't do it, we need to find some way to break this thing before we go."

Susan, The Van
With directions given and places being gotten to, there wasn't much left for Susan to do besides wait out the rest of the mission, really. Maybe scope out the rest of the base, and see if they had something she could cook a victory meal with. After all that work, she was sure people would be grateful for the food, even if it came out of nowhere.

She was about to leave the cabin when Elesis walked in, covered in blood. She was about to ask if she had accidentally splattered her with her impromptu blood cannon, but the hatch opened right above her and something climbed inside. Without thinking, Susan held her arms out and caught...whatever it was.

Seija, Trying Desperately To Get Away From Team 4
The screaming and narrowly missing bullets coming from her "allies" sure was a good way to know that they cared about her. Laughing to herself and no-one else in particular, she could imagine that maybe even in a world of psychopaths they could have some kind of mutual misunderstanding like this! She flipped herself over and, even if she was a good distance away now, waved back...

To the suddenly winged priest giving chase, firing wildly in front of him.

That's not good at all! Both in the good meaning of that phrase, and the not-good meaning as well. If she had angered them enough to have them chase after her, that was one thing, but at the same time she didn't want to take on all of them at once!

Seija looked back forward and sped up to her maximum, flying straight towards the now in-transit van. Even with a few people spotting her and deciding that the random teenager in the skies was their most important target, she was fast enough to put cover in between them before they could riddle her with bullets. Flitting between ruined towers, she made it to the main center of action: many people, a blood geyser, a large rabbit, a mechanical unicorn and a few other things which were all converging towards her goal.

With only a hundred feet or so between her and the van, she threw caution to the wind and flew forward, before she was thrown off-balance by the sudden and extreme pain in her arm. Whether it was intentional or just a stray shot from someone, a small piece of lead had burrowed deep into her right arm and nestled itself in there, presumably intending to hibernate for the winter!

It didn't take much longer before Seija unceremoniously thudded against the roof near the front, hanging on for dear life with her good limb as the base haphazardly drove forward. Even if the pain was almost blinding, she was still there enough to open the hatch in front of her. And good thing, too, because this hatch definitely qualified for "child safe" with how overly complex this latch was. If it was any situation except "bleeding out while on top of a careening automobile" she might've taken less time to get inside, but alas.

Finally opening it, she pulled herself inside and fell into a very odd pair of arms.

Seija and Susan, The Van
Both people involved were very confused by the other, Susan wondering why this person had climbed in from the top and not the side, and Seija wondering what the fuck was the thing she was being held by, but both of them realized a much simpler truth: "Hey, she's got horns too."

A little bit of bewildered staring on both ends, Seija grunted, "Get the hell off of me," which Susan almost complied with, before seeing the state of her arm. Whatever bullet had gotten through there must've been a larger caliber, her arm was completely torn up above the elbow and bleeding profusely.

Quickly, she laid her down on the floor of the van and called over to Delta, saying "Hey, bring that over here! Lady can heal, this one's really hurt!" Seija, not liking the sudden positive attention she was getting, weakly said "What? No, I'm fine. Piss off already," which fell on Susan's deaf ears.

Having activated the scroll, Jack-O' allowed herself an amused giggle before moving on. She never got the chance to see herself look like a woman in the army, and with what little work she had done with the Holy Order, she had long decided that she liked being a bounty hunter. Seeing herself in fatigues like these seemed so strange. As her thoughts of the Holy Order persisted, they inevitably came to a certain young knight.

Her frown was a deep one, memories of Ky were bad ones, and she would often berate herself for being so attached to them. And with thoughts of Ky, came thoughts of her as well.

When she heard Will's voice, she shook her head and reconfigured her expression back to her default, a fascinated smile, always eager to know more. She wasn't going to let herself be left behind in her ghosts, and so she kept walking, her mission objective doing well in keeping her occupied.

Even so, anyone who paid attention would see her upset, contemplating face before it fell.

Lady (Van)-Incoming call

If it was not for the fact that Lady's hands were quite occupied driving the van, she would have furiously swated away Delta's hand as soon as she touched her. As it was, she just reflexively tried to move her leg away, with limited results due to the wounds and the fact she was sitting in a chair.

"Damn it, you wanna warn me next time before you start spattering whatever the hell this goop is all over my leg? I get you're trying to help, but I'm fine, that will heal on its own without any intervention on your part." Then the larger demon said something about additional injuries. Lady did not even bother looking back to see who was injured as she said "if someone else is hurt, worry about them and keep your hands off of me. Thanks."

Then her phone rang. She gave the phone a funny look, confused about who the hell was calling her as she picked it up. After hearing the message, she shook her head as a look of annoyance crossed her face

"Oh great. Apparently there's even more of these people out there these assholes dragged in. Meaning more demons, probably. Joy." She muttered as she lifted the phone back to her ear.

"Ok, Will, if you can hear me, two things. First, I don't know who the hell you think you are, but I did not give you permission to hand out my personal cell number to every random person you recruit. That's my number to give to who I decide deserves it, not yours, so cut it the hell out. Second, if you expect me to find any of these people in a reasonable timeframe, it'd be really great if you could send some GPS coordinates or something to my phone so I can get more exact directions."

The Vehicle Of Many Names

Delta took her hand back from Lady, and threw the used-up tube of off-brand Neosporin out the window. She stood up and stomped on over the to back where Susan was manhandling some girl with horns and an injured arm. Glancing over Seija, it seemed as if the girl actually was in some pretty rough shape and would need some tending to. Unfortunately, she would need to make things worse before they could get better.

"GRARGHGHGHGHRAAAWRHGHGHGHGH!" she murmured as gently and tenderly as she could, which was about on-par with the sound of an engine with the muffler removed. Knowing what was going to come next, Delta opened up the first-aid kit fully and set it on the floor next to Seija, and prepped the bandaged, ointments, creams, splints, tape, and other items that she was going to need.

She shot out her left hand at Seija's arm with a hard grip, one meant to keep the limb absolutely still. Her right hand grabbed the disinfectant and set to work.

Mission Almost Complete, Team 3

Rock nodded at Rock's message. At least this first mission would be almost over. The Robot Master then noticed Jack-O''s expression. "You okay?" he asked her.

Susan and Seija, The Van
Seija had an idea in her head that "Delta" must've been one of these freaks, but she sincerely hoped it wasn't the metal giant rubbing that woman's leg. With the laws of karma being as they are, her fears weren't unfounded. Terrified as the giant bellowed before walking over to her, and being in no shape to protest, she said "What the hell is that?" Susan, always the helpful one, replied "That's just Delta. She's very nice, so please don't move."

"She's kind = don't move" didn't parse as an acceptable phrase in the amanojaku's mind, so she tried futilely to get away from here, even if these were supposed to be their allies. Like hell they were allies, look at them! Even if the one leaning over her looked like some emaciated mockery of an oni, she tried to say something, only to be intercepted by the dull end of one of her claws covering her mouth, and Susan shushing her.

"If you keep moving like that," she said as Delta laid out her array of supplies, "you're only going to hurt yourself more than you have to. Don't." Even if Susan didn't mean anything of it, her choice of words combined with her kind voice and smile only made Seija wonder if she had jumped into the wrong van. When Delta grabbed her arm, she tensed but was unable to do much more with it. Staring at the giant scuba-diver, she frightfully awaited whatever kind of medical treatment she was about to receive.
