"Oh, thank you..." He sniffs a bit.

"...Okay?" Ada says. Betcha I'm going to completely forget about that bit before it becomes relevant. If it becomes relevant.

"I take it... You've never heard of the tsukumogami?", she asks.

"Seeing as today is my very first foray into the paranormal, no. I probably haven't heard of a lot of things."

"Huh.. I see. Well, that's why I've made a decent living as a mercenary."

Mikaela walks around the room a bit without aim and continues, "I may be "behind" in the age of all these fancy gatling guns and whatnot, but you wouldn't believe how many of those "modern" mercs are easy to just laugh off the thought of, say, an umbrella coming to live and trying to strangle people."

Erika takes a note of the newcomer's sobbing, before nodding. "I think I can see how this'd make things complicated, and I know it probably is not going to help the mood any, but... I can't exactly get going back to my home either... and kinda for multiple reasons besides the one you are about to see." She then slithers back in, originally having wanted to keep the masquerade, but for one reason or another, she was moved to sympathy. "I was originally going to try passing it off as a person merely poking out the door, but..." She cut herself off with the sentence, looking a bit shameful like a dog that wound up doing a bad thing and was getting scolded for it.

"...but anyways, the name's Erika. You?" She picked back up, feeling as though she'd like to learn a bit more as she opens up her journal, only to realize she's looking at the back of the journal, before quickly flipping back to the front. It's probably safe to say Erika's planning on keeping names in the journal.

"Yikes. That's... creative." It was at this point that I realized that this woman has killed people. And also that magic exists, but mostly that I was having a candid conversation with a murderer.

Weird how I sometimes think in the past-tense for no reason.

"Um... Did I offend you in any way?", asked Mikaela, looking a bit worried.

"Uh... nah. I'm fine. Heh. How many confirmed kills you got?" Ada says with a nervous smile.

"Yeah, most gun are harmless to some of the supernatural. Others pretty much do not care about blunt force or edges. But still, the veil exists for a reason." Nina laughed for a moment, then she continues. "Well, and some are seldom unarmed, even if they look unarmed."

"Confirmed kills?", Mikaela said, tilting her head, "I don't really kill all that much, I usually incapacitate people when necessary. I've only really killed some of the more eldritch beings I've encountered, or a wanted monster if necessary. I don't really keep count, generally."

"Yup!" ^_^

Kit sits in one of the chairs. "I kind of noticed, but I'm not gonna judge." She takes the hood off. "I'm Kit. Used to have a different name. But Kit is who I am now." "And I'm Sekhmet." "She's the one who made me this way." "Well...I didn't have much choice, to be honest."

"Mm. I'm guessing you do some wizardry or some-shit to compensate for your lack of firearms?"

At least a few of them have all gathered in one place now. Could that be everyone there?

She saw the catgirl and naga lamia yuan-ti snakewoman conversing, she saw Ada (or blanket girl) conversing with one of the sellswords, mercenaries, whatever they go by, possibly the only guy in the house just sneezed, one of the sisters had something to say about that, another girl was talking...mostly to herself? And one of the girls was looking around for something earlier, she had just remembered.

She couldn't quite nail down what the girl could have been looking for, but from the looks of it — phone out and searching the premises thoroughly for her something despite never being at the mansion before — it seems the girl wants a Wi-Fi signal. Feh.

...wait, her PDA, it had a hotspot on it...

...shoot.

Quickly, Joanna reaches into her bag and pulls out her PDA. She doesn't care if the girl hadn't caught on to her signal, she will eventually, and that is something she does not need.

"Not exactly.", Mikaela explained, "My yumi and supply of kodachi serve me well enough if I need to attack from a range. It's all in the technique."

Erika emits a sigh, nodding and looking relaxed. "That's good to hear you're not judging me for who I am... a group kinda... did, hence my flee from the previous town." She then coils up as though she was going to sit down to the best of her abilities. "Nonetheless, pleased to meet you." She mentions, meaning her words to Kit and Sekhmet sincerely.

By this time, Deltora has returned back to the ballroom, if anyone remembers where that was, due to being sick of aimlessly wandering around the mansion with nothing else going on. And so, she's now seated in the ballroom, staring up at the chandelier, hoping that someone might show up sometime so she wouldn't have to be alone.

Kit seems to relax a bit herself. "It's been...good to meet you too." She takes off her jacket. "Out of curiosity, did you happen to see a bathroom around here?"

Erika shakes her head. "Unfortunately, I have not found such a facility myself." She admits. "...I would think near what I think are bedrooms would be a good place to look, but... so many doors, I kinda am not sure if it'd be there of all places. Hopefully, the architect wasn't angry or something like that." She notes, imagining a couple things such an architect of madness would pull to make the inhabitants miserly.

Daydre seems to have spaced out. Once he regains his focus, he turns towards Konk.

"You've... Killed monsters before?" He tries to hide the slight nervousness in his voice.

"Huh. You don't charge high rates, do you?"

...Suave, Ada. Don't be so rude...

Kit frowns. "Thing is, it's been a few days since I could get a shower or anything. Nobody seems to have noticed, but Kit can. So...I guess I should check out the bedrooms." She gets up, preparing to leave the room.

"Ah, the shower... perfectly understandable why you'd want to find such a room now." Erika mentions, her tongue instinctively going out for a second or two, before going back in and emitting a shudder. "...and no, the tongue out wasn't necessarily out of disgust, but certainly not out of being rude. I will admit with all the quick slithering away from the previous town and from the group earlier, I'd likely be due myself, if not overdue." She ponders things for a bit, before emitting a slight hiss. "Well, I suppose we should keep looking, and possibly map out where we have been." She suggests, opening up the journal and readying her pen. It's safe to say Erika is quite fond of the journal she has found for now, considering it's not only keeping names, but also likely will serve as an unconventional map. "I just hope this journal will have plenty of pages if this place is as big as... well, a mountain."
