Huh... for money grinding, I found it faster to hunt for prime meat and sell it to that guy at the stable between-ish the Rito village and Hyrule Plains. Good cash, and the meat I didn't sell combined into dishes great for recovery.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.Gems are used in upgrades. Keep them
Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for youVery little isn't used for one upgrade or another.
If everyone were normal, the world would be a dull place. Like reality television.Bugs, veggies, mushrooms.
Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for youThis game certainly doesn't do any favors for those who are trying to wean themselves out of any hoarder tendencies. Given how at some point, you WILL need a significant amount of a certain item to complete a quest or purchase an upgrade, you may as well make a point to sell food dishes and potions. Luminescent stones (and later on diamonds) are probably the only stones I'd advise selling freely at any time, because they have ore deposits everywhere in Hyrule and sell for a decent price. Diamonds are ok to sell, after a certain point, but in the early game? Heck no, wait until you've built/developed Tarrey Town and upgraded a few armor sets that require diamonds, or else you'll be banging your head trying to track down more of those expensive things.
Theres a Zora in the Zora domain who trades you a diamond for ten luminous stones
Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for youAmber isn't all that bad an idea to sell. I know it's used for upgrading the Hylian set, but other than for completionism purposes it's irrelevant, with the same protection rating as other sets* that also have bonuses for full loadouts.
[edit] The amber earrings (defense of the soldier helm) could be useful, I suppose, but not essential.
[edit 2] Right now the only limitations on my upgrading is Lynel parts (Barbarian, Soldier, and Luminous armor sets), as I still suck at taking those out.

All your safe space are belong to TrumpI think those Amber earrings are like, the ONLY set of earrings actually worth buying, let alone upgrading (well, except maybe the Opal Earrings in a few scant scenarios). Heck, don't even buy the Diamond earrings; you can find a pair in one of the labyrinths for free. Forgot which one, though.
But still, they're usually never worth the effort since they do not grant any armor set bonuses, nor can they be worn under your armor.
If you're looking for lynel parts, the one above Zora domain never levels up. It's always the red lynel.
Also, I noticed in the champion Ballad's final memory, that there are a number of flags bearing unfamiliar standards, but all in the colors of the Hylian royal house. Any idea what those flags represent? The noble houses, perhaps? Any idea what those noble houses are?
Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for youThe diamond circlet is available in the northeast labyrinth maze, beneath the shrine. There are no diamond earrings. Amber, opal, and topaz are earrings. Diamond, ruby, and sapphire are circlets.
I managed to pop the Arena one, but it took a while with sniping from the second level up. About 30 bomb arrows (one was rained out when the weather didn't agree with the indicator on the HUD and I didn't notice it in time) delivered by Ancient Bow, with the full Ancient Armor set for the bonus.

All your safe space are belong to TrumpShooting lynels is too expensive a way to kill them, especially as they get into the blue, white, and silver levels.
Learn to perfect dodge and perfect block, or silver lynels will cost you 200+ arrows near the end.
Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for youThe Colosseum (which I mistakenly identified as Arena) Lynel is a silver. A few of those shots were off, but most were head hits.
But yeah, it's not a cheap method. I'm around 25-30K rupees, though, and I'm an arrow whore.
All your safe space are belong to TrumpEven so, that lynel is a great way to practice melee combat, because while it has boats of hp, it has the shittest weapon of all the lynels. While most Silver Lynels carry weapons that do 60+ damage, this lynel carries the extremely weak basic flameblade, which does no more than 20. Defeat the lynel, and you get his shield, which is basically second only to the hylian shield.
Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for youS bit off topic, but can I say how incredibly fitting this song is to Zelda is in this game?
Bought myself a copy along with a Switch today. I'm not very far in, mostly because I got lost after the first shrine, but it's...okay. Combat and exploration are fun so far but I hate what little I've played of the shrines thus far and climbing towers (The Great Plateau Tower has been my main cause of death thus far.) so I'm hoping once I do the rest of the shrines I won't have to do more of them.
If you're having trouble with the Plateau Tower, you're gonna hate the rest of them.
Heart of StoneOnly advice I have is don't go straight to hyrule castle unless you enjoy dying.
Apocalypse: Dirge Of Swans.x3 I have some bad news for you.
I mean.... you don't have to play any more than the first four shrines, strictly speaking...
Trouble Cube continues to be a general-purpose forum for those who desire such a thing. For a lot of the later shrines, the challenge is in actually finding them, and once you're in you just get given an orb straight away.
Heart of StoneYeah, it's possible, but I still wouldn't recommend it to a first-time player, or someone who isn't looking to do a challenge run of some kind.
Switch FC code: SW-4420-1809-1805You'd definitely want to get Mipha's Grace+ as soon as possible.
Heart of StoneYeah, Great Plateau tower is cake. There's standable platforms everywhere and the climb is really short.
Have fun with Gerudo Valley tower XD
Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for youI really like how, rather than go the easy route like all those Ubisoft games, they made each tower in this game a puzzle in and of itself.
Alright got the Hylian Shield, upgraded my armour to Level 3, brought a whole bunch of food, time for Ganon.
EDIT: The final fight was a real letdown.
