This was so much funnier than I thought it would be. The trailers honestly didn't appeal to me, but my brother wanted to go so I went. I'm certainly glad I did, I laughed quite a few times, and hard. A couple of scenes dragged a bit and the joke was beat to death, but some (especially the songs) really, really worked.

Yeah, to me it just seemed to be another standard "Guy's an asshole loser that thinks he's the best ever" movie of the kind of low-brow garbage that Will Ferrel mostly makes, but after I read about it on Wikipedia I actually started seeing it as a definite parody of the "celebrity life is awesome" cliche.
