Read the book, which was pretty awesome, actually. Tom Ripley, while perhaps not the meekest, mildest man ever to slit a throat, comes pretty close. I can't say I related to Dicky at all, but he was reasonably inoffensive, and I did feel pretty sorry for him, and his family.

So I'm watching this film, and at first it feels like another annoying story about affluent upper-class people enjoying Italy from a fucking sailboat, and getting romantically entangled. Basically a pefume commercial with some Death In Venice undertones.
Then things get interesting, and all I've got to say is Nice Boat. But that was onlythe beginning of the truly interesting stuff...
