Dark Chick Misuse?

Am I the only one who gets bothered by the way the Dark Chick trope is handled in a Five Bad Band in some examples? I have seen the trope being assigned to the sole female even though narratively or characteristically one of her male counteparts ticks more of the boxes than she does. Whether he's more eccentric, quirky, fufills a certain role or just generally being useless. Even if this is the case in a small group she will get the trope because Smurfette Principle.

Unless I'm incorrect and that really is how it should be handled?

I've been saying in the Five Man Band cleanup thread for some time that I'm not convinced The Dark Chick is actually a trope. I feel like it's sort of an invention of this site to make Five Bad Band possible.

Thanks for mentioning the thread. Almost seems pointless keeping this one open after finding it now.
