How the hell do they even play that Joker Game
I've heard this is an anime that actually isn't afraid to show that the general Japanese WWII mindset was dumb as shit. I can get behind that.
but HOW?@filler
- Don't know. They did some cues with their hands and actions though to hide the fact that they used a poker game to smoke out their enemies.
Episode 2 out. The soldier decides to play the game.
Also smirking everywhere.
Third episode is out. Apparently this will be focused on the episodic adventures of the various interchangeable spies as they're assigned to different places during the war?

Sounds good to me. Would like another two-parter at some point though.
I kinda cocked my eyebrow at the Spy being so surprised at Japan allying with Germany. Did he think the Tripartite and Anti-COMINTERN Pacts were just for show?
Probably didn't know for a while since he was planted at Marseilles.
"City of Temptation" is the most chilling episode ever, centering on the Kempeitai unit's attempt to investigate a potential traitor. The KI captain really was the bad guy. And a Straw Nihilist to boot.
I'm pretty sure the Anti-COMINTERN Pact was signed in like '37. The Tripartite Pact I'm not so sure, but I don't think he would've been oblivious to it; these weren't secret agreements ala Molotov-Ribbentrop.
The Tripartite Pact was what happened at the end of the episode. He was inserted in the narrow window between France being conquered and Japan allying with Germany.
What's precedent ever done for us?Ah yeah, you're right. I guess it's different from the Anti-COMINTERN in that was a vague promise to combat International Communism.
i think he was actually inserted during the Phony War, or maybe before the war even began. ( Can't remember if his passport said September or April).

Anyone saw the latest episodes so far (As of now, to episode 6)?

Some interesting stuff I found.
Caught up with the show. I dunno if Jirou threw in his lot with the Wind Agency, but based on the 9th episode, it appears to be the case.
Caught with the 11th episode.
The agency has suffered its first casualty.
Interesting choice to make the final episode revolve around the spy who couldn't. That explains why he's only shown up now, too.
Joker game has an English version on the way.
Interesting that Brad Hawkins is castes as Amari. Rarely hear him aside from Trigun. Looks like he should be in more main cast roles.

The first episode of Joker Game's out. Am glad to see Production IG's in charge of the animation.
Nice to see something from the 1930s, though I've yet to gain access to the original novels to make sense of the background of the JG world.
