Dusty Village

Lawrence heads outside the gas station and shouts out loud, "GOD, WHAT CHALLENGE DO YOU BRING ME TODAY?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

His shout echoes across the area.

"The fuck's that?" Nikodim says, hearing the noise.

Dusty Village: Lawrence

No response is heard, obviously. But where he is from, every building in his view has its lights off except for the police station.

Another door slamming can be heard. This time, it sounds like whatever made the noise exited the building.

Lawrence was slightly dismayed that he could not provoke an immediate reaction from anybody. He hoped that they were people that were close at hand so he could ask a few questions on his current whereabouts. Even so, he assumed that the inhabitants were quite shy and didn't want to be bothered by him.

"These fools lack the courtesy to greet a passing stranger," If one removed his helmet, one could have seen him frown, "Men ought to be better strangers if this world is to be a better place. Maybe this is the cause of all sorrow in the world, because we all failed to be better strangers."

He sensed a darkness that loomed in this little town. This was not his first time to enter a haunted ghost town, but this particular place gave him chills. Usually, ghosts did not want to be bothered by the ravings of a madman that was unusually resistant to horror, but he didn't know what to think of this town. He only expected it to put his very sanity (insanity?) to the test.

"OK, we have seen everything here. Let's look into the Holding." Nikodim says and leaves.

The Lobby: Nikodim

He will find that both the door to HOLDING and the door outside were... gone. They were now simply holes leading to other rooms.

"The shit?" Nikodim mutters.

For a moment, Sir Lawrence meditated as to why the town was so silent and why it seemed so ghostly. It did not take long for him to reach to his inevitable conclusion, "The only reason I can see why this place is so haunted is because it lacks the presence of God!"

Quickly he drew his sword, "This place is filled with evil, and it is my mission to defeat whatever wickedness dwells within this den of iniquity!"

Armed with his faith, Lawrence headed into the darkest corner he could find and screamed at the top of his lungs, "COME FORTH DEMON, SHOW ME WHAT YOU'VE GOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

"I think I heard a retard." Nikodim said.

A small doubt surfaced within the mind of Sir Lawrence, specifically of the reaction of common men regarding the temerity of his overwhelming speech, "Tsk, sometimes men cannot appreciate the value of courage."

"Who's there?" Nikodim asks, looking out from the window, aiming his shotgun.

Wait, is Lawrence outside or in the station right now?

The Lobby: Nikodim

Just outside, a very subtle tapping can be heard getting quieter and quieter as whatever is making the sound leaves.

Finally, a monster appears right behind him. Of course, Lawrence can't see it right now, but it's tapping is audible.

While his metal armor may provide some form of physical security against attackers, it also hampered one's ability to observe his environment. His steel helmet prevented him from hearing the subtle taps that were gradually getting louder and louder. He would only hear it if it were significantly close to him.

As Sir Lawrence sensed the creature confront him from behind, he exclaimed, "You don't stand a chance, you never stood a chance, because the world is being saved every day by men who do good. Even if I fall there will be more good men to take my place. That's because we stand for what is right. You, on the other hand, are wrong!"

He turned to face the creature with his sword drawn.

The Claw's Arrival: Lawrence

What he sees is an eight-feet-tall humanoid with a red shell around it. Almost everything is covered by the shell except for its empty eye sockets and mouth. The mouth has no teeth or tongue. Instead of hands, it has giant crab claws, which look sharp enough to pop someone's head off as opposed to giving a mean pinch. It has eight legs but no feet, just sharp tendrils to stick into the ground with.

It says nothing to Lawrence, instead it just stares at him.

Meet this game's Pyramid Head.

"WHAT THE FUCK?!" Nikodim screams. He is shaking and aiming his shotgun.

The Claw's Arrival: Nikodim

The creature looks at Nikodim. Even though the police station was still in view, it was quite a distance from Nikodim, meaning the shotgun wouldn't do much.

"S-shit..." Nikodim mutters, crawling back into the room. "It saw me!"

"Whoever is there," Sir Lawrence noticed a humanoid figure in the corner of his eye despite his helmet covering most of his vision, "I will fight for you. Go now."

This creature was tall, and it was his first monster fight ever. For years he had fought against men, now it is time to prove himself in the light of all beings both high and low by challenging such a dangerous enemy.

"No matter how evil you are, I will always give you a proper burial. No soul is safe into the passage to the afterlife without a funeral. This I will offer if we fight."

The Claw's Arrival: Nikodim, Lawrence

It looks back at Lawrence and hits him to the ground with one of its claws. Then it starts going for Nikodim.

By that time, Nikodim has once again looked out the window, and it was with a "HOLY FUCK IT'S GOING TOWARDS THE POLICE STATION" that Nikodim started emptying his shotgun on the creature.

"That was a foolish move, creature," Lawrence takes a few moments to recover from his fall and dashes towards the creature at full speed, it did not help that he was wearing a full suit of armor, he was noticeably slower than the eight-meter crab monster.

The blow from the creature was hard, but the armor took most of the impact away. Still, if he suffered a few hits from the giant crab he could be in for some real damage.

The Claw's Arrival: Nikodim, Lawrence

The shots seem to do absolutely nothing to the creature as it gets closer and closer to the station. It's at the entrance now. As for Lawrence, the creature is quite a bit faster and easily keeps away from him while it tries to get to Nikodim.

"Oh god!" Nikodim yells as he sobs. He hears the beast step closer and closer.

"Looks like..." Nikodim whispers, looking at the window. "I can only do this."

Suddenly, Nikodim jumps out of the window.
