In the Shadow of Man

"Well, most humans don't wear armor or flowing garments. Rather, they wore shorter garments, known as "shirt" and "pants", covering their skin." said Arkady.

"Shirt? Pants? You're gonna have to use words I understand."

"Uh... uhh..."

Arkady did not know what to say.

"A shirt is a garment with two holes somewhere around the hands - it covers the human's upper body. Pants are two long, pipe-like garments with holes. Those garments are tied together, and cover the humans' hindpaws. They call them 'legs'".

"Wait, you said humans are two-legged?"

"Yes!" said Arkady, "That's one of their major traits! They always walk on two legs!"

"Dude, check this shit out!" Leo gets up and stands on two legs. "I'm a hoo-mon! Apparently bears can do this too!"

"No." said Arkady. "Humans are much taller, and don't have fur at all. I can do that too."

With great strength, Arkady stands up. He stays in this pose for exactly seven seconds, after which he falls.

"Blah blah slavery! Blah blah blah!" Leo's too busy pretending to be a human to listen.

"I can pull off that too!" said Arkady and pretended to be a human with a very silly voice. "Blah blah fixing! Blah blah AHHHHH A MOUSE! GET IT AWAY FROM ME!"

"...sorry, Milo." whispered Arkady.

"... Wait, they're afraid of mice?"

"Well, the females are." said Arkady. "The females straight-up screech when they see a mouse. The elder female once forced me to catch a mouse."

"R-Really?", asks Milo. He seems frightened and withdraws a bit.

Leo grins a bit. "That's hilarious! What did you do with it when you caught it?"

"Ah, but don't worry. I didn't eat that mouse," Arkady said, "I told it to leave after we pretended to chase. Like I said, I'm not too carnivorous, and I prefer insects and fruit."

"Hey, Milo!" asked Arkady, "Just a tiny question. What do you think of rats?"

"Oh, good." He appears to calm down. "What about that did you find hilarious? That wasn't funny at all to me!

"Oh, I guess they're not exactly the most pleasant type of people, but at least they're not as bad as predators. They have their own colonies, separate from us, you know. They tend to live underground."

"I 'unno. I'm a fan of amusing injuries!"

"So, what do you think of rats?" asked Arkady to Milo, and walked up to the falcon.

"Is he going to wake up?"

"Maybe. That was a pretty hard fall. I say we just leave him, he might pose a threat if he somehow followed us to the village."

Edited answer in previous post, arcada.

"I dunno, let me check." Leo approaches the falcon. He gets a bit too close. To the point where it will really suck if he wakes up and attacks.

"Indeed." said Arkady. "To be fair, one of the few friends I had during my life as a pet was a predatorous cat. She was nice."

After that, Arkady walks up to the falcon, observing it closely.

"Well, as intriguing as all this has just gotten, I know mother would be really upset if I didn't get these strawberries sold by nightfall. Bye, it's been nice meeting you!" He trots away at a steady pace, off to town.

"Maybe he's dead?"

Arkady looks at the falcon.

"No." Arkady says, "I think I heard a heartbeat. Perhaps that falcon is resting."

"Shit. So it can wake up and kill us whenever it wants? Maybe we should lock it up or something."
