Manga/Fire Brigade of Flames

Noticed there was no thread and decide to fix that.

Written and drawn by the creator of Soul Eater this manga revolves around Shinra Kusakaba, a boy with a troubled past who ends up joining the recently formed 8th Squad of the Special Fire Brigade.

The job of the Special Fire Brigade is to deal with Fire People, a phenomenon that occurs when humans spontaneously combust into flame and in the process game fire based powers/lose their humanity. As we find out, however, the squads of the Special Fire Brigade each has their own agenda.

Personally I'm a few chapters behind but I'm interested in seeing what others who read it have to say.

It's fine to me even with the sometimes out of place fanservice.

I'd prefer Arthur as the MC.

Hmm. I just read through this a few days ago. It's... okay so far. Nothing really annoying has happened, but nothing's really wowed me either.

It's standard shonen through and through. Somewhat of a disappointment coming from Soul Eater.

Also, aww man, mr. talking flame guy didn't have time to realize how stupidly he died

So is this released in same magazine as fairy tail or something? .-.

How good is this manga anyway?

It's alright. From the mangaka who did Soul Eater, so expect roughly the same? It's basically a world where magical fire has become a real problem, what with people spontaneously bursting into flame and/or becoming fire demons. So people with special powers all relating somehow to fire have to become firefighters in all senses of the word. I'm not caught up, but from what I've read so far it's pretty standard shounen fare, with the newbie MC with aspirations to become the best and solve some underlying mystery, learning to work together with new comrades in his fire brigade. The action is pretty good, to be expected from the person who did Soul Eater. Characters are alright, some have started to get some development where I left off. All in all, I'd say it's a good little time-waster if you're looking for another series to read.

So just have to ask, using heat to stop the time has probably to be most ridiculous use of fire powers in any series?

Hmm, still kind of weirded out how obscure this one is .-. Still, seems to be doing well enough since its still running as far as I know?
