Agreeing that the current is completely non-illustrative...not sure about a replacement. I think we'd need a lampshade.
I think the idea is that it's a castle in the modern day—it's a photograph of a castle looks false and has modern iron railings; maybe a Medieval Times–type place. But that's not to defend it; it still doesn't actually illustrate the trope.
Anyone else for pulling the current?
You've got roaming bands of armed, aggressive, tyrannical plumbers coming to your door, saying "Use our service, or else!"God that's bad. Pull.
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?It looks like a model castle of indeterminate size. Pull.
Check out my fanfiction!I think it needs to go bye-bye.
(Annoyed grunt)It's sacked.
Clock is set.
I also think this is something that can't be properly pictured.
(Annoyed grunt)I'd think we'd have to go with a Comic panel or something lampshading this for there to really be a picture. The only other way would be to find a pic of something that most everybody knows which is under the trope.

Clock has expired, and since no one brought up a suggestion, closing this down.

The trope refers to (usually fantasy) settings where the technology level remains dormant for possibly thousands of years. All the image shows is a castle without any indication of stagnancy.
I have doubts this is a trope that can really be pictured. The only concept in my mind is something like a mediaeval city shown in one period and then the same city 1000 years later with the times indicated.
