Is it okay to post my project in the forums?

I don't want to spam, so... I'm asking permission first!

Would it be okay to post my story in the appropriate Media thread? Or is it for third-party-project posting only? I hope you enjoy my story!

The story's been going on for 8 months now, if it makes a difference.

I think you will have to be more specific about what your project is, but in general we're not here for hosting fiction, just troping it and talking about it.

If you're looking for feedback on your work, you should consider posting in the Writer's Block and World Building forums. Just don't dump a Wall of Text all at once, though.

No, to be honest I'm not looking for feedback so much, so I don't think it would be appropriate to post there.

If it's just not appropriate to post it in these forums, I don't want to spam you guys (cuz you're awesome! (and spam sucks)). If it's appropriate and would like, though, I can link-drop in this thread.

While the Writer's Block folks would be more than happy to help you with aspects of your writing, please do not post significant portions of your actual work here on our forums (or the wiki, for that matter). This is because of "prior publication" issues — namely, that you may have trouble if you ever intend to publish your work in the future if large portions of it are already on a public website.

Also, the wiki is for cataloging tropes in works, not for hosting works themselves.

Yep, absolutely! I don't plan on posting chunks of the story. I was wondering about sharing a tidbit and a link to see if anybody's interested in following it (since I'm a big fan of TV Tropes and some of the story's readers are, I thought some other Tropers might like it too).

That's fine; just remember that we aren't here for you to pimp out your work. Only post if you have a legitimate interest in getting criticism and/or advice.
