Delete/comment out for being a Zero-Context Example or misuse. We recently had it in TRS and the current definition (including long term/forever) was set by consensus.

It's a fate. Something with no forseeable end, pretty much like death tends to be. Not a temporary lack of self control.

Then what's the trope for temporary lack of self-control but with the consciousness? People keep misusing And I Must Scream for this trope.

Would it be okay for me to ask this in the TRS? I can't say exactly how widespread the misuse is, but I've caught them a number of times and fixed those I found.

And I Must Scream is when someone is conscious, but can't move, talk or do anything for eternity/very long time, right?
Yet I've also see examples of it in pages that instead talks about how someone is conscious and yet their bodies are manipulated to do something they don't want. Or when their soul is trapped inside something mobile and/or aiming for destruction and they can't do anything about it. Yup, it is often also used for "they're conscious, trapped, and unable to do something" without the "imprisoned for long/eternity" part.
What to do?
