Cole listened to the conversation between Nails and Wells on the walkie-talkie, watching the militia man as he did, and he grimaced when it was clear that the militia didn't have anything planned that they could do to help in the fight. Cole didn't feel as though he did either, but they had to help somehow. Seeing how badly Nails was handling even directing other people away from sight, Cole slowly took a breath, slowly removing his amulet again, then reached out, putting a hand to Nails's shoulder while putting the amulet in his grip again, before calling out to the citizens around them, voice raised but completely calm.

"You, there," he said, pointing to the nearest person that wasn't already moving, getting them to look at him before he continued. "Start getting people to follow you towards the nearest building that looks to have any reinforcement. Quietly. You!" He pointed to another, again getting her attention on him before continuing. "Take the hands of any children here and escort them along with you to a building and hide as far inside and away from walls as you can."

Cole then turned to Nails, reaching out to grip his wrist, to get his attention as well, speaking in a soft voice. "People will tune out a cry to a crowd, thinking you cannot mean them, they will not ignore being addressed as an individual. Pick out the ones that seem willing and strong and give them a direct order to get to shelter with whoever they can get to come with them."

He gave the man's arm a slight squeeze, offering a thin hint of a reassuring smile, then let go, moving closer, reaching out to touch the arm of a larger man nearby. "Sir, there are people who need your help to evacuate from this place. Do you have any way to get more people to safety?"

The spirit continued to seem to scan about and choose people, addressing them to get themselves and at least a couple others to safety, offering smiles to some and stern orders to others, whatever he felt would be what it took to move them on their way, not even looking in the direction of the battle, giving off every impression that he considered all of this a mere routine that had to be followed rather than any sort of emergency.

Underwater Structure - First Aid, Spirit Style

Jack shot a look at Morty, mildly annoyed at the teen's reaction to the heavily bleeding woman in need of help. He had a feeling that there was a lot that he didn't understand going on, but now wasn't the time to get into it. The mention of a demon jogged his memory, and he reminded himself to ask if it was connected to that 'Lord of Change' Zelda mentioned yesterday. It definitely sounded like it. Was this woman one of the people he possessed?

"Morty, calm down. We're really close to the surface already, I can feel the wind coming from up there. We'll be fine." He nodded towards the stairs that led up. "Let's go."

"Hey, come on," Jack ground out as he struggled against the woman, who was doing her best to push him away, "I'm just trying to help."

She went on to say some pretty dark things, stuff Jack felt himself about to argue against just on instinct. But, before he could, she suddenly coughed up blood, which was never a good sign, and slumped forward, unconscious. "Whoa, whoa!" Jack cried out and staggered forward at the sudden increase of weight and shift of balance. He barely managed to catch her, having to drop his staff to do so. He let her down gently, his face stricken.

"No, no, no. She's bleeding too quickly," The spirit rambled to himself out loud, "We won't make it back. But- No. I'm not going to let that happen." He wasn't going to fail to save somebody again. Not this time. Not after the other day.

But what could he do? He needed to stop the bleeding, but there was so many wounds, and he had no clue how to bandage things. Come on Jack, think! Staring down at the woman, the spirit noticed a small stream of blood had dripped across the floor to where his hand rested beside the woman. It was hot against his skin, and he idly pushed his magic into it and froze it solid. There was a moment, and his eyes suddenly widened. He grinned and shouted, "That's it!"

The immortal teen gently placed his hand over one of the woman's wounds, one of the larger ones that still bled heavily, and tried to ignore the wet heat of coated it. Breathing in, he pushed his power through his hand and into the wound. He could feel the blood under his hand freezing, and he took special care not to let the freezing go too deep. Still, he would have to move quickly. She was at massive risk of frost bite, but it would have to do. Quickly, he repeated the process until the woman was no longer bleeding.

He glanced over at Morty, the teen looking panicked and lost. Moving over to the woman's side with the broken arm, he called out to him. "Morty, I need you to help me. Grab her and help me carry her up. We need to get her help now, and get you somewhere safe."

A hysterical part of his mind, currently buried under his drive to help, noted that this was far outside of what the Man in the Moon had planned for him. North, Sandy, any of the others would have been better for this! If Morty chose to help, once they had Kelsey up and were supporting her under her shoulders, Jack would begin slowly making his way up the stairs and hopefully towards the surface.

Near Library - Fire at will

Curly activated her booster again at the foot of the ladder and rocketed up and out the shaft to land on the boardwalk section of the platform she was on just as the monster leapt out of the ocean. She expected it was big, but not that big, still she couldn't allow herself the luxury to marveling at the thing that looked like it could destroy the whole city if it really wanted to. If there was one thing she learned from fighting the Core it was that the face and eyes were a good place to start shooting, so with what little time she had before it dived again she fired her fully charged Spur for one of the red eyes.

Lune and Caro headed off to fight the mechanical monster. Unfortunately, Lucas couldn't fly to the fight and help out. He shook his head to answer Yoshika's inquiry on the flying capabilities of those around her.

And then, just as Lucas was about to give up on joining the fight, it emerged from the water. The behemoth was larger than pretty much anything Lucas had ever seen. He wasn't an expert or anything, but Lucas felt that something like that shouldn't be able to even withstand its own weight. There was no way Lucas would even be able to scratch it.

There was one thing Lucas started focusing on, though. The markings all over the machine seemed unnecesary, like a decoration, which didn't fit with the rest of it being obviously designed for combat. He payed close attention to the runes as the beast started falling, trying to see if they served any purpose. It wasn't like he could do anything else currently.

Viola I Library I The Beginning

I listened on to her, taking careful notes on what she said and on what she thought about me. "I'm flattered that you thought of me as a friend too, Seiga. Really, I do," I began, sounding almost sincere. And that surprises me. "... I'll be lying if I say I _completely_ trust you, but I'm willing to give you the benefit of the doubt." I lightly shook my head. ".. I know I might regret this decision, but yes, I trust you, Seiga. In fact, after hearing your story, you might be the only person I could rely on in this City should the worst happen to me. What I'm about to tell you could potentially affect the nature of my stay here, and not in a good way." I spoke, my tone calculated, cautious... and slightly afraid. "I truly do wanted to believe what you're saying is true,"

I sighed, thinking on how to approach this. It's not often that I've been told to talk about my whole life story. Settling on a suitable beginning point however, I reluctantly began. "Remember the time that I introduced myself to you? Some of it is true. I really am a normal girl, with a happy family and a relatively normal life ahead of her. My father makes a living by hunting out games, while house chores are delegated to me while he's out. Sometimes, I ventured out into the forest to collect anything that caught my eye back home, most of them being flowers." I haven't exactly settled on Viola's duties yet, only meeting with my 'father' before being grabbed as an inspirational tool for an omnipotent Author. But that'll eventually be my future routine, so I suppose it's worth mentioning. "All in all, I'm just another unassuming girl you could probably find anywhere else within your countless lifetimes. And you know what? I'm happy for it."

"... But before all of that, I used to be a Witch. A powerful one at that, or so I liked to believe."

Battle Outside the Library — Improvised Lobotomy

Ben was down for the count after getting slammed by the rock lobster. Given the sheer size of the thing and its firepower, the plan changed from "Overwhelm it" to "Hit-and-run". The only problem was deciding where to hit it. The massive glowing eyes seemed like the most obvious weak point and someone in the team said he could stop a target from moving for a while. Looks like they had a plan B.

"John, keep him in place. Everyone else focus on the eyes. Don't let that thing hide underwater"

Even when he was fighting something that probably couldn't understand what he was saying, Rex still fell the need to make fun of it.

"I don't care how big you are, they still haven't built a machine I can't smash"

He proceeded to fly parallel to the Leviathan's left sideand shot his two turbine-bolas aiming right for the monster's eye.

Seiga, The Library, Question Mark
Ah, the way to this girl's heart was opened, like so many before it. At least Seiga did feel a little sincere here, unlike those other times, so that Viola would be willing was great. Seiga nodded and smiled, as she got ready to experience the inevitably horrible life of this girl.

...Well, that's what she expected, but up until the very end, it was anything but horrible. "Pastoral" was more the correct descriptor. The hermit nodded along as she listened intently, letting a little bit of confusion settle into her expression as she continued.

When Viola finally did get to the story, Seiga looked even more confused. The kind of head-tilting, hand-on-your-chin confusion that she didn't openly use very often. She interjected before she could clarify, "How does one go from being a Witch to an unassuming girl? Normally, it's the other way around. Did you reform, perhaps?"

Ocean boardwalk with Cole

"Uh... Well that's easy enough for you to say; you can read their minds. But still, it seems like you've done this before, and plus the mind reading, I think I'll just follow your lead" Nails said, and then got to following Cole around, trying to help his efforts. This helping turned out to be mainly just trying to reassure the more nervous people by mentioning he was with the militia.

This continued until they were passing by the restaurant again, when Nails' attention got caught by some quick screaming happening inside because...

Exiting the underwater structure, with Jack and Morty

Heading up one of the staircases, Jack entered a restaurant, where a small crowd of people was forming and huddling around and in some cases under furniture, warily watching the windows that faced out towards the leviathan in the distance. A few people caught sight of Jack coming up with Kelsey, and of course promptly some lady screamed when she saw Kelsey's condition.

"By the gods!" A man dressed as a medieval peasant yelled, moving over to help support Kelsey. (Jack might recognize Braston as one of the people who had been holed up in the apartment defended by Sir Redring.) "We need a healer!" Braston called out, and somebody else ran into the back of the restaurant and came back with a very basic first aid kit.

"Get her on a table" somebody else instructed; the general atmosphere of the restaurant had shifted, as those trying to help were scrambling around while everyone else went hushed and shocked at the sight.

Outside the Library - Engage the Enemy

"you got it," John obliged, and thus he went off to engage the enemy, turning into wind, and approaching the Leviathan. It was ginormous, and in the shape of a large lobster. So in short, the Leviathan was some large lobster death robot.

Sure. John Egbert could live with that. He'd seen a lot of weird things, such as all his friends dying, and a reality-altering video game.

"i'll just hit right here, if that's okay with you!" John shouted over to Rex.

As he slowly reformed to physical form, he took the time-stopping Fear No Anvil, and swung a mighty strike at the Leviathan's side.

Cole was directing one woman to head for the library instead of staying here, but he stopped, eyes going wide when he seemed to pick something up, as Nails would hear the screaming. He turned his head, then hurried towards the restaurant, rushing inside and coming to a stop at what he saw in front of him.

"She's the..."

Whatever he was going to say trailed off when he looked at Jack, tilting his head to one side, before he turned to Nails, looking from side to side, as though casting about for something. "I know she will die and come back somewhere else, but that might be bad for her. ...if Jack could carry her while flying, and you-," he pointed to Nails, "-could drive the ship, I could guide it back to the library with Jack following..."

He faltered slightly at that, glancing in the direction of the Leviathan. "That...that might make them targets though...you said that thing can fly?" He pondered it a moment, looking concerned. "M-maybe it is too much of a risk...during a siege innocent people should be sheltered as much as possible. How long do you think she can survive like this?"

Library, Getting Ready to Battle

"Honestly makes me wish I was a giant crow again," Plague Knight commented as he saw the Leviathan surface and actually flying. Even while still on the docks of the library, he could clearly see the creature in the far distance. At this point, the knight decided to watch the fight from afar, paying attention to the creature's movements, looking for weak points, and preparing some bombs. He also had the Big Bang arcana ready to equip if needed.

Ara Haan (Library) - Shopping... Sort Of

Ara spent the following seconds pondering the two options Miss Tairee had given her. But in the end, one was vastly superior to the other, both when it came to personal preferences, and to how well it could work with Ara's combat style.

"Well, all I was thinking of was just something that could help me stay longer underwater without... well, drowning," she admitted, scratching the back of her head, "but if I could choose, I'd pick something light, that wouldn't slow me down so much."

Viola I Library I How She Came To Be

I smiled and chuckled at Seiga's sudden confusion, taking odd satisfaction from it. "Reform... That's one way to put it." I looked on forlornly, piecing out what I remember of days past. "You see, Seiga, while you chose to be an immortal hermit out of your own free will, I had no such luxury. Yours, you did out of desire. Mine, I did out of desperation. And becoming a 'Witch' is more of a curse in my case. The only choice I was presented with at the time was either 'survive, become a Witch and make an irrevocable pact with a demon' or die in an unknown back alley, forgotten by the rest of the world as some unknown urchin girl. Guess which one I chose?" I paused. "Of course, I didn't really know what said choice entailed, being but a young child back then, but what's done is done."

How odd. I never really did had much experience in sharing any of my life story with anyone before, at least, not to this extent. The only one who even know about me in great depth was the cat, the crow and Viola. It felt... refreshing. "To elaborate, we'll have to delve further back into my past, before I got turned into a Witch. My previous life was...," I grimaced. "... Pathetic. One that I care not to remember, not if I can help it. Suffice it to say, I was a very different girl then. Much different than the girl you see before you now. Not once do I ever wish to be that same girl again... but from time to time, I do wonder if that was ever a good thing,"

Seiga, The Library, Demon Days
So, Seiga wasn't too far off from her estimation: She was, indeed, someone who consorted with demons. Going from her experience, they never ended up good people, for many reasons, but who was she to judge? Especially for the purpose of living, she could understand such a boundary being crossed...but at the same time, as she said...

"...I am not sure if that would be truly despicable, though. I think the population here would understand," she said, dropping her smile and acting entirely seriously. "Just because it's with something infernal, to do that just to save yourself from a painful death? That seems entirely justified...and I don't even mean in my own point of view. Why would you hide that? Is it just painful to talk about?"

It didn't take much more thinking here, because there was a very important reason these kinds of people never end up good. She stared her in the eye with a look of realization as she said, "...Unless that demon made you do something truly awful."

Leviathan battle

The massive machine was just moving its head back down when Curly's beam hit it; unfortunately the movement of said head made the beam miss the eye, instead scraping along the top of its head and leaving a darkened mark. It didn't really seem hurt, but oh boy did it get the thing's attention; with another roar that sounded like a mix between aquatic life and heavy machinery, it swung one of its large claws down at the structure that Curly and Sophie were on.

Then John hit it in the side with his hammer, and the entire machine suddenly halted for a moment. This was about the same time that Rex managed to get into position alongside it thanks to Caro's speed boost, and fired his bolas at its left eye, which exploded right on the mark. Then a second after having been halted, the machine's movements resumed; the large claw finished its movement of coming down on the structure and completely demolishing it, and Sophie and Curly as well if they were still on it after that second of halting had passed. It let out another roar as its left eye was now visibly flickering on and off like a busted light, and abruptly swung the left small claw arm on the side of its head upwards in a sweeping motion, right into Rex.

Caro's defense boost could only go so far, and even if Rex somehow survived the hit, he'd find that his legs were basically pulverized as he was sent high up above the fight in an arc.

The leviathan then twisted and turned to the right, trying to spot where John was and swinging its claws at where it suspected he was.

Boardwalk restaurant

Nails followed Cole into the place and gasped when he saw Kelsey. "How long? I'm surprised she's still alive right now! I don't think we have the time to get her to the library without her going poof" Nails said, giving his own colloquialism to the cycle of death and vanishing of the city. "Frankly with the type of medicine from my universe, I don't think she could survive this. I think she needs some kind of fantasy healing potion or spell, or maybe something sci-fi with nanomachines; basically what I'd call a freakin' miracle back home" the militia man continued rather unhelpfully, though in an apologetic tone.

Kelsey even less helpfully provided no comment as she was unconscious, though still did not disappear and was even still breathing. Although, it was rather weak, and audibly wet in a way that it clearly shouldn't be. A couple people trying to help quickly got the first aid kit opened up and started applying medicine and bandages where they could, after scraping off Jack's ice. "She's lost so much blood and this ice... We need to warm her up fast" one of the two people applying bandages said.

Nails blinked and looked past everyone around Kelsey as he thought of something. "Hey! The orc in the back and the guy in the Jon Arbuckle getup!" Nails yelled, pointing to a man wearing a blue polo shirt and blue pants standing next to an orc in a brown tunic; they were both standing next to the employee door to the kitchens. "This is a food place, so go back there and find their heat lamps for keeping food warm!" the militia member ordered the two; after they took a moment to glance at each other in confusion, he added, "now! Chop chop!" And quickly they ran into the kitchen.

Library

Keeping her attention on Ara, Miss Tairee only gave Zelda a quick wave of her hand without looking, and meanwhile raised one eyebrow ever so slightly. "Well that doesn't really answer my question, but it seems like a diving suit should suffice. One moment" Miss Tairee said, and got to typing on her holographic screen. After a few moments, there was a blur on a nearby table and a folded up, skintight wetsuit with an oxygen tank appeared. "I hope this will suffice? You'll have to change your outfit of course" the librarian added, looking back to Ara.

Meanwhile outside, Thomas kept muttering to himself in clear worry about how he could help, and then glanced to his side at the others there as something occurred to him. He then moved over to Plague Knight. "Would those, maybe do damage to it?" Thomas asked. "I could make those hit it from here" he suggested, showing his wand.

Fried Airlines

And so the assault on the gigantic monstrosity began. Caro created a massive light sphere and tried to build up power. If Ryusei Date were around these parts, Lune assumed that he would've called the attack a “Rocky Sunshine” or something silly like that. Lune's not into robot anime like he is.

Curly fired up a few charged up shots at the creature while John smacked the creature with a cool-looking hammer. From the way things are going, these newcomers were doing a superb job at fighting at this thing.

Unfortunately, Rex was cleaved in two by the creature even though he had Caro's magic backing him up. And things might be looking rough for Sophie and Curly if they don't get out of the freaking way! Lune took aim and tried to fire her blaster a few times at the creature. Hopefully, the blasts would affect the spots not hit by Curly.

Boardwalk Restaurant

Jack grunted as he shifted slightly to take Kelsey's weight a little better, and moved up another step. Finding himself at the top, he sighed in relief and looked up, and froze. He glanced around at the group of people scattered around the building, staring out the windows at something.

"Well, that was fast..." The spirit muttered to himself. He hadn't been expecting people to be right there. But he'd take any help he could get right now. Then a woman screamed at them, and the room explode in movement. A man come forward to help Jack, and the spirit recognized him from the apartment during that day. He really wanted to ask how everything had gone afterwards, but there were more important things.

The arrival of a certain spirit lifted Jack's spirits slightly, and he found himself grinning tiredly. He looked better than he had earlier, though seeing him with the one of the militia members from before confused him a bit. Still, Cole didn't seem to have problem with it, so Jack wasn't going to say anything yet. "Cole, good to see you, buddy."

The man from the militia seemed to be in charge to some degree, so once the spirit was sure the woman was safely on the table he approached him. "Do you think the library will have help for her, though? If you can get her stable enough, I could fly her there easily. That thing out there won't even know I'm there, and I'm far faster than anything else you could find." He looked over at where people were crowding around the woman, his face tight. He'd never carried anyone injured while he was flying before, but he'd make it work. "And I'm not going to let her die if I can help it."

Viola I Library I Revelation

"What do you think, Seiga?" I asked the hermit, curious of what she thinks of my action. "The demon didn't simply employ me as a Witch just to see me suffer. Oh, no. Instead, he did something else, something far more effective... He offered me a second chance in life, while I was at my lowest point, all in exchange for human souls."

"You'd be surprised at how effective his methods are. See someone brought down upon the brink of despair, then entice them with a glimpse of their heart's desire, and a bit of luxury. Simple, yet effective. That's how he managed to initially trick me into serving him. Ironically, it's also the same method I've been using to trick other potential sacrifices into my home, for him to feast upon. By the time I realized that I was playing along his game the entire time, I was already too far ahead to stop. I could've stopped then, but I was already too far in. I've already had the blood of countless people on my hands, so whatever chances that I have in the afterlife is forever closed to me. If they even exist." I remembered back to that day again, the day after a man decapitated my head. The day that the cat told me that there was another way out of a Witch's immortality, another way out of a lifetime of my sickness: death by despair.

"Would it surprise you that I briefly considered committing suicide right then and there?"

"... But I didn't. Why? Because I already set foot into this path. Killing myself then would not change anything. It certainly wouldn't erase everything that I did. So I might as well see through all of this to the end and be done with the pact as soon as possible. And here I am now, with the demon having actually fulfilled his end of the bargain, with his appetite satiated and me, living the life that I've always wanted too, a body that no longer hurts and forever free of his influence... all over the span of several decades of sacrificing countless souls to the demon, in addition to the soul of this body's former owner. Or perhaps centuries. Honestly, I lost count."

She'll understand, won't she? Of course she will. Because she's in the same predicament as me. Because I trusted her.

Because she's my friend.

"... Do you resent me for that, Seiga?" I asked, quietly and with a downcast gaze. "Am I a monster to you, too?"

Seiga, The Library, Undying Friends
Putting her hands on the girl's shoulders, and looking into her eyes, Seiga said, "Viola...You did what you needed to." She held her words for a moment, because as much as she wanted to say You're only as much of a monster as I am, Viola didn't need that kind of smart remark. She may lived as long as she herself had, but it was obvious that she had an entirely different viewpoint on all of this. In spite of how beyond-her-years she acted, Viola seemed to be young still in some ways.

"...Viola, I don't resent you at all. I think what you did was...ingenious, in it's own way. I can see why you would hide all of this from the short-sighted, small-minded people that live here. They would never accept you." She paused, thinking about how best to put these words. "...We're very, very similar, Viola, and I think we both realized that before our talk here. For a kindred soul such as yourself..."

"...I'll protect you. Both you, and your secret, because I can't say I ever met, in my 1600 years, someone I sympathize with so much. Someone willing to better themselves at any cost, and someone with enough of a conscience left to realize what they've done." She smiled wide, and pulled her in for an honest-to-goodness hug. Whether Viola liked it or not, she held it there for a few moments, silently letting her take it all in. When she let go, she said, "I just have one question...I was known as Qing'e Wu, a long time ago. This body may not be yours, but is your name your own?"

Leviathan Battle - The Timey Thing

The Leviathan had spotted him. Oh snap. Strafing from side-to-side, John formed a small tornado advancing towards the great rock beast itself, and striked again with the clock hammer. Over the commotion of a great battle against the Lobster Monster, John shouted for help.

"i'm gonna need some backup!"

Then, he took out his Pop-a-Matic Vrillyhoo Hammer, and swung with the mighty force of a Denizen. The closest he could try to a Denizen, anyway.

Viola I Library I Huh?

I was taken aback by her words and gestures. In hindsight, I shouldn't have. What do I expect to get out of this? There's only two real outcome here: Either she accepts me, or rejects me. And yet, she still caught me off-guard.

Why?

Then, she embraced me in her arms. A warm, real embrace, from someone who knew me, the real me. One that I haven't felt for a very, very long time. Is this how it feels like? To be loved?

Or am I just being weak and dependent again now that the cat's not here? Like the time with Mothe-

I slightly raise my arms in an attempt to reach out before letting them fall to my sides, unsure of what to do. So I just stood there, dazed. I didn't mind, though. It was comfortable. Reminds me of the home that I'll be returning to soon. Home, with my 'father'.

Home.

Once she released her hug, I stopped myself from moving forward. Instead, I simply smiled at her, though this one seemed more genuine.

"No, Viola is unfortunately not my own name. That name belongs to the original host of this body before... well." I paused, before continuing. "I prefer that you keep calling me Viola in the future, if only to preserve my facade. It makes it that much difficult for those suspicious of me to find out more about myself. You can't exactly find out who I am without knowing anything about me, and that name serves to mislead potential snoopers."

Then, there's the librarian that I have to be worried about. But I leave that thought aside for the time being.

"... But thank you. Knowing that I have an ally that I could on, really means a lot to me..." I paused again, in deep thought before finally reaching a conclusive decision. "Now originally, I didn't plan to reveal my true name to you... but after everything here, I felt like I owe you that one, at least. Consider it an honor."

"Now, allow me to re-introduce myself again." I stood a bit further at the back, before looking back towards Seiga. "My true name is Ellen, former Witch and ex-servant of a cat demon." I slightly lifted up my skirt and curtsied to her, as a show of mutual respect. "It's a pleasure to formally meet your acquaintance, Kaku Seiga."

Library, Here Comes da BOOM

Plague Knight was interrupted from his bomb making when Thomas walked up to the knight was asked if he could help, pulling out a wand. The alchemist immediately recognized the stick as possibly a magic wand.......

Even from within the mask, the young wizard could see a glint in the knight's eye, the kind of devilish twinkle of madness that comes when someone enables a bomb throwing psychopath.

"hmhmhmhmhmhmhmhee hee hee HEE HEE HEE HEE HEEEEEEEE HEH HEH HEH!!" Plague Knight chuckled evilly. "I hope your aim is true, boy," he said, pulling out a pre-made standard powder bomb with an impact fuse, already lit. "We'll see if my bomb can crack that crustacean's carapace......"

Seiga, The Library, Seal The Deal
It was nice to make acquaintances, but to have one like this was an especially rare treat. Someone who she could speak truthfully, not having to give any pretenses, or make constant teasing hints about being something more special than just a flying old woman. Especially thinking that, up until a few minutes ago, Seiga was willing to write her off as entirely mundane...and a possible replacement for Yoshika, if it ever needed to be. Now, she wouldn't dare consider it.

"Believe me, Ellen," Seiga said as she bowed deeply in return, "the pleasure and the honor is entirely mine. And that will be the one time I use that name, if you so wish. I won't be taking any chances with keeping this knowledge to myself."

There was a part of her that wanted a more capable ally, someone who could return protection...but having someone to commiserate with was better. She made Yoshika like she is just so she could have some company, but that poor jiangshi wasn't very smart, and Viola filled that gap neatly. Speaking of Jiangshi...

"I'll be careful in telling Yoshika what she needs to know about you. While she's literally incapable of telling secrets if I don't want her to, I can never be too sure," she said, looking away as she wondered what her servant was doing right now....

Yoshika, The Pier, Entertainment
Seeing there was no way she would be joining this fight, unless it came directly to her, Yoshika was content to watch it for a while. She didn't pay much attention to Plague Knight and that one kid talking, instead alleviating her hunger by chewing on a plank she had torn out from the pier.
Seiga, The Library, Back to Me
...Well, hopefully she was enjoying herself. Seiga could hear the sounds of combat in the distance, and considering that it was audible at all through a building and who knows how many layers of bookcases meant that it was too close for her own comfort.

She pointed down the aisle and towards the staircase, and said, "Now then, Viola. Do you have any plans for the rest of the day? My protection extends to your travel. If you have anywhere you'd want to go, as long as I am not doing something critical, and I would be glad to accompany you. I'd say that this library should be safe," she gave a slight nod in the general direction of the battle, "but for how long, I am unsure."

Cole winced a little, actually doubling over just a bit as Kelsey was moved, but then just as quickly, he was tapping at his stomach, then at an arm. "There...and there...hurts...hurts the worst...can't...I can't tell what or...it is bad...all of it is bad...I...I...ow..."

He stepped back a bit, shaking his head hard, seeming to get it out of his mind, before straightening back up, taking a deep breath. "...I can help find the library if you decide that is necessary...but we have to decide something quickly, or any efforts we make will be in vain."
