"...I've sparred, yes," Cinnabar said with notable hesitation, "Sure, if there's an open ring it'd be nice to have a duel," And I'm going to get my ass kicked he refrained from saying out loud.

FESTIVAL

Azure cocked her head. "You hesitated. Don't do that. You have no reason to fear me until we cross blades." She seemed equally nervous. She was hoping that her aura had become strong enough to take a blow. She couldn't have one cut paralyze her with pain in a fight.

"Oh I'm not afraid of you per se. Don't worry about it. Anyway, weapons or hand to hand?"

Cinnibar could hear Azure's smile. "Which would you prefer?" She asked as she lead him to the arenas.

Well isn't that the question... Cinnabar tugged, trying to free his arm from her grasp without falling over from momentum, "Let's go weapons, and could you please let go of me,"

Azure released him, "Sorry." She clutched her swords hilt tightly, smiling. This also lead to less work from her aura-she only had to neutralize the vibrations from her sword. "Do you know where the rings are?"

"I think I saw some... hang on..." Cinnabar, now freed from her grip, looked around, trying to figure out where exactly in the festival he was, "that way," and jabbed a finger to the left, "I think."

Azure fiddled with her helmet befote with a click, removing it. Her blue hair billowed down her back as she let Cinnibar take the lead. She seemed somewhat left comfortable from just her earmuffs and blindfold, but still, tucking her helmet under her arm, she followed him.

Cinnabar glanced back at the click, gaze resting on her blue hair for a moment before turning to face the direction he was headed. "Hang on... oh, there they are!" He said as they arrived at a cluster of sparring rings, pointing to one that seemed to be free.

Azure noticed him staring at her blue hair and smiled. "Care for a wager?" She asked as she placed her helmet in a cubby.

"That... sure, why not. What's your idea for a wager," he said warily.

Azure smiled. "If you win, what would you take from me? A dance? A lock of hair?" She asked mischeviously as she looked him up and down.

"Hmm... sure, if I win you owe me one dance at the first Beacon dance," Cinnabar said after a pause, shaking his head with a grin, "And if you win?"

"A dance? Not a lock of my hair? My, not very poetic." Azure said, before smiling as she approached him. "If I win, perhaps I shall ask for a kiss?" She asked, just to get his reaction. "No, a lock of your hair."

Cinnabar took a step back away from her nervously, "Sure, I guess that's fair... why hair, though?"

Azure stared at him, even through her blindfold, he could feel her stare. "You've never heard of Esther the Beautiful? Tormund Of the Rainbow Beard?" She asked as she left her fighting stance. Her arms crossed.

"Can't say I know of them," Cinnabar said, taking his mace in his right hand and taking a combat stance, "Old legends?"

Azure smiled. Old legend, once there was a man named Tormund, he was said to be stronger than any man of his age. He was stronger than the Iron Man of Atlas, stronger than Killian Reisentoter, stronger than me or you. Tormund was sincerely proud of his black beard which reached his knees. One day, while he sought to kill the Dragon of the Mountains, it burnt his beard off. Tormund went insane and challenged every man and woman to a duel for their hair, which he used to form a hair. Finally, he was beaten by Esther the Beautiful who wove a dress from his beard.” She said, “It doesn't make much sense but that is why we often trade locks of hair. Though some have taken to wagering a roll around the blankets.” She blushed slightly.

"Would you prefer I ask for something else?"

What... what on earth is going on here. Is she trying to throw me off my form by flirting he chuckled internally, Like anyone would need an advantage like that when fighting me. "I... look I have no idea at this point, I lost you halfway through that story as to the point of it," he gestured his mace at her, but made no aggressive moves until she appeared ready, "Condensed version of why you made that choice?"

Azure scowled at him, Cinnibar could sense the lecture that she had prepared for him, she drew her sword, awkwardly sheathed it and sighed. "Alright, there once was a great warrior. He had a pretty beard that got burnt off in a dragon's fire-" She repeated.

Cinnabar rolled his eyes but lowered his mace to rest at his side, "Yes, his beard got burnt off by dragonfire and he went nuts, began collecting the beards of others and... right, okay. Trading locks of hair is a cultural thing for Reisentoters when it comes to duels?"

"Hair and sex mostly. Hair's traditional, but everyone likes a roll around the blankets." She began to trace a circle in the sand with her big toe. She stood there in silence before dramatically drawing her sabre again, holding it before her as she threw the lance attatchment to the ground...Then, deflating somewhat. "Shall we...begin? Is there a custom to beginning fights?"

She turned around and quickly put the sheathe back on, holding the lance at the ready. Unsure of why she did what she had done.

Despite his words, Cinnabar moved very little from his position, only adjusting slightly to keep his mace directly facing Azure.

Azure advanced forward, sword raised as she prepared to slash against his right thigh. She had to be careful, any blow he landed-she hadn't sparred before, so she felt the need to take him down-hard!

Cinnabar jumped back away from the blow, but still took no major aggressive action, starting to circle around her slightly with a few feints towards her head and shoulders.
