Alien: Covenant (sequel to Prometheus)

I guess Prometheus IS an Alien film after all.

Well, gee. Who could have seen THAT coming.

I just want to see more of Elizabeth Shaw...

Oh good. More heavy-handed religious parallels. Just what I never wanted. Also a sequel to Prometheus. Something I wanted about as much as dental work. Together.

Jesus Christ, really? Paradise Lost?

More seriously. Honestly, I didn't mind the religious parallels in Prometheus, though I think Paradise Lost is one of those poems with such a huge misaimed fandom I feel the movie is gonna generate even more divisiveness than Prometheus.

I wouldn't have minded the religious parallels in the original if the movie had actually done anything with the idea. There's no challenge to womb of steel's faith, in the end, and all of it felt kind of like a moot point as a result.

Will there even be a reason to see this movie without Giger?

Paradise Lost this, Paradise Lost that, Paradise Lost the next thing. It' as if folks have never learned that John Milton, the guy they've stolen the title from, wrote a sequel.

Paradise Regained.

Oh wait, that's a hopeful thing, a positive outcome. Doesn't fit this frickin' franchise so I guess we'll stick to the same old shit.

I gave up on Alien after Resurrection so this isn't calculated to get me back in.

I have faith in Ridley Scott. The first half of Prometheus was excquisite, and frankly, the only parts I didn't like was the Idiot Ball morons who think hissing snakes are friendly pets.

From a freaking biologist, no less.

I mean yeah, biologist=\= zoologist, psychologist, but come on.

I liked the freaky designs.

And that mural was cool.

I have a number of problems with Prometheus. Some of which I'm still having trouble articulating properly. There's was just so much wrong with the movie, as it came out. I've seen glimpses of Ridley Scott's original draft, and I think that would have been a much, much better movie. What we got however, I could not enjoy. I didn't like any of the characters. I couldn't retain my suspension of disbelief for much of the movie. I was just incredibly disappointed in everything to do with the production.

Could this one turn it around for me? Maybe. Anything is possible. Ridley Scott is good at what he does, when he's allowed to do it. I just... I was so excited for Prometheus. It seemed like they finally wanted to make a good Alien, or Alien-esque, film again. Prometheus was not that. I will not be clamoring to see a sequel. I'm barely looking forward to Blomkamp's Alien film as is.

I liked David, Vickers, and Shaw. And everyone behaved like real people.... except Fifield and the other idiot.

As long as Damon Lindeloff stays ''far'm away from this film, I'm good to go.

Seriously, why Scott chose his draft over the one written by Jon Spaights is beyond me.

She has his body, remember? She lugged it with him. It's just a matter of getting it re-attached. Maybe you'll see David with Frankenstein-like stitches on his neck.

Oh she carried his body too? I thought she took only his head.

Well, there goes the idea of her attaching David's head on top of an Engineer and make a Super David. XP

Wait, I don't remember her picking up the body (unless it was already in the spaceship they got in?).

The only thing I hope for is a good script. Scott is a good director but even that cannot save a bad script.

Looks like Scott still got it, judging from the success of The Martian, so my hopes are back up.

O wonder if we will see any...
