I should have clarified I meant the second game.

My post applies almost entirely to the second game. The bots running off to do stupid things does apply to the first simply because they never fixed the AI in the second game.

Vermintide 2 due on December 18th, 2018 for PS4s.

Also, the upcoming DLC for 2 is VM1-inspired maps. Here's about the process of making them.

Wonder why they're going back to Ubersreik?

Maybe they need to go get that trunk full of awesome gear they left behind when they were captured at the end of V1? tongue

Lohner mentioned offhandedly that he had to leave behind some barrels of Bugman's he had squared away in the escape and Bardin incessantly pestered everyone that they had to return back to Ubersreik as soon as possible.

Back to Ubersreik drops on December 10th.

Still no clue if this DLC is only maps. But I can certainly spot the finale area and barracks of the Horn of Magnus in the screenshots.

Back to Ubersreik releases. The maps are remastered Horn of Magnus, Gardens of Morr, Engines of War.

The DLC also has new weapons: Kruber, Bardin and Saltzpyre are getting into more dual-wielding fun with a mace and sword, dual hammers, and an axe and falchion respectively. Kerillian has an axe, Sienna has a flaming crowbill. It has also been changed to make it impossible to play DLC maps without a host that owns its DLC.

Considering I really didn't like the Bögenhafen maps that much, that's actually a blessing in disguise. tongue

Welcome to Estalia, gentlemen.

Brace of Pistols is also being changed. Salty fires pistols in bunches of 12, which must be reloaded 2 at a time, which still much faster than the like-5 minutes it probably would actually take to reload 12 flintlock pistols.

So I guess canonically Saltzpyre has 12 pistols under his coat instead of this (12 is still a lot!)

Fatshark declares ratmen to be old news, so the Ubersreik Five (or Four) will now be fighting goatmen.

I mean, an expansion is due for the summer titled Winds of Magic, which is being used for a new game mode with variables based off the Lores of Magic. To take from the article directly:

The Winds of Magic is made up of what Fatshark is currently calling "Weaves". Each Weave will be a combination of the following elements:

  • Map: A chunk of one of the existing adventure maps, remixed to add variety. In the example I was shown, for instance, the map was played back-to-front. These maps will also look different based on which Wind is currently active.
  • Wind: A modifier based on the Winds of Magic. One example being prototyped for the Jade Wind (the Lore of Life) is that players have constant health regeneration, but take damage each time they hit an enemy.
  • Objective: Your goal in each Weave is to complete a specific task. Currently being trialled are objectives such as killing a number of enemies of a specific type and defending a capturing a number of control points.
  • Finale: Once the objective has been completed, a portal will open to an arena where players must survive a final showdown. Examples I was given included battling waves of enemies, or fighting against multiple bosses.
  • Difficulty: As players progress through Weaves, Fatshark plans to escalate the challenge far, far beyond what is currently available. The base set of Weaves will all be handcrafted, but the plan is for them to repeat at exponentially higher difficulties.

And as previously implied, BEASTMEN are going to be a new enemy faction to deal with. Lastly, new weapons will be dropping - apparently, throwing axes are one of them.

I'm glad that they're expanding the enemy roster. Plus spears and archers and stuff will definitely make you have to keep on the lookout.
