Slight bump. This game was free on Steam for a brief time during this week, and I had good fun with it.

I take it the game is "only" the board game itself (in other words, no single-player campaign or anything of the sort, only matches), and most of the interest lies in multiplayer. So I'd like to ask: Can I somehow use one account to play with my friends on their P Cs, or do the other players really need to have a copy of the game each?

I think everyone has to have a copy of the game, unfortunately.

[up] Figures sad It's a fun game, but that restriction makes it a hard sell.

Thanks for the answer, anyway.

So I got back into playing more of this when i brought bandit clan from sale since I noticed it got another new update with new cards [lol] Gotta say, I miss this game sometimes since everytime I come back it reminds you how satisfying it is to play like machiavellian.

Like, after several games, some wins, mostly loses, and some really bad luck with portals and ruins, I've finally won game without dying!(though I did try to avoid killing anyone) It was also first time I got two commendations(I don't think it helps that I like using greetings and other stuff and some characters I played with have really jerkass replies O_o;), so I'd love to think that other players agreed I did good with that game.

BTW, Twiss is disliked character to play? Why? Shes awesome for trickster stuff and pretty much impossible to kill in combat without character specialized in piercing damage. Anyhoo, so this game: My strategy was mostly avoiding pissing anyone off(so while I did play tricks and gave bounties, I avoided killing anyone so I wasn't main target of revenge to anyone) and quietly going to my quest locations to get the stuff. At one point I allied prestige pact with Mercurio(it so that Mercurio had one point lead on me) and continued that until final day. Gotta say I'm glad it worked out since I never was prestige leader(another reason to avoid killing anyone, when you don't get prestige lead you aren't main target) and prestige leader happened to never pick card that discards or swaps cards with someone else :'D See I was saving that "do as much damage as you have magic" card for whole game pretty much. Anyhoo, so what happened was: on final day, I enter the castle, kill on magic card I happened to get on round Mercurio ending the pact and gaining one point lead, wait until final night when Mercurio kills bane so I lose prestige lead again, use dat nuke spell and gain lead again. Those two Mercurio kills were only kills I did during the game and that prestige victory was sweet

(so long story short, got final day/night victory through surprise backstab. It would have failed if I got unlucky with card swap king declaration or if someone had tried to kill me with spells :'D Feels good when plan comes together)

I don't like to play Twiss, I'm probably not representative of the public heh heh.

Also Twiss is pretty annoying to deal with as well, so the players (in multiplayer) who do use her are doing something right that I can't figure out. :)

Yeah, but I meant how trope page says twiss is tier induced scrappy because " Twiss and Ghor, due to their shticks being very gimmicky. Ghor requires some RNG to make his passive really dangerous, and Twiss requires players to be a little more tricky to compensate for her very low fight. "

Like, I don't really see why character would be low tier character because the right way to play them is to be trickster/mind games since they can't murder other heroes and king as easily .-.

Ah i see.

"Spellcasters" are poor at combat, so they are screwed when they have to kingslayer for a backup. "Tricksters" at least can get into the palace easily because they usually pump Wits.

OH YEAH, I just remembered what's Twiss' #1 weakness which makes me hate playing her: Blockades.

If a guard or player stands in her way it's hard to budge them without the right spell. And with the equipment that lets you spy on quests, an opponent, if they're just a super jerk, can just stand on Twiss' quest or move a guard/bane there.

There are a lot of ways around that with character that has both high wit and spirit though [lol] Granted, you can always get screwed by rng, like I did when I got sent to opposite side of map on my first round from my quest in one of my games....

Its another reason why I'm really glad I didn't get screwed by card steals, I had that force guard to move card ready :D Like I said, that victory was so satisfying because I had tons of cards I had been saving for multiple turns and being afraid they would get stolen. At one point I had two cards and someone glamored one of them from me and luckily it wasn't spirit charge(or whatever was that uber nuke spell's name)

Yeah guards are terrible for Twiss when she don't have the guard moving thingy... [lol]

This discussion about stealing cards made me remember an incident that happened in multiplayer...

So I had Hot Rot Wine. Then Royal Flush happened. And then and opponent River stepped on a Wandering Circus by the king. And then she did the "Oh no!" chat message.

Well, thanks for revealing that you lost "my" Hot Rot Wine!

The super nuke for all of your mana is Spirit Strike. cool

Kek :D And thanks, I keep forgetting card names for some reason

Anyway, I think thats probably what I mean regarding Twiss: She works best as mind game character. Nobody is afraid of Twiss going to castle to kill the king in normal cases, if they don't have prestige lead there is no real reason to target her, if you don't piss anyone off they don't have reason to revenge kill you. Like, if you never on purpose attack someone to steal their cards, they have only themselves to blame for trying to attack you :D Does that make sense? Like, if you play her aggressively, she becomes annoying and rather easy revenge kill target, but if you play her unassumingly, nobody consider her a threat. I find that much more satisfying than Amber's "I'm gonna wreck your shit, you think you are so tough just because you aren't playing as one of later released characters".

(seriously, Amber is super brutal, even more so because since Barnaby is kind of op, you forget rabbit clan in general is evil since the original four don't really feel as op as later heroes since their special abilities aren't as flashy even though they are all pretty practical :D That prestige point per follower equipment combo ring really hurts when you actually manage to get followers and when you do, you become invincible combat and spell casting wise pretty much. It kind of feels mean to play as rabbit clan so yeah, much prefer Twiss' style)

What's wrong with Amber haha? She just walks in and out of a dungeon and then she comes back a super OP piece of !@#$? cool

Elyssia is the ultimate annoying character. Her ability is extremely visible and extremely infuriating.

All of these rabbits are like unassuming "secret OP". Meanwhile the rats look like hitmen, the wolves just want to fight you, and the bears look like pacifists (even Brun).

Twiss has like, bear stats. Heh heh.

Has anyone got any idea of what the most recent update put in the game?

Now we can talk about it!

Who the !@#$ actually uses Arson HAHAHAHA. Well now we have an opposing card that doesn't hurt as much to use and (in-universe) everyone seems to love it compared to the use of Arson.

And if I thought Lighting Strike is crazy, 6 mana to cast is really painful... compare it with 6 gold of Game of Thorns though? In the end it doesn't really help the rot victory much, but it is an option for lucky bastards or high-level spellcasters...

Fury, it only removes one max health from the King? Does it really make it much faster? Sometimes people just take forever for a turn.

Finally, how's the "atmosphere" update? Do you think it's too messy or distracting? I don't like the birds (since the last update) and that's about it.

unassumingly op is pretty good description for them yeah tongue

Anyhoo, had another awesome Twiss win, I'm so happy about it since I was underdog for most of it and screwed my chance at prestige victory by accidentally walking into stone circle while corrupted. I managed to barely snatch a rot victory when someone else tried to kill the king, failed, got killed by new prestige leader(the kingslayer attemper was previous prestige leader) :'D

Edit: I'm having best win streak of my life currently. As in my only win streak that lasted more than "you got win streak announcement, oh it just ended"(I think this was fourth. Third victory I had gotten prestige lead early on and managed to keep it until the end even though I made several big mistakes which almost cost me the lead near the end) :'D And it feels good since none of these have been easy wins X-x; Heck I think I got the last win because prestige leader got cocky and killed themselves on purpose allowing me to snatch victory with lucky card draw(magic juice plus two moon strikes, so I killed ai player with 3 health who had bounty). If Horace had attacked me instead of going to stone circle, they would have probably killed me and definitely won since I had traitor bounty level.

But yeah, I've been playing with Twiss exclusively to see how long I can keep Twiss win streak ._. I definitely don't get why someone on ymmv page thought she was in scrappy tier, sure she is tricky to play when guards and banes are in your quest spots, but she is hard to kill without spells and has tons of wit and spirit.

So, got a really close-run loss as Sargon today. I have to say that he's a surprisingly versatile rat. I'd gotten some early Spirit Stones and was going for a spirit stone victory (though Sargon isn't very good at that) but that plan stalled out because of that damn Elyssia making the kingdom impossible to traverse. So with the clock ticking and Elyssia in an unassailable prestige position, I just went "screw it," loaded up for lion hunting, and stormed the palace defenses like no big deal.

Elyssia then promptly laid down an entire hand full of various treacheries on me to strip away my best gear (in particular my blacksmith, argh) and saboteurs to keep my dice from exploding. It was enough that I ended up mutual-killing the king and giving the game to said rabbit.

I think the rats are surprisingly strong. Will try Vosha soon - she ought to be a killing machine.

So the new Rivals heroes have come up recently. They're 75% underwhelming.

Fang - Pump fight and wits and make your dice explode. Forget Body. Saboteur kills him so bad, and so would Immolate. Still has to get lucky dice rolls to not get hit.

Hargrave - If yer one of those players who felt that River as a character got worse and worse as you got better at this game, then this guy will feel like garbage.

Yordana - I can't say! I still don't understand what she does. I better play more or do some research.

Griotte - Actually kinda crazy... at night! Unfortunately she's not part of the rabbit clan so she can't use the double settlement income and really cash in on those trickeries. Taking away her settlements is an indirect counter to her, making her trickeries expensive and cutting down her income.

I really like the Ranger's Cloak, as it allows her to hide during the day.
