Even if Konami is still garbage once they decide to outsource a new Rising, I doubt Platinum Games would mess that game up...

My Deviant Art account. There might be art there. Sometimes.Platinum probably wouldn't screw things up, but I have doubts about the other half of the equation. I don't think they'd be willing to partner with Platinum again because their games typically aren't money machines.
Lampshade Hanging: It's a lifestyle.@stevebat: Which I still can't buy on PC...so fuck Konami for making it IMPOSSIBLE to buy that game legally in East/Southeast Asia.
Give me cute or give me...something?I thought Rising sold pretty well.

You know, I have to wonder why Pit is obsessed with this site. It’s gonna ruin his life!I know. It felt like a good chance to use Katara's PERFECTLY CALM line.
ah, "completely". I must now punish my failing memory by marathoning the series

As much as I am disappointed with how Konami has been handling things and the like, I may have to put some of the blame for their current ways of thinking on MGSV, as much as I love that game. From what I've read, that game cost $80 million to make, and that's not even counting the amount put into marketing. All in all, that makes it the most expensive game that they've ever published, and even though it sold 3 million units, it still needs to sell that same amount again to break even.
Basically, them going for a more mobile focused future may have been because of this. That's not to let them completely off the hook (they are the ones who supplied the money after all), but as much as it pains me to say it, Kojima Productions may have to share some of the blame.
That 80 million also includes the Fox Engine, something that would make future games much cheaper to make in addition to other people buying your stuff to use in making their games.
So if the basic AAA title cost 50 million and the fox engine knocked it down to 40 million then that 80 million investment would make some serious money in the long run..
In addition to Japanese developers tend to buy only from other Japanese companies if they can so they would snatch up a lot of business from Unreal in Japan since they would get people just from that alone in addition to it being a pretty good next gen engine.

In a perfect world, shareholders would keep that sort of thing in mind, and give the guy that possibly earned them tens of future millions a medal. In reality, most can't seem to think beyond next week. Heck, most probably don't even know they own stocks in a given company, considering that most stock trading is done via computer algorithm.

It still made some money now, from what I have read, and even though most AAA titles are front loaded any sales from here on out will be profits especially with digital distribution and those occasional sales in 6 months or a year.

They might be faking it though.

If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?CEO of Konami: "Kojima... I'M BURNING UP!"
Personally, I think Konami should just doing AAA altogether. If they want to do Pachinko, fine with them. But at least still make games, even if they're not AAA anymore, with the Pachinko business being a way to earn money for said games.
I'd rather Konami stop making games than get another Homecoming.
I don't care who makes the next Suikoden game, as long as someone does, and it's not Konami. I'm done with Metal Gear, because that franchise will have to be pried from Konami's shambling, rotting corpse.
I'm trying to figure something out about this topic. Is it just to bitch about Konami as a business? Because if it is, we have a procedure for such threads, called the lock button.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"
Metal Gear Rising, might be still be decent if they continue down that line.
Apocalypse: Dirge Of Swans.
