In the wake of an series of school violence almost 20 years ago, the American legistation passed an zero-tolerance weapons ban on school grounds. But the catch is that they left out the part on exactly what a weapon is. So let's face it: We've all heard of the occasion story of an student getting suspended or being expelled for leaving an pocketknife in their car or an water balloon fight but how many students shootings did these laws prevent?

Side note: Thread is half-done due to text limit on my PSP.

I'll wait until you've finished writing the OP (which should include a definition of "zero tolerance" policies, to begin with) before I really open this thread.
