Hello all I've come here to ask what you all think about this character I have thought up for a story I'm thinking about writing (that I still don't have a name for unfortunately.).

She's a Japanese american woman born in 1960 to parents raised in Japanese interment camps and a grandfather being a veteran for the 442nd infantry regiment. During her time growing up she's really developed really devout patriotism for America due to spending lots of time with her grandfather. This got to the point where in college she wound up in the CIA as a field operative participating in many of the operations that took place in the early 80's.

That most of what I want to say for now but I will elaborate if asked. Right now I'm just throwing the idea out there and see what people say.

Thank you for your time.

That would make her formative years the late 60s to 70s. She would have a pretty good idea of what the tail end of the Vietnam War looked like, and that might figure into her joining a student organization that would lead to her getting picked by the CIA, yes? So what was she doing that the CIA wanted to make use of her skills (and was it something like Three Days Of The Condor at all)?

Yes more or less. I feel that she would join out of a scenes of duty to her country and being unable to join the military like her grand father. Right now I'm going with her showing skills in espionage and marksmenship being the main reason for her becoming a field agent. However if anyone can come up with a more logical reasone I would like to hear it.
