Shylocke looked over to Richard and shrugged. As long as he was taking that egg out of the jungle first, they'd have nothing to worry about. And he certainly couldn't argue with anything giving him first run of a dead man's belongings. He knelt down and ran his hands over the body, searching for anything worth a look.
"Move quickly gentlemen, things usually don't take kindly to people looting their nests" says Sellira with her bow still at the ready "How many of the eggs do we need?"
If I'm sure of something it's that I'm not sure of anything.Naratus tied his horse to a convenient branch and then followed Richard and Shylocke, sword drawn and spear ready to throw, guarding their backs.

Trump delenda estWhile three of you are alert, there is no sign of danger.
Shylocke's search of the dead man reveals not very much unusual. A few supplies, a crude map roughly identical to the one Kristoph had obtained, and a few coins. There is no apparent indication of who this man was working for. The only clue is that the man is not dressed like the locals, but the map already told you that much.
"Can...can we go now?" Kristoph asks quietly, walking up behind him, "I'm not sure we want to be here if more dragonflies or adventurers show."
Expergiscēre cras, medior quam hodie. (Awaken tomorrow, better than today.)Shylocke takes the dead adventurer's purse, as well as the map. No need to let either go to waste, after all. They could even compare the two maps to narrow down the next day's search area, and he'll split the coins if his colleagues insist. Finally, he stands up, surveying the area one last time before stating, "yeah, we're done here."
"Agreed, and since I can't do much with my hands full..." Rich said, handing the eggs to his employer, "they're your responsibility now, boss. Now, let's get these somewhere safe, and we can sort out the legends of the hidden temple after that."
He leaned over the body, muttered a brief prayer - "May you be more useful dead than you were alive," - and picked up the man's mace with a faint look of disgust. "Any of you know how to use this? Could use some polish, though."

Not a substitute for a formal medical consultation."A mace is not exactly my weapon of choice... while the shock and blow is nice, it is not quite as maneuverable as I like" mentions Sellira, glad they had cleared one of the requirements for their mission already... and fairly painlessly at that while she recovered the arrow she shot earlier, returning it to her quiver "Then, let us go back somewhere safe for our employer"
If I'm sure of something it's that I'm not sure of anything."I am as well armed as I wish to be," Naratus said, "but thank you."
Trump delenda est"Tch," Richard remarked, slightly disappointed. He wiped the mace off on the dead man's tunic and slipped it into the belt of his robes. "Want not, waste not. Now let's get out of here - I'm not getting any younger."
Not a substitute for a formal medical consultation."Your wishes are orders" remarks the elven woman with a wry smile as she begins to trace their way back towards civilization... or at least, away from the nests.
If I'm sure of something it's that I'm not sure of anything."Lead the way," Kristoph says, smiling slightly.
Your small group slowly makes your way back through the jungle, but without further incident. Shortly after the sun sets, you find yourselves back in the island's small town.
"If you don't mind, I'll go turn the egg in," Kristoph asks as you stand at the edge of the town, "I'll see you tomorrow."

Expergiscēre cras, medior quam hodie. (Awaken tomorrow, better than today.)Shylocke slid the extra map into Kristoph's back pocket, seeing that his hands were full with the eggs. "Once you drop those off, see if you can narrow down tomorrow's search area. I'll be off scouting the competition."
With that, he broke off from the group and faded into the background, wandering around town to see how close the other hunters were to victory.
"I'll get some shut eye and get some scouting in early in the morning, gentlemen... see if I can get a trail on this temple, I'll call onto the lot of you" says the elven woman as she smiles and retreats for the evening.
If I'm sure of something it's that I'm not sure of anything."A night on the town, goblin?" Rich chuckled, thinking along the same lines as Shylocke. "I'll go with you, then. You never know what you might find."

Not a substitute for a formal medical consultation.Shylocke nodded and beckoned Rich forward. This would likely be an interesting night. "I suggest we start with the pub. Alcohol breeds loose lips. Barring that, the market. People tend to splurge when they think their purse is about to swell."
And so all of you go your separate ways for the evening.
Shylocke and Rich returned to the pub, only to promptly get ejected by the bouncer, since they had forgotten about having been kicked out earlier in the day. Naratus went and saw to his horse, which was difficult seeing as there were no formal stables on the islands. He had to settle for leaving him tied to a tree. As for Sellira...what she did was her own business, and no one was about to ask her what it was.
The next morning, you all meet up in the middle of the town, this time all of you prepared to go it on foot.. It doesn't take long before Kristoph arrives, looking fresh and clean despite yesterday's adventure.
"Are you all ready to go find this Morcarack?"
Expergiscēre cras, medior quam hodie. (Awaken tomorrow, better than today.)Shylocke figured subtlety was out the window when the bouncer literally threw him out of the pub. Demoralized, he instead decided to head to the outskirts of town and get some rest.
In the morning, he approached Kristoph, trying to shrug off the previous night. "Sufficiently ready, at least. Rich and I didn't have any luck finding anything out, so we have no idea how many people are going after this last item." He paused for a moment, considering any other information they could gain before leaving. "Did you manage to make any sense out of the two maps?"
"So it goes," Rich mused, more than a little sore about getting thrown out of the bar again. "We might as well go and search for it, because I don't think we're getting anything else out of the people here."
Not a substitute for a formal medical consultation.Sellira stretches out as they begin to set out "Hmm~ Morning gentlemen" she says with her arms high over her head, standing on her tip toes before relaxing "Did some early scouting out but I didn't find a thing... hopefully with all the day free for this, we'll finally find this temple"
If I'm sure of something it's that I'm not sure of anything."So will the terrain be more suited to riding than the last expedition or should I make some arrangement to leave my horse here?," Naratus asked. "Not that this place is civilized enough to have a stable but I'm not about to leave him unattended."
Trump delenda est"I suppose I can hire one of the locals to watch him," Kristoph said, "Besides, we would have to go inside the temple, and we probably couldn't bring your horse inside with us. Which reminds me...how did you get your horse to this island anyway? I wouldn't have thought any ships would have had space. I'm just wondering...never mind. We should just go."
Expergiscēre cras, medior quam hodie. (Awaken tomorrow, better than today.)"There will be a time to reflect on the ways of horses and ships, but it is not now," Rich mused, tapping his foot impatiently. "Can we move on?"
Not a substitute for a formal medical consultation."Of course, boss. Let us get going then" says Sellira carelessly as she begins to walk in order to head onto the jungles and wilderness outside of town, where they will, hopefully, find their temple.
If I'm sure of something it's that I'm not sure of anything.Shylocke nodded and fell in step behind Kristoph, hoping to wrap this expedition up decisively. Hopefully, they wouldn't spend too much time looking for their objective.
"First order of business: secure our prize, before we share this man's fate," Richard replied, gingerly scooping up the two remaining eggs. "And I was just thinking that if I came across the dragonfly eggs first, I'd have tried to destroy the remaining ones too, just to ruin the scavenger hunt for everyone else."
He stared at the body. "Anyway, I don't think he'll be needing his personal effects any longer, so as the goblin of the hour, I suppose you get dibs on them. Who knows? We may even be able to find out who he was working for."
