Yeah, kind of wanted word from all of you. (So the rest of you can officially blame this on daltar. tongue)

Posting to the main thread now.

Quick point: while using spoilers for telling me what spell you're casting is okay, don't ask questions about how you should play with them. Ask them here instead.

Also, new post going up.

We've got a knight on horseback charging into the thick of the swarm. I'd say the surprise round passed a long, long time ago.

It never actually said he charged in among the dragonflies, so...

With that said, I've made a decision: he can't be on horseback, "rode to the fore" bit aside. (You couldn't ride a horse through thick jungle, even if you had managed to boat it over to the island.) I realize I should have covered this sooner, but I need to make this clear.

Edit: On second thought, I'll handle this without having you rewrite your posts. You'll see...

Currently having computer problems. If you don't hear from me today or tomorrow assume I will be gone indefinitely.

ETA: Well, it's walking with a limp but at least it's walking.

Uh, daltar, only one dragonfly has approached the party. (Sorry if this wasn't clear.) You probably want to revise your post.

Do you guys want me to just go ahead and skip to the next day, or would you rather have your characters bounce around for a while doing their own thing(s)? I'm cool either way, just want to know before I post again.

I would say either way, have all characters commit to an action. That way, if we do do a time skip, we simply learn the results of the action, followed by a "next morning" prompt.

Sorry, I kinda forgot to post. Got sidetracked. *facepalm* I would be okay with skipping, but I'll have a post out soon. My bad.

I have sent a PM to tricksterson to ask him to post, in case people were wondering.

Is this still alive, and should we timeskip to the jungle?

Well, I'm fine with skipping ahead, but since I'd rather not do two posts back to back, someone needs to post something in between so I can move this along.

If no one wants to do anything, the RP will die a quiet death.

So is this RP thread slowly dying? Last post was over a week ago, and nobody's touched it since. If that's the case, I'm chill with that. I'd just like to be sure.

I was away for a couple of days, but yeah. I can't keep having to PM people just to get them to post.

If no one objects (not that I expect anyone to), I'll just dump a few spoilers for what I had planned and end the whole thing.

Apologies, but I've kinda lost interest (and am having enough trouble keeping my own campaign going). Wouldn't mind hearing your original plot, though.

If the RP has dieded, then I suppose I'd like to hear how this was planned to go, and posit how we, the P Cs, might have taken things off the rails.

Okay, since I have a moment, here's some of what would have happened. (And no, nothing went off the rails.)

  • It should be pretty obvious that Morcarack was a dragon. But he was going to be a semi-friendly dragon, so it was okay. He'd show you to the actual temple, just to get the people off the island (dragons don't like adventurers on their doorstep, for obvious reasons).

  • As quite a few of the not-really-subtle hints I dropped implied, Kristoph was actually a girl. Specifically, Crystal Markham, illegitimate daughter of Lord Markham (the guy running the contest), trying to win an inheritance her father would never ever ever give her. Morcarack would have been the one to reveal her, uh, female-ness to you all.

  • Lord Markham is pretty much a dick. (And this wasn't something I made up; he's basically that way in the original game too.) He'd try to weasel out of giving his daughter her due once you helped win the contest. One way or another, though, he would have been forced to acknowledge her as the winner.

  • Harmondale turns out to sit right on the border of a pair of feuding kingdoms, hence why Lord Markham was trying to dump it off on someone dumb skilled enough to win his contest. The next stage of the plot would have involved Kristoph/Crystal getting caught up in that feud and you guys having to help sort it out.

  • Beyond that...well, I don't want to spoil the plot of MMVIII, do I? I'll just say that I had my own variation on the story partially planned, and leave it at that.

Would you mind any of us posting a "what happened after" segment, just to give things a sense of closure?
