How do you decide that sort of thing?

So if someone finds something they like, they can just make a page?

Yes. All works use tropes, and are therefore tropable, no matter how obscure. This policy has a couple of caveats, however:

  • Avoid stubs. Make sure you put in enough trope examples (and crosswick them) to make the article worthwhile for someone to read.
  • No porn. That is, works created primarily for the purpose of sexual arousal, lacking any other artistic merit.
  • No pedo stuff: works sexualizing children are banned. When in doubt, consult the Content Policy.
  • The work should exist in some form that is accessible to more people than just its author (but see Unpublished Works).
  • You don't have any special privileges regarding works that you are the author of. The Fic May Be Yours But The Trope Page Is Ours.
  • Nonfiction works may be discussed on the basis of their use of production and story tropes, but the events and people depicted are off limits for trope examples.
  • Work articles are not judgmental. Make sure you aren't making it just to bitch (or gush) about the work.
