Not bad for a starter, but the "warrior" aspect is a little lacking.
Spear + Shield says warrior strongly enough for me.

I like 1. The character fits a visual warrior motif very well. The only think more blatant would be full plate.
The Final Fantasy characters are too big for this trope.

I do too, and I really like the ant for scale. It gives a good visual punch of just how small this trope is supposed to be. It's not for characters that are child sized.
