I think the Blu-Ray's "laconic" description could be a lot better. It doesn't really describe what Blu-Ray really is, instead using a metaphor to state what is ultimately an opinion, if a fairly well-founded one.
I think a better laconic description would be "The primary high-definition optical disc format." Something along those lines, anyways. Just say what it is, straight-up.
