I understand that but they should wait until the game is out. We should have a chance to play their work before we decide if they're worth giving money to.

I know Inafune did request Bad Box Art Mega Man be in Tatsunoko vs Capcom, and make X the villain of the Zero series. (It was changed to Copy-X at the very last minute when someone realized having actual X become the villain would make the X series upsetting/sad.)

(It was changed to Copy-X at the very last minute when someone realized having actual X become the villain would make the X series upsetting/sad.)

That didn't stop them from making the classic series a tragedy retroactively.

Or, you know, having X be bleak all by itself.

So how long do you guys wager it'll be until we get fan art for Red Ash?

As someone who's interested in MN 9 when does finally come out, but has been totally uninterested in Megaman, I have to say all this controversy is arcane and fascinating to me.

Well, I prefer to hope for good games rather than predict their downfall. Here's to hoping Red Ash is a success.

"How long until fan art"? There's already hentai pictures of Red Ash Call.

Wait, have you actually seen them or are you saying that because of that Internet rule of thumb where whenever something new gets out, hentai pictures of it show up?

(And yes, I know it's called Rule 34.)

Keep in mind Comcet isn't actually developing it, they're handing it over to another studio.

Looking into it further, the studio they hired is incredibly inexperienced with this type of game.

[up] Wait, what?

Where'd you hear that?

Also, you guys remember when I asked when we'll see Expies of the Bonne family?

(It looks like we kinda already did. This is from the announcement trailer at 0:33.)

Guess I called it.

Whoops! Unintentional Call zing!

Slightly worried. At least Might No 9 had the Mega Man 9 and 10 studio.

[up] Oh, here's what you were talking about:

HYDE Inc. is working with Comcept on Red Ash.

Yeah, no one's heard squat about this HYDE Inc., have they?

According to some research, they haven't done much besides some mobile games.

"It's early enough that some things might change, but the idea is to pool resources, with comcept providing raw ideas and character designs, Studio 4C turning it into animation while also helping to provide visuals for the game, and the raw coding gruntwork being handled by Hyde, Inc (a company whose main work apparently consists of showing up to save well-known dev teams that have found themselves needing outside help to get out of a jam... but since that's embarrassing, Hyde's not allowed to talk about their involvement in many of the games they've helped on. Apparently this is common in Japan).

[up] There's something about it on Therapy Is for the Weak, which is the same reason why a lot of anime, manga, etc. don't have therapists for problems.

So how many games is Inafune working on now? I know there's this, the oft delayed MN 9 and Re Core, but is there anything else?

Isn't anyone starting to get the feeling he might be spreading himself a bit too thin? Also, asking for Kickstarter money before you last one has even finished is super questionable.

I dunno what to say, perosnally I never really liked the Mega Man spinoffs (not counting X or Zero, I'm talking about Battle Network and MML) so I dunno what to say.

I kinda want to note that as far as I know Comcept nor Inafune are really developers. They don't make games; they make games happen. They might supply the core ideas of a game, but they're not directly in charge of the specific game mechanics or level design or stuff like that.

I wouldn't say Inafune is really spreading himself thin; he's used to working on quite a number of projects at once at Capcom.

Well I will say this, the anime studio they are hiring is pretty high quality in the 2d animation department. Can't say the same for the game studio tho
