bRuH continues practicing her knife skills in the training room, hacking away slowly at straw dummies. He gets progressively better as he starts to get the feel for the blade in her hand.
i think i mostly want to see what happens when this whole place breaks apart
They decide to go walk around and find the others.
I see, I am very excited to meet this creature!
"Yes the chamber is ready, I would offer to help you carry it but I don't know if it would be considered impolite to lay my hands on it!"

Greg takes a seat. "Well, so far, so good, actually." He smiles a bit. "It's not as difficult as I imagined it might be. What about you? Did you get your office set up ok?" He asks.
Old habits die hard, especially when no one else lets them die either.
Oh... forgot one detail... she's also 3 feet tall
"I'm as free as the dust in the solar wind."
"...I'll get it."
*I rush off to the fridge, pull my own flesh out of there, then dash off back to store it in the containment room.*
The fact that only 140 characters are allowed here is honestly so disappointing to me.
They arrive at the pool. "So, what's up?"
To Greg: Chris smiles, "I'm glad everything is going well so far. I don't have the office perfect yet, but it's closer. The power's faulty and I still need a weapon to hide in there, but otherwise... it's as close as I can get it to being done with for now. I'm... glad you took the time to leave the bridge... I didn't know if I was overstepping any bounds or anything with that..."
To Peter: "Hi there"
"I'm as free as the dust in the solar wind."
"Excellent! I keep this room locked so it will be most secure here! Congratulations on doing away with your flesh, I am sure your new form is most efficient! I think I will go and then take a look at this pool, that is an intriguing thing to have on a vessel such as this!"

*I nod to Laithelryn, then retire to a small unclaimed room, which subsequently becomes mine. Other people might need to use the engineering room, after all, so I can't claim that.*

"Ah, well, some progress is better than none. Also, no worries, you didn't overstep any boundaries. I welcome everyone's opinion and point of view in things, even my own actions." Greg assures.
"Hello, Peter. Yes, everyone else has designated work spaces for themselves. Perhaps someone could assist you with that, if you want one."

I smile at Peter, "Yeah, I'm the Morale Officer/Counselor/Keeper of the Peace, and somewhere in there someone gave me the rank of Lieutenant which I didn't complain about. I took up office space in one of the smaller quarters and took out the bed and spruced up the place a bit. Haven't gotten any official clients yet, but I hand out advice when I feel it's needed all the same. How are you taking this "we're in space" business?"

Laithelryn enters the pool room, curious to see a pool aboard a space vessel. "I have special quarters as well! engie help me make them very secure!"

They shrug. "It's fine. Pretty good, actually." They say to Chris.
"Well, I think I can work in the control room for now, see how it goes." They reply Greg.
Laithelryn notices the creature in the pool and curiously approaches it.
"Hello there small entity! What is your name?"

Lex leaps out of the pool effortlessly and approaches the stranger angrily, her haunches raised, hissing. I hold out my hand toward her, signalling to her that everything is okay. She warily approaches, and brushes up against both Peter and Lai.
"Her name is Lex, Lai. Be careful, she still has quite a lot to learn."

"You are most intriguing! I am very pleased to meet you Lex!"

They pet Lex.
Lex makes sweet cooing sounds at Greg petting her head.
She is more wary of Peter, but let's them pet her regardless.
"Actually... no, I don't know what species she is. Which is weird, now that I think about it." He gestures towards Exobiology and Xenomorphology laying on top of a pile of towels nearby, "I've been reading that book for a good portion of my time here... and I can't find her in it. Granted, that monstrosity of a book only contains the species A'aalia through Anatreax, so she might be in another volume. Or she metamorphoses later on."

"I see, once I return to the library I will make sure to find any books I can that might help and bring them to you right away! How did you find her?"
Laithelryn turns back the the creature and continues to try and play with her as if she was a kitten.

"I would appreciate that Lai, thank you. I found her in the cafeteria last night rooting through a trash bin. For all I know, she could technically be a pest of sorts that we should be spraying for or something." He roughs up Lex's hair, "You're not a pest, are you? Are you? No... I didn't think so."
Lex watches Lai, making playful swipes with her little squirrel-like paws at his hand as they pass by her.
