We, The Tropers, Are All Stuck In A Spaceship!

The vendor looks over with a face of utter disgust as the skbollot splats against the ground and lets out a squeal of pain, Chris hands over a handful of credits and walks further into the market, eventually finding the Earth stall.

Lex enters the room and sits next to Lai, "How are you? I haven't seen you in a while."

Jiko, after getting over his initial feeling of awe at being planet-side for so long, immediately goes about looking for someone who can lead him to someone who can work with his...particular body situation. He asks the first person he sees.

"I am well, I have just been very busy sorry. With my spirit freed this book of mine has revealed much more to me. How are you Lex?"

The little brown creature prods the blue skinned man as he hums sadly, a second, dark gray one wakes up and also starts prodding him, he looks over to his little friends who point between Jiko, in the midst of a conversation with one of the locals, and the ship. He moves forward toward the bars of the cage, and calls out to him, "Hey, buddy! Do you have a minute?"

"I've been doing good." She looks over the book, curious, "What manner of book changes between readings, Lai?"

"Er...me?" Jiko asks, stepping up, "Yeah?"

"One which is linked to memories of the past. When I held it previously I shielded it so that only I could read it, with my spirit in a different form it would not fully reveal its contents to me. I am sorry that I have been sealed in here so long, it is important that I learn all I can from this book though."
Laithelryn smiles at Lex and holds out the book, written in the script of Elcarin, for her to read.
"I am glad you are well, how are your powers coming along?"

The man looks over at the ship, "Are you with that ship? Any chance I could talk you into doing me a favor?"

Lex looks at it, not recognizing the script, "I'd always wondered what the writing of your people looked like..." She looks back up to Lai, "Can you tell me what some of it says? I understand if it's private, though... it sounds like it might be. My powers seem like they're settling into place, and I think your training really helped with that. Thank you."

"I cannot tell you but not because it is private, these are just lists of letters. This book contains important information but not in written form. I can teach you some of out language though if you would like?"

Jiko crosses his arms and regards the man with a mix of curiosity and mistrust.

"Well I suppose that depends on the favor."

Lex smiles, "I'd really like to learn some of the language if you have time."

He looks over toward the guard asleep by the cage, then back to Jiko, "Listen... I don't expect you to believe me... but I didn't do anything wrong... well... I stole a bit of bread... but I've been in this cage for three days now... could you help me out? Maybe let me come aboard the ship?"

The guard stirs a bit, but keeps dreaming.

"Of course I the time, would you like to start now?"

She examines the page eagerly, "Yes, that would be great."

"Okay then, lets go to one of the library tables."
Laithelryn heads towards just such a table, levitating many writing implements and pieces of paper over as well.

Jiko ponders for a bit before holding up a finger and stepping away from the cage, holding his wrist communicator to his mouth and sending out a message to anyone from the ship on planet.

"Could I have someone that can...read minds, I guess...meet me at this beacon. I don't know the ethics of having psychic powers or anything but if someone is able I'd like to find something out. Er...over." He can't help but feel a little foolish.

((Greg uses a Phoenix Down on the chat. Revived!))

Greg's head perks up suddenly, looking at his commbadge. He then looks at Chris. "You heard that, right?"

-I am in my room.-

Peter joins Greg and Chris. "What's going on now?"

Lex examines the writing implements, before choosing a quill and an inkwell full of lavender liquid and a pulls a stack of off-white paper toward her. She smiles, very excited now.

Chris looks over at the two of them, nodding to Greg while answering Peter, "I'm not sure, actually...not sure which of us this would be better suited for. Possibly all of us..."

His eyes take on a far away look as he begins to walk toward the beacon, broadcasting to Jiko as he does so, What's wrong?

The man in the cage nods sadly, looking at his creature friends.

"The language is complicated but it has had very little variation throughout the time it has been used. Once you know it you will be able to read things both new and ancient."
Laithelryn looks almost as excited.

Feeling the mental message makes him feel odd, but he decides to just...think back.

Uh, this little caged blue guy wants me to help him out, maybe get on the ship. Not my ship though, so...I thought I would ask someone with more pull.

He follows Chris.

Lex's eyes gleam at Lai's words, and she begins by copying down the first symbol on the page, trying to be as exact as she possibly can.

Chris receives the message and responds, Right, we're on our way. Thanks, Jiko.

After a few minutes, the three of them join him at the cage, just as the guard's three eyes flutter open, "What's going on here??"

Jiko steps back to let Chris take the floor, as it were, but keeps his hands free just in case he needs to help in some way.

"Would you like to learn to speak the language as well? Considering your new powers I could always share that knowledge directly."

Because nobody else seemed inclined to I shall claim the 10000th post. ^_^
