((Sorry I’m late. I didn’t see that we were starting until today.))
Alistair was in a sour mood. Not only were the pains from the water in his body especially bad today, but he had taken extra time to get to Silverspring because the map he bought from a merchant in the next town over was completely wrong. He had come on foot wearing his dark brown testificate robes. On his back was a backpack containing a bed roll, his other clothes, his surgical tools, notes, and some writing utensils. His sword was hanging in a sheath on his back next to his backpack.
He walked into the tavern that Timberwolf had walked into and looked around. He noticed some other halfworlders and was glad that he wasn’t the only one in town. Alistair sat down at the bar and ordered. “I’ll have a mug of testificate ale.”
The Timberwolf slowly finishes carving something into the bar. It is a rune that resembles an "R" with a tail coming down from the top and a dot in the center. He remains hunched over his honey mead once done, but visibly tenses up whenever he hears the door open.
Eden continued to shadow the unusual Testificate, more out of curiosity than anything else at this point. They seemed to be headed to the darker side of town, which alone sparked their interest without considering the other factors, and they slipped ahead to continue investigating.
Anasurimbor checks the rooms, one by one.
Uri stares after the thief for a moment, and then shrugs and goes back to work. He methodically searches through the rooms, taking anything he considers valuable.
It would require a singularly stupid man to do something like that. I am most definitely that man.Shylock has had many lifetimes to learn to trust his instincts, so he quickly goes on the lookout for danger. On the outside however, he appears as calm and collected as ever.
The cloak chuckles, and raises his glass to the other anonymous figure in a mock toast. He then promptly goes back to nursing his drink, pretending to have stopped paying attention to the room.
This is definitely the darkest timeline.Sy hitches her horse, and heads up the spring hill, looking for a manager or employee to talk to about payment.
The enemy's gate is a spirograph.Nine out of ten is good enough.
Eden, still following Shylock, notices that the testificate is definitely looking around a bit more. Shylock, meanwhile, catches a glimpse of a movement off to his right, and another ahead of him... multiple followers, or just one?
Alistair enters the tavern and orders his ale, then looks around the room. There are definitely several halfworlders, as well as someone in a rather large and furry cloak who looks a bit tense.
The Timberwolf, meanwhile, tenses up yet again as the door bangs open and a halfworlder, who is breathing rather heavily, makes his way into the room. Several of the people in the tavern raise their glasses to him as he makes his way to the counter - he must be a regular.
Sy approaches the springs part of the hill and notices that aside from a small stand selling various kinds of bottles, nothing much is going on. There is someone at the springs, apparently bottling water.
X enters the town square and notices immediately that there are three buildings that might be of use to her - a tavern, which is loud and bustling; a Nochite church, which is quiet but still has lights flickering in it; and what appear to be the archives of the town.
Back in the inn, Uri stealthily makes his way from room to room. While searching a room, however, he hears creaking several rooms behind him. Someone must have come back to their room.
Anasurimbor doesn't notice anything unusual about the rooms. They appear to have been opened for cleaning, as there's no evidence of anyone having been in any of them.
Over on the bad side of town, the Cloak toasts the hooded figure mockingly... unfortunately, they seem to have taken that as an invitation to come over to the table he's sitting at, because that's exactly what they do, taking the seat across from him. "Nice hood, guy."
When everything changes nothing changes.Bjormunde finishes his honey-mead, grabs his pack and walks out of the tavern. The sign is there, time to get out before something happens. He drops a northern silver piece on the bar by accident before heading for he door, weaving in between people.
Eden ducks inside a tavern as they pick up that their quarry is noticing them. They have to be careful; they're already acting very suspicious, but ... to be honest, they don't know how to not act suspicious.
X briefly thinks about going toward the archives, just for the sake of learning, but sighs and heads toward the tavern. There are people there and living people are more likely to have current information than records from years ago. Besides, if no one has new information, she can check out the archives later.
Obsidian sighs and stands up, "Old tomes on legends... as if a legend is ever true."
Anasurimbor shrugs, and turns back, heading towards his room.
Uri decides he's taken enough, and exits through the window, heading towards the fence that the anonymous thief had told him about.
It would require a singularly stupid man to do something like that. I am most definitely that man.Shylock keeps his path steady, feigning ignorance of the potential pursuit.
Unsure of what else to do, Sy heads towards the bottler, and attempts to start a conversation.
The enemy's gate is a spirograph.Putting on a falsely cheerful demeanor, the Cloak replies, "Ooh yes! It's so warm and comfortable and easy to get bloodstains out of!"
This is definitely the darkest timeline.Alistair thanked the bartender after he gave Alistair a tankard. The figure in the cloak had caught his eye. He was sitting with the other halfworlders who were all making conversation. Alistair turned the situation over in his head for a moment and then putting a coin down on the bar, he got up and sat down at a table with the figure and a few of the halfworlders. "Its nice to see some fellow halfworlders here."
Wow, ten out of ten people!
In unrelated news, I'll be on vacation until the 25th. Updates will be sporadic, but I'll try and get one in every day if possible.
On to the game.
Inside the spring-hill tavern, the Timberwolf makes his exit just as someone sits down at his table and strikes up a conversation with the other halfworlders.
Alistair, meanwhile has the empty seat next to him (formerly occupied by the person in the rather furry cloak) taken by the heavily breathing halfworlder, who has red hair. Said man grins at Alistair as he hears the scientist greet them. "Oh yeah, absolutely. You wanna stick to this tavern, some parts of the town aren't so nice. And speaking of which, what brings you here?"
On the spring hill itself, Sy attempts to strike up a conversation with the bottler, and succeeds - the bottler, a girl with dark skin and red ribbons in her hair, appears to be quite friendly. "Nice tuh meetcha! Wonderful day, innit?"
Over in the town square, X enters the tavern silently. Nobody seems to notice her - everyone except for a lone man in the corner is holding a conversation.
In the library, the Nether researcher seems momentarily taken aback by Obsidian's comment. "...The Nether's pretty real; hell, people live there. There's just a whole lot of slimebone surrounding the matter of it, that's what I'm trying to clear up!"
Anasurimbor returns to his room and is immediately struck by the feeling that something is wrong.
Uri, meanwhile, heads out of the inn and into the shadier part of town to meet the mystery thief's friend. Along the way there, he matches pace with a testificate on a horse.
Shylock no longer feels like he's being watched - however, there's now someone beside him, heading into the same part of town he is.
Eden slips into a tavern and is somewhat deafened by the sheer amount of noise inside. A girl with short brown hair slips by them and makes their way to the counter while they stand there.
The Cloak snarks at the hooded figure across from them, only to be met with a grin in response. "Oh, I'm sure. And I suppose it's excellent at hiding your Voidmark as well?"
When everything changes nothing changes. The Cloak casts an appraising eye at the stranger, and settles to a more normal voice. "Don't be silly, this couldn't possibly be a void mark. Everybody knows that void marks only cover half of the face."
This is definitely the darkest timeline.Bjormunde thinks about leaving town, but no. He still has buisness to attend to. Bjormunde swings his pack with the weapons and armor, and the shield saying "Weapons Sold" and started off to the second tavern, the one in the shadier part of town. The mark is in one Tavern, but his scattered crew would be more likely to go to the shadier tavern to avoid being recognized, so the Timberwolf has to mark it as well.
Alistair smiled at the jovial halfworlder and took a drink of his ale. He used this time to formulate his story. He was weighed the pros and cons of telling the truth of his motivations. On the one hand being honest or at least partially honest about his intentions to study Herobrine could attract more like minded scientists to replace his colleagues that that met their end at the hands of Herobrine.
On the other there was enough danger of someone from his old liege's court recognizing him without. There weren't many halfworlder biologists roaming the Craftlands to Alistair's knowledge. He lowered his tankard and swallowed, making his descision. "I'm a professor from one of the colleges up north. I've come down to the Craftlands to study that Herobrine creature."
Eden scanned the tavern, then, with obvious uncertainty, sat down. They're a few tables away from the two cloaked figures— but are able to pick up on their conversation.
At the mention of a Voidmark, their eyes widen behind their mask.

X enters the town and heads toward the loudest area of town in hopes of finding people with information about appearing, or disappearing, buildings.
