>"Janitorial Guard? Do you like, guard janitors?"
"What? No. It means we're like... guards, and janitors. We guard this place from looters and the like. We also clean the place up. The corpses tend to pile up after a while. I was just about to tidy up around this room, but... well, I dozed off."
>"What kind of boons?"
"Well, let's see here..."
The old man reaches down the front of his tunic for a moment, before pulling out three items.
"Here we are. The first is a magic rune. We Janitors aren't all that well versed in the ways of magic, but from what I hear, it's probably pretty useful. Maybe."
"The second is this length of rope. It's... well, it's just rope. Still, things like this often prove mighty helpful, especially when you're in a... bind. Eh? Get it? Rope? Bind?"
"The last boon is... er... this rock! Yes, of course it is! ...no? Look, truth is, I nabbed this off a corpse in one of the deeper sections of the Labyrinth. People who make it that far usually have some good stuff... but this seems like any old rock."
"Alternatively, you can make a request of your own. It might take me a moment to find it, if I even can, but you'd be surprised what you can find in this blasted hole..."
>Give me boon
Tell me what you want then, fool! I'm not a mind reader!
>"I wanna hear a riddle! :D"
"Aaaaah, yeees... so you except the challenge of the riddle, do you? Heh heh, I do love this sort of thing. Gambling with your life to get and edge. LOVE IT!"
The old man is clearly quite excited about giving you a riddle... Way more excited than you are comfortable with.
"Yes, yes, let's see... oh, I know a good one!"
" Many don't like me at all. Many like me a little. Few remain with me. But I still follow them. Who am I?"
You ponder it over a moment, also sending an inquiring thought your companion's way.
Uh... they didn't train us for this, so... um... hang on...
...well, that was helpful. You continue to wonder what the answer might be. What could it be, what could it be...
>What will you do?

Seriously, hopelessly lost.SLENDERMAN
(not our final answer)
i think i mostly want to see what happens when this whole place breaks apartA shadow.
I doubt my initial guess now, due to the claim "Few remain with me."

The truth can oft be more misleading... I'm driven by greed, guilt, rage, and despair, but I'll never try to justify haughtiness.(Could it be "A riddle we don't know the answer to?")
"I'm as free as the dust in the solar wind."Pancakes
What is a man? A miserable pile of secrets, but enough talk have at you! One's past?
Still not a final answer.

The truth can oft be more misleading... I'm driven by greed, guilt, rage, and despair, but I'll never try to justify haughtiness.Let's go with
"I'm as free as the dust in the solar wind.""Youth" might work.
The truth can oft be more misleading... I'm driven by greed, guilt, rage, and despair, but I'll never try to justify haughtiness.Darkness
Now everyone pat me on the back and tell me how clever I am!"The law" might also work... or "history."
Additionally, you meant to type "accept" earlier.

The truth can oft be more misleading... I'm driven by greed, guilt, rage, and despair, but I'll never try to justify haughtiness.i actually like one's past, that sound like it has a fairly good potential to be it
i think i mostly want to see what happens when this whole place breaks apartThe old man crosses his arms, tapping his foot...
"Well? A final answer would be nice."
Jerk... take your time, if you need it. I sure as hell don't know...
So many answers...
Seriously, hopelessly lost."Memories" could also work, but "youth" looks like the best option.
"Family" and "the future" could also work.

The truth can oft be more misleading... I'm driven by greed, guilt, rage, and despair, but I'll never try to justify haughtiness.i dont think family or the future would work too well imo
however a couple of the other ones you mentioned are pretty similar
the past, youth, memories
i think its probably definitely something among those lines
i think i mostly want to see what happens when this whole place breaks apart("The past" seems like the most viable answer, now that I re-read the Riddle)
Now everyone pat me on the back and tell me how clever I am!(I think the past is the likeliest)
"I'm as free as the dust in the solar wind.">The past.
The old man strokes his scruffy chin in thought.
"The past, you say... yes, very interesting."
He turns away from you, pacing about the corpse room, muttering the words "Past..." over and over. This goes on for a minute or two befo-
"YES!"
He runs toward you, grabbing your shoulders and grinning ear to ear, revealing his decaying set of teeth.
"Yes, of course! The past! That's it, that's it, that's it!"
He dances a little jig about the place. What a weirdo...
He finally stops dancing, halting right in front of you.
"Ahem... yes, well, that is riddle's answer. Therefore, you may have an additional boon. Same terms as before. One of the three I have here, or an alternative request. Now, hurry up and choose."
You recall what the old man said before. Rune, rope, or rock. Or something else, if he can find it...
>What will you do?
Aaaand, last one of the night. More to come tomorrow.
Seriously, hopelessly lost.>Choose the rune and the rock.
I think. The other guys might get a better idea idk.
i think i mostly want to see what happens when this whole place breaks apartYou may only choose one. The rune looks like the most interesting visible option (although a rune itself is just a letter). I don't want to make the choice myself, but the "something else" sounds like it could be useful.
The truth can oft be more misleading... I'm driven by greed, guilt, rage, and despair, but I'll never try to justify haughtiness.well, no, we answered the riddle, so we get to choose two!
i think i mostly want to see what happens when this whole place breaks apartSorry for doubleposting, but what if we ask for a keychain? That way we can change up our Keyblade and give it different abilities and such.
(unless this one doesnt work the same way as it does in canon in which case ignore me)
i think i mostly want to see what happens when this whole place breaks apart[It occurs to you that the rune may imbue the LOS or your Rusty Armor with an ability, or change the abilities they have already. Rope is a very useful thing to have; you should take it as Boon #2]

Now everyone pat me on the back and tell me how clever I am!In fact, Dvorak, that thought had occurred to me. I think that might be a good option
Also
Dvorak is psychic
"I'm as free as the dust in the solar wind."Rope, definitely. Never go in a dungeon without rope.
Maybe we should ask for something more comfortable/sturdy to replace our rusty armor ?
Worldbuilding is fun, writing is a chore
[Ah, the Dungeon Maintenance crew! The Janitorial Guard are rarely seen by the average adventurer; they have way more important things to deal with than every level one Trial-Period EXPgrubber who comes to call. Maybe this guy hacked off the Captain or somesuch...]
