My guess is it'll be in the present day. If Apocalypse is effectively the end of the prequels (And it sounds like it might be since it sounds like JLAW, Hoult, and Fassbender are all leaving) then just continuing forward from the ending of DOFP would be the logical next step.
I really hope Dazzler is one of the chosen.
You know who I want to see as the villain? Nathaniel "Sinister" Essex.

Sinister was folded into Shaw from First Class.

Shaw didn't obsess over the Summers to a creepy degree so clearly we need another try at the character.
Hell, his comic origin is already tied to the villain of the next upcoming movie.

How about fold Sinister into a rewrite of X-Men: The Last Stand. Dr. Nathaniel Essex announes a cure for the mutant gene and begins offering therapy at his clinic. But the real purpose is to kidnap mutants with powers useful to him, and brainwash them into being his personal army.
And when Magneto realizes that Essex is actually a mutant, not a human persecuting mutants, the look on his face is priceless.
I didn't write any of that.Oh hey, I found that article just now.
Not to sound rude, but with a collection and fascination like that, he'd better have a good idea about how the world of X-Men and New Mutants works.
Well, The Fault in Our Stars was a good movie. That's the only film of his I've seen. But I have high hopes for The Stand.
It's supposedly going to have a supernatual/horror tone like Stephen King, so more Magik/Demon Bear and less Cable/X-Force.
I guess that means it's being set in the past so it can run along the main films and share actors?
Seems weird that they're introducing a teenage team when Scott, Jean, Storm, Knightcrawler and Jubilee are already teenagers.
How will it work as a franchise anyway with all these time skips? The characters won't stay teenagers.

Wow, I am unfamiliar with all of these characters.
If I wanted to read up on them, are there any story lines people recommend?
When it comes to the comics themselves, I'm pretty ignorant about everything mutant; I was always an avengers girl.
No Karma? Hm.
Shaping up nicely.
I don't read many comics, so I am interesting in seeing these characters fore the first time in an available format.
