◊ (and I'm probably completely screwing up on the markup) might work at least a bit better. Clearer on the misfit aspect and clearly some planning something for them all to do.

Looking at this image, I see a bunch of robots going down a hallway. One is being carried, and a couple look dirty. I see nothing to indicate they're all misfits, or have anything wrong with them.
The scene itself is an example of the trope, but the image doesn't convey it very well.
